  1. Well heard hes not interested in playing basketball anymore. His personal issues are just flat out does not want to play at all. How do you deal with that as a coach. Thats why its not good for some kids to sit out for a year because other than class their interests go elsewhere. Hope its not true but....who knows these days who is telling the truth or not

  2. I can't speak for everyone else, but my "concerns" about how our program is being run, and developed will not result in me throwing away any season tickets or parking passes. I have always believed in staying (after all it is my school) in the stands and making the person that I have issues with as miserable as possible. Did I mention that it was MY SCHOOL, not Mac's or RV's? Or half of the BOR for that matter? Rather than address the issue of positive speak etc about our staff, let me just say that I was raised in a religion that did not believe in blind faith.

  3. I'm surprised it's that low to be honest. I was expecting at least 30.

  4. Benford will be gone in under 2 years and then KRAM can talk about how great the next coach is compared to Benford.;-) That post would have made better sense if KRAM had ever once criticized JJ on this board while JJ was coaching at UNT. He didn't. It was always sunshine and puppy dogs, just like with Benford. And don't get me wrong, I completely understand why he defends Benford. What I don't understand is trying to throw one of the best coaches we have ever had here (granted: low bar) under the bus to protect the new coach who has destroyed this program? And doing it publicly?

  5. Just kidding - but on the real, what news is there? Last I heard was Houston Nutt, and obviously the Mack and Major deals...anyone heard anything else?

  6. Mac and the boys need to pull this one out. Next year's season tickets are already calling me and I want a bowl next season. McNulty, Means, Dajon? I think Means becomes number two, don't believe Dajon is totally invested. Wish he was. Maybe, just maybe, but Means is and he has good stuff.

  7. No, but it did invent the "power of positive thinking" long before Norman Vincent Peale.

  9. Hmmmm...give me UNT-27. UTSA -17. Go Mean Green! The Mean Green end the season with two nice wins to carry into the off-season.

  10. WKU pulls off the stunner, 67-66 in OT. Marshall went 1st, scored a TD and kicked the extra point. WKU scores a TD, goes for 2 and converts. Crazy stats in this game, including 1396 total yards offense in regulation. Nuts.

  11. Don't you love the optimism of some of this fan base! A hire is just that until proven on the field. People are ready to cancel season tickets and give up parking passes - toss em my way! In Mac I trust. Beat UTSA Go Mean Green!!!!! See ya at the Westin!!!!!

  14. 48-35. A little over 2 minutes left in the 2ND QUARTER! Half a hundred in a half. Amazing.

  15. What you speak of is the exception, not the norm. Programs that recruit at a high level win at a high level. It might not be something we want to hear given our recruiting, but it's true nevertheless. This is a damn good hire for SMwho. They will most likely turn into AAC champs by 2017 and if he isn't cashed out by a P5 he will have continued success beyond 2017. We will not waver and we will not change and bc of it we will start getting skull drug by SMwho. Thanks, RV.

  16. Boys and girls, SMU just made a great hire. Dude can recruit, and well let's face it, you get what you spend for. We won't soend for a coordinator, and we will suffer. We need young blood (that can coach their butt off and recruit) to maintain pace with SMU this could get ugly.

  19. TCU's methodology was utilizing their EXTREME wealth they have at their fingertips. There's only 4 other Texas schools that could come close to matching what they have and use it to overcome the insane obstacles membership in the MTN imposes on a program. It's fun to dream but you might as well discuss flying pigs if your fantasizing North Texas following TCU's footsteps in any way form or fashion. Rick

  20. Who started this silly notion that the SMU game would be considered a home game? This has UNT90 written all over it with some folks just running with it. The UNT90 mind warp working with some folks it seems. Too funny, but does make for good press.

  21. The only problem is we really don't raise Baylor's strength of schedule enough for them to make this move. I fully expect us to buy an FCS game (it's the lazy, easy way out, but it's always what we do when it comes to scheduling football games). 4 home games would make me seriously consider giving up the club seats and just writing off the seat license fee as an extremely bad investment. It would be a clear signal that athletics will never matter at UNT. Again, I don't expect this to happen, but with this AD, you can never be sure.

  25. Well Andrew, you seem to be in the know. So please enlighten us. Based on Twitter, either his gma is sick, or he's got a baby momma. Needless to say, most have played through both (not saying either is easy) but both have been done before and will continue to be done. I'm just disappointed that yet another Benford recruit has yet to put on green and white and play for UNT.

  27. I get your point and you are completely right and probably being the most fair in this situation. But, I can also understand the few remaining fans who have seen a rather alarming trend with Benford and his recruits. So, this is yet another possible bust and just another 'thing' that Benford hasn't been able to manage well. Whatever it is ( a kid?, health?, family?, legal?), I hope Wesley figures it out and is better for it. There are more important things than basketball and dealing with those things is important.

  28. Benford signed 5 kids for his first fall signing class in fall 2012. 0 of them have played a single minute for us. That is his fault.

  31. From a coverage standpoint, that won't be good for UNT. Can you imagine the slobbering that will be going on at the DMN and other local media outlets. If we're buried 6ft down now in media coverage it will be 25ft should Mack Brown go to SMU.

  34. Every recruiting visit will go a little something like this... Recruit's Mom: Honey, Mack Brown is here to see you Recruit: Awesome! Wait, why are you wearing an SMU shirt? Mack: I'm the coach at SMU now Recruit: I'm kinda in the middle of playing a game of Madden. It was nice meeting you though.

  35. Good to see our RPI is ahead of 8 teams in CUSA and 5 teams (including LSU) in the SEC. Clearly ours wins and strength of schedule are good enough to put us ahead of teams like LSU, WKU, MTSU, Texas A&M, and UAB Among others. We have a very tough of out Confrence schedule and need to go 6-6 in out of confence play to keep the RPI up. Sorry the facts hurt 3 people's feelings..... Maybe football is better for them. Less teams to research. The moment I posted everything about our I was true. It has changed, but if people wouldread the articles posted it would be easier to post the facts from them.
