Join us at East Side Denton at 2:30 to watch UNT take on LA Tech. We will have the game on a few TVS and the sound on. Our stream looks to be great and we will have $3 Armaadillo drafts during the game!9 points

You have to be the favorite for it to be a "Trap". NT is a 4-point underdog in a game that will clinch a bowl berth. The FAU debacle will not be repeated tomorrow.6 points

This. They've alienated a lot of viewers, just like the NFL has. These people have long memories and don't come back real easily. Look at Mizzou, as another example. They handled the BLM issues very poorly from almost every angle and now their enrollment and donations dropped by over 33%, to the point of having to close 7 dorms. Just as we saw here from the I-aa fiasco, memories don't fade away for a long time--its not just the viewers, fans, and donors that you lose immediately, but its their family members and friends who also stay away for a long time. ESPN is finding it out, as will the NFL. You cannot alienate the majority and not think there won't be repercussions, no matter how much the vocal minority wants to make others believe it.5 points

on my drive to school this mornin I heard a commercial on ESPN radio promoting UNT football and telling people to come support the mean green vs UTEP in their next home game. This is what we need more of! Bravo WB and everyone else involved.4 points

How good, I mean damn good, does it feel to have an opposing coach say our Qb, Rb and Wide out are the best that have seen!GMG3 points

The only "homers" I can recall this season are the doofus from UTSA that predicted 11-0 (although Vito didn't talk to him), and the dude from SoMiss who had no fear of the UNT offense and said "they haven't seen a defense like this one...", lol. All of the others have been pretty fair, except for the FAU guy, who apparently thought UNT was coming to Boca Raton to play a football game, and only predicted a close victory for FAU.3 points

Good post. For me, I still have fond memories of getting up every morning in HS and watching Sportscenter back when Dan & Keith were calling the replays. I used to just keep the channel tuned to ESPN during college because when games weren't on the programming was at least funny and/or not offensive. That all started to slide off course when they lost their damn minds on the Duke Lacrosse thing and pretty much ran that story around the clock from a day after it happened and helped ruin those kids lives by reporting as fact what could only be conjecture so early into the investigation. From that point on they continued to push politics and personal problems to the point that I stopped watching anything other than sports---and maybe the occasional 30 for 30 that looks interesting. Having said that, it's still a must subscribe channel, for me, due to the fact that they show SO MANY SPORTING EVENTS. I love WatchESPN since it lets me watch replays of entire games. Yes, there are others that let you watch live events and some replays, but I've always found the sheer amount of games available and functionality/stability of their online applications to be solid. I'm also not looking forward to the day when I have to pay 3 or 4 separate providers to watch all the content I get today on ESPN. An Amazon subscription for NFL, selling my soul to facebook for CUSA and whoever else college football, and how many other ways this stuff gets split up by leagues or individual entities and get charged for them all. I seriously doubt that model is going to be cheaper for consumers in the long run. It certainly won't be convenient. So, it'll be a bittersweet day for me when ESPN dies...3 points

From WIKI https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conference_USA_Football_Championship_Game#Three_or_more-team_procedure Two-team tie-breaker procedure Highest regular season winning percentage based on overall Conference USA play. If tied, head to head between tied teams. If still tied, team with highest CFP ranking. Three or more-team procedure (Once the tie has been reduced to two teams, go to the two-team tie-breaker format.) Highest regular season winning percentage based on overall CUSA play. If tied, head to head between tied teams. If still tied, highest winning percentage within division. If still tied, compare records against divisional opponents in descending order of finish. If still tied, compare records with common cross-divisional opponents. If still tied, compare records against cross-divisional opponents in descending order of finish. If still tied, team with highest CFP ranking. If still tied, the representative will be the team that has not participated in the championship game most recently. If at any point the tie is broken in a multiple team tie, the remaining teams will begin the process again at #2. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Assuming an NT Loss vs LT and everyone wins out from then on (UTSA excluded since they are on LT's and UAB's schedule) NT conf 6-2 , div 5-1 LT conf 6-2 , div 4-2 UAB conf 6-2 , div 4-2 So at this point NT would go to the CUSA title game based on the third tiebreaker -- highest winning percentage within division.3 points

