I agree. But in reality, I don't care if they wear uniforms I like or not. I don't really care what color is. I hope they wear uniforms that resonate with current players and recruits. I suspect our combinations do. That's obviously the target audience since they unveil them using a "Fortnite" theme. Bottom line, I like winning more than anything else. I hope they do whatever they need to do to win.5 points

Cool article by underdog dynasty about Mason Fine looking up to Drew Brees and watching his passing record. Not sure if anyone posted this but it’s a quick read. https://www.underdogdynasty.com/2018/10/9/17956878/both-always-being-told-theyre-too-short-mason-fine-watched-drew-brees-make-history-north-texas-unt?_gl=1*4jqkxa*4 points

I don't have any particular feelings toward any one uniform good or bad. I'm more fascinated by how we've basically become Oregon with a different uniform for every game. For this old man, it's kinda foreign to not have a single set of home/road unis that a fan can identify with over a period of years, but I also understand that the kids wearing those uniforms like the variety and that it helps in recruiting (though I don't particularly understand that one either now get off my lawn).4 points

I'm happy to report that Nate Brooks has shaken off last year's injuries and returned to his sophomore year form. He leads the team and the conference with 4 interceptions. Two of those came in the Arkansas game and earned him Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week. He is second in tackles among defensive backs with 24 (13 solo.) He is second on the team in pass breakups with five.3 points

I know its not football, but its a big achievement of the sort that deserves more attention: UNT soccer has for the first time gotten ranked nationally in the coaches poll Vito also wrote a piece.3 points

I think he's referring to the Fine being able to spot our guys quickly by the color of the helmets. He's short and helmets are the quickest thing to spot and most likely the one of the only things he sees from behind the line.3 points

When we’re on defense the helmet will say Southern Miss and the green parts will be yellow.3 points

Here's a link to the original thread and the players that were adopted: We’re now 5 games into the season, so let’s hear how everyone’s adopted player is doing so far. My man Bryce English is having a good bounce back year so far after missing a couple of seasons. He has 4 solo tackles with 8 assisted for a total of 12 tackles. He has a TFL for 5 yards and a half sack for 5 yards. Even has a QB Hurry. Not bad for a backup NT after a couple of seasons out of the game.2 points

Greg White only has 3 catches for 39 yds but has had a few clutch first down grabs. Good stuff to see from a 5/6th option. Hopefully he stays consistent and gets more opportunities!2 points

Tauaalo Bear has become the spiritual leader of the team. Rousing spirits, making tackles (5 solo, 14 total), and cementing himself as a permanent captain supposedly according to Seth. Couldn't be prouder.2 points

My man, Taylor Robinson, has broken into the starting lineup and is performimg admirably.2 points

Quinn Shanbour is still the best holder in college football and has had some bice runs in relieving Mason Fine. He is a model teammate. Evan Johnson hasn’t gotten many touches but has been a great teammate supporting his battery mates.2 points

Rico Bussey Jr. He's off to a fantastic start & is likely going to eclipse the stats I had projected for him in the adoption thread. So far: 41 catches 532 yards 8 TDs If he keeps this pace up, he'll be around: 90 catches 1100 yards 18 TDs This puts him in Casey Fitzgerald's neighborhood & I bet he'd get an All-American nod like Casey did. Keep it up Rico!!2 points

Serious question. Does anyone remember a student vote to make black one of our official colors? I sure did not. I am not on campus but would have surely read about such a thing here. Unless I am mistaken, my guess is that "someone" just decided that we should add black and there we are.2 points

The guy most likely never been to the stadiums he writing about. Besides, do we really care what a ODU writer has to say? If Vito said it I might be worried.2 points

Lol, I'm just searching off the weather channel's app. Rain is not to big of a deal, if there is thunderstorms.. That sucks because it delays the game. It's only Wednesday though, plenty of time for change in the forecast!2 points

The part that drives me crazy in there is how loud the PA/Music is and the way it reverberates around in that cavernous space. It drove me insane the last two times we played down there. It’s really obnoxious.2 points

Sorry, no, wearing black, the same color as your opponents helmets, at 1 pm does not make sense.1 point

That is the coaches' jobs. On the other hand, the culture of the team dictates the players should be policing issues of motivation, effort, or focus. While we have clearly witnessed that teams' are starting to gain some traction against this offense, we all should be able to admit we have also seen a lack of focus as well. I am very impressed by Tauaalo taking such a leadership role. He is a senior and has the on-field cred to back up the talk. Good for him and good for SL for recognizing it.1 point

Early on it seemed our receivers caught everything, even the tough catches. Now it’s like they have trouble with the wide open stuff.1 point

Hand me down implies some team wanted it in the first place. It was a Football stadium the basketball team never wanted. But they squatted there because their Arena was falling down.1 point

One way we can help as a fan base is to be there and be loud and energize the entire team. It is better to have 20K+ screaming than just those on the sidelines!1 point

To be honest Rico has been the only one who's played like he deserves it. Lawrence has been pretty inconsistent, and Guyton has dropped 3/4 of everything thrown his way1 point
