I'll be the first one in line to apologize to Biagi. Called for his job early on, only unit I'm still concerned with is KO coverage. But this is an impressive accomplishment. Happy Thanksgiving to all my mean green people!! I'm thankful I have a team I can brag about to my friends!! Oh. And I'm thankful we're playing for a CUSA title!!8 points

"UTSA’s coach Frank Wilson, who coached running backs at Ole Miss ’05-’07, has won six games in each of his two seasons at UTSA. Their wins this year have come over Baylor, Southern, Texas State, Rice, UTEP and a last second field goal Saturday secured a 9-7 win over Marshall in San Antonio." With a resume like that, is Ole Miss sure they can get him?8 points

What a shame. I thought he would want to build upon his 11-0 season at UTSA.7 points

Wouldn't you agree though that if we played that game today we might see a different result? I know I'm drinking the koolaid some here, but I think our team today is better than smu.7 points

Worry about it, if and/or when, it happens. These kids (and fans) should get to enjoy the season without hearing every three days they're going to lose their coach. Write the tougher story about reasons he may stay and continue to be a part of what he's building in Denton.7 points

We played four of the top fifty teams in total defense. We beat three of them: UTSA, UAB, and Army.5 points

Did anybody see the story by Rhett Votto from the Del Boca Vista Picayune talking about how happy Kiffin was at FAU and how he had no plan of leaving? Cool story.4 points

Happy Thanksgiving to the Mean Green Faithful! I am blessed to be spending the day eating great food with my wonderful bunch of family and friends! Also thankful for such a fun Mean Green Season!3 points

I think so as well, people forget how the offense struggled early on (in comparison to now). My buddy and I wanted Shambour in the Iowa game. That's crazy talk now!3 points

The North Texas equipment and graphics departments have turned it up to 11 this year. Our uniforms have been tremendous weekly. Even if you don't like them being tricked up it's hard to argue with how clean they look. The sleeves with eagles included is sharp and love the helmet logo. I do agree it is a little big but SOOOOO much better than North Texas written out. But our uniforms make the social media rounds weekly and not to mention our graphics guys. What they do for recruits and they players is on point. Kudos to SL and Wren understanding how to really connect with the fans and more importantly recruits.3 points

*cracks knuckles* Oishii for Sushi/Japanese BB’s for cheap Cajun Bubba’s Burger Shack for Hamburgers Teotihuican for Tex-Mex Barnaby’s or Hobbit Cafe for American Les Givral for Vietnamese. Tacos depends on how adventurous you want to get as far as neighborhood. If you’re feeling adventurous stop at Taconazo. If not, stop at Tacos A Go-Go. Don’t go to Torchy’s. There are hundreds of amazing authentic taco joints. If you want bars I can name even more. All of these spots are within 10-15 minutes of Rice. I used to live in Montrose and worked in the industry.3 points

Man i missed this. This thread is rich. Like Southlake rich. Like 6’4” 285lbs of rock solid muscle rich. Its at least an all 3rd team thread of the week. Is there an all 4th team? Does the other board offer PWO status to the poor super deserving opinions are not offered legitimacy over here?3 points

Fired on his birthday. Now then, to business. The college football world NEEDS Lane Kiffin as the next head coach of UCLA.2 points

Saw em at Rockin Rodeo years ago. They did Rubberneck front to back. Amazing show.2 points

Hubris. They have delusions of grandeur. They've never won a national championship but they behave like they are a perennial powerhouse. They aren't. They are big, wealthy, and have a lots of weird alumni & fans. What I've learned from them is they have massive penis envy with all things UT. It always made me laugh that Texas OU are huge rivals and A&M was like Johnny Tyler in Tombstone.2 points

Last time we wore the grey jerseys, it was topped off with the matte black helmets. Chrome changes the whole negative juju on the grey/black look.2 points

Well since you don’t know much about basketball. GT isn’t a top 40-50 team. RPI is like 228. Barely beat Bethune-Cookman. Only beat UTRGV by 10. So how are they a top 40-50 team?2 points

Losing Littrell to Tech would kick my ass. I’d love to see him go anywhere else, not that black hole of a third choice school in Lubbock.2 points

How did I forget House of Pies? Oh man the freaking greatest. I lived behind that place, it was dangerous to live so close.2 points

If you win in El paso they will come. There is not a lot going on in the big El Paso. They are on island and not close to any major cities and have a captive audience with no real competition. Not even safe to go to Juarez anymore. Back in the day when I spent two years at UTEP (being from El Paso) the crowds were always pretty strong in both football and basketball. I am amazed at the pictures of their lack of fans at both the Sun Bowl and the Haskins center. They win or just are decent and they will lead the CUSA in attendance. But recruiting to El Paso has to be hard. It is a commuter school. When I made way to NTSU I thought I died and gone to heaven.2 points

I hope this is not a game we overlook. Rice will go all out to win it for their coach. I really want to see us enter the Championship game 9 - 3.2 points

Can we get a group together to go for a beer after the game? There's a Gingerman at Rice Village.2 points

Can we stop this bull sh*t. Texas Tech at its best is middle of the pack Big 12. That's what Coach Bro has given them, the only difference is, the whole conference is down so it show more. Leach over achieved at Texas Tech with a gimmick offense, but Texas Tech has never been anything special. Folks from West Texas just don't know any better, because they never had anything better.2 points

After Sherman left, I always felt like they were just looking for a reason to fire Sumlin. As stated above he has a solid record, any word on who A&M is looking at to hire? In all honesty I hope the program takes a nose dive 😅2 points

Why the heck would Leach leave his current job and move back to Lubbock?2 points

Indeed. My friend jokingly says this is an elaborate prank by Leach to stick it to Tech somehow.2 points

Possibly unrelated, but I find it interesting this thread appears alongside the return of a formerly very active poster.2 points

It’s strange to me that our fans find it laughable that Lane might elect to stay at FAU for a bit, but then turn around and cite the same reasons that Littrell would rebuff advances to stay at North Texas. Likes the area, close to family, huge student base at major public university, located in talent rich recruiting hotbed, nice new on campus football stadium, compensated fairly given peer institution group - with likelihood of increasing substantially as successes continue, currently building and fielding a competitive product on the field, getting positive media attention for the program, ect. The current version of Kiffin, I’m kinda on board with. I like that he seems to have fun with the FAU program. I can imagine given his previous experiences in those pressure cooker environments that a more battle worn LK is genuinely enjoying that change of pace. I also love that he trolls Nick Saban. I hope that Kiffin and Littrell both elect to stay at their current jobs for a couple more years. For other CUSA programs having FAU, FIU, UTSA and North Texas with good coaches building quality programs is a nightmare scenario. These programs have advantages that, when tapped into properly, can’t be replicated by the other conference institutions. I’m enjoying the changing of the guard we’ve seen this year. Hope it continues on a permanent basis.2 points