If we give up a run back for a touchdown after every score, the defense doesn't need a breather because they are never on the field :-).2 points

I have to believe there are several in this day and age of multiple uniforms, but it would be interesting to know. I could be wrong on all of these, but off the top of my head in Texas alone I'd guess Texas Tech, TCU, Baylor, and Aggie have different combos every game. I'm sure you can throw in OkSt to the north as well. Of course, I could be wrong on all of these so there's that possibility too. Please no to the gray. I've yet to see any team wear a gray uniform that I liked. My opinion of course.2 points

Has anybody else noticed how many fewer dropped passes we've seen this year versus last year? Not sure why, but this keeps a lot of drives moving.2 points

Bravo! UNT Athletics! ๐๐๐๐๐๐ โ Put the Coca Cola Family Four Pack promo on your Facebook page to expand this promo to all your FB Friends & visitors. ๐ IMHO, This "Family Plan" promo should be for every UNT home game every season until we start consistently filling the Wing Zone. Empty seats are expensive. ๐๐ I wish UNT had a goal to chose "1" game a year where we pull out all the stops to make sure the WZ is SRO. Probably the home season opener would be best choice when you have all Summer to accomplish this "1" game goal just to show all it can be done? ๐๐๐ A filled Wing Zone would add such synergy to our existing fan support we have yet to see at Apogee--especially if it were mostly (loud) kids & their parents.2 points

Not even close to the gist of his speech. Were you there? I was and actually listened to what he had to say. The guy is not good at delivering jokes during a speech. That is for sure and his attempts at humor went over like the proverbial "lead balloon" at the event. Not that anyone was put off by them, just that they were not delivered at the right time or with the correct joke-like content. You pluck 10 seconds out of an hour long talk and suggest that was the content. And, folks wonder where fake news gets started and/or perpetuated. It is interesting how folks refuse to even consider what someone might have to say if they do not say exactly what that person already believes. What fun is that? Open your opportunities up to different views...it won't kill you, it won't turn your belief system on its head, but it might provide some interesting nuggets of information to ponder. I heard Trump, Jr. speak this week, on Nov. 1st I am attending a talk on campus entitled "The Accidental Activist" presented by the author of a new book on the couple who broke the gay marriage barrier in Texas. Why not? The opportunities to learn or hear various sides of issues is endless on a campus if it does not limit free speech. At this point, even though our President may have tried, UNT does not stifle free speech. I am hoping it stays that way in spite of a minority of faculty and students who feel opposing views are not worthy to even present.2 points

As I recall, that wooded area was elevated and there was a parking lot adjacent to it, maybe the south or southwest side. It was a nice spot and the basketball arena was open for restroom use. Things may have changed so don't take it as gospel. Since this is their Homecoming, I would think they might be using spaces like that.1 point

Last time I was there (3 or 4 years ago), we parked in a small lot on the SE side of the stadium, but I think the only reason they let us in that lot was because that's where the Alumni Assoc was having their tailgate. There is no organized event for this game, but I would like to tailgate near other greenies if someone has some kind of idea where they'll be. One time, I remember parking in a wooded area near the basketball arena on the west side, but I don't know if that's still open to everyone.1 point

Because we so frequently are, I'm suggesting we change our nickname from Mean Green to Homecoming Opponent. Beat 'em. GO MEAN GREEN1 point

Their homecoming parade is quiet large. Lots of streets cut off so your "navigator" may not work very well. You will sit in the Northeast end of the visitors side. Next to the score board. Their homecoming court will be sitting under tents between visitors section and score board. They take their homecoming very seriously, very old school. VERY nice scenery.........in the old neighborhoods. I was through Ruston about a month ago. There are quiet a few new eating joints opened on the interstate since 2013. Board Walk (or whatever it is called) in Shreveport is pretty nice too if you are staying in one of the casinos.1 point

The local channel 33 did an amazing job the last time they had it. ESPN has sucked. IMO, they basically created the P5 G5 divide and if you aren't P5 they just don't care. So, bye...1 point

Curious where this will eventually lead on the college football fronts. No more rich ESPN contracts and will ESPN continue to control every bowl game? Will there be a reduction in number of bowls?1 point
