Said it many times before, and I’ll say it again: I love this athletic administration. One of the best things we ever did was fire RV.11 points

So that only leaves money games at Texas A&M in 2020, Missouri in 2021, and Wisconsin in 2025. I'm okay with ending all those series. Future home and home with Houston, Cal, Baylor, Tulane, Wyoming, Army, and Texas Tech. I'm glad we are telling people to come to Denton or we are not interested.10 points

When 2027 rolls around those games against Baylor will probably be Conference games.9 points

Well crap! I'll either be too old or dead to make those games. When you fans head to NOLA to play Tulane, have a shot or two of whiskey in honor of DeepGreen who couldn't make it for some reason.6 points

Conversely, we could also not care and let them say whatever stupid crap they want and not let it impact us in any way. Just throwing out another idea.5 points

Because it's fun, your should try it. And he sucked in so many ways. Now that I got my sarcasm out of the way, here's a more serious response. While he may have done a few good things during his tenure, the mind wonders how much more someone else like WB could have done and accomplished during that time. The longer that WB is here and the more WB does, the more I wonder how far we would be if we never hired him. In his 15 years here, I'm guessing someone like WB would have been able to accomplish what RV did in about 5-7 years. So by my own estimation, that puts our athletic programs behind by about 8-10 years. I'm glad to have him as a fan and supporter. But he shouldn't have been the AD for nearly as long as he was. I have moved on to supporting WB and company. However, I like to take opportunities like this to reminisce and show my appreciation that RV is gone.4 points

https://sicem365.com/forums/2/topics/40051 BU fans are a little mad. Some clearly haven't come to terms with their current and future station in the Big 12. This is great for North Texas. The ability to schedule home/homes is a good sign of how our athletics department is viewed by peer institutions.4 points

After expenses, a moderately well attended home game nets North Texas about the same as a money game on the road. I look forward to seeing 7 home games on our schedule. GO MEAN GREEN4 points

RV would have scheduled Mary Hardin Baylor for home and then blamed Tulane for making us schedule Portland State for the second time on Homecoming in 2028...3 points

DRC: UNT hammered Baylor in 2003 in one of the memorable games in recent program history https://www.dentonrc.com/sports/unt-announces-football-series-with-baylor-tulane/article_dfc0c46d-7769-5ed4-8f65-916e352b62f8.html3 points

I hate Baylor with every fiber in my being, and I'm ready to beat them down. At both venues. By 30.2 points

I didn't mention that UTA had been dropped in my post, it is generally poor form to throw dirt on another school. Since you brought it up, UTA did in fact get dropped and they had to file a protest to get reinstated. I'm sure you can imagine that they won't go on a PR tour touting that information. Our condolences to your basketball program. All kidding aside the more T1 schools in Texas the better, I think the state generally gets overlooked in higher ed.2 points

I like how they refer to us as a cupcake, smaller school and also excuse their road games to smuT, NutsaCK, Rice and TSUSM as being close to large metro areas. My goodness that school is full of idiots. Note to Baker, have replacements on the ready for smuT and Baylor. The way they run their programs, they may be gone by the time these games come around.2 points

Looks like both Baylor games will be season openers. September 1, 2029 vs. the Bears in Denton should be a packed house!2 points

Negating size/strength advantages on the edges with a (relatively) new approach to finding match-ups seems good for the rest of us, though.2 points

4 of 5 50/50 challenges went the way of the Pats. And with the Chiefs ahead in the 4th on a I believe 3rd and 7 a roughing the passer was calld on the Chiefs. Biggest joke of the roughing the passer I have ever seen. Pats got the auto and took the ball down the field and scored a go ahead TD. The Chiefs were spinning it on O and would've went up 2 scores and probably would've won.2 points

Big news that UNT maintains its Carnegie R1 status. They tightened up standards and the remaining Texas schools with this classification are UT, UTD, Rice, Tech, A&M, UH and UNT. http://www.kcbd.com/2018/12/18/texas-tech-receives-second-carnegie-tier-one-classification/1 point

Pretty good overview of how Clemson was able to avoid Alabama's strengths and win the game from the outside in. Also talks about the Big 12's influence on Clemson's program, and why that style of football gives Alabama problems. https://www.footballstudyhall.com/2019/1/11/18175447/dabo-swinney-revolutionary-hero-clemson-tigers-alabama-crimson-tide-nick-saban-process-spread1 point

Lots of people, but not Lawson. Just go back and watch him in the CBI Tournament. We were and are better without him. He is a talented player, but often that is not all there is to the equation.1 point

Revolutionary if you hate 'Bama. But I wonder if this is generally bad for college football if you want equality. The Clemson-'bama rivalry is fueling interest at the top of the CFP, and my guess is it furthers the divide between them and the rest of us.1 point

I just assumed that the NFL was trying to more closely emulate FIFA/World Cup soccer watching that Saints debacle. /s I can't ever remember an NFL game that felt so rigged....but I've sure seen some international soccer games that were. The larger problem with the NFL is that is it so over officiated now with all of the super precise language in the rule-book that the games have an ever increasing probability of the officiating deciding the outcome of games. There was a stretch of game during the middle of the 4th quarter of the AFC championship where they went to video review 3 different times for 5 minutes (real-world time delays) each, then the refs blew a roughing the passer call on Brady that gave the Pats a first down they otherwise wouldn't have had . The typical league response to the missed PI in the Saints game will be to add replays on some penalties (missed or called). I really hope not, though. I'm just sick of watching refs and replays at this point. Yesterday was outright off-putting. The league had a better product 20 years ago in regard to games being decided on the field and not by whistles. Now get off my lawn.1 point

May need to add a new Heating system to the pit if we decide to stay in the Pit. The NT players were very cold in the first half of the Rice game.1 point

So what about the face mask no call in the 4th quarter when Goff scrambled inside the 5 on 2nd down. It would have resulted in a 1st and goal from the 1, but the Rams had to settle for a field goal. That no call on the PI was crap, but those bad calls offset IMO. Everyone seems to be overlooking the facemask.1 point
