  2. Apologies to those involved, but I fear it's time to come clean. Here goes... "Andrew" is in fact a collaborative writing project / tontine between myself, Quoner, TheTastyGreek, Cerberus, CMJ, GreenP1, UNT90, LoveMG, TulsaFaninTexas and...remarkably...FireFightnRick, to provide us all a creative outlet for our frustrations at the current state of the basketball program and it's inept leader. The premise was simple. We'd all have access to "Andrew" to opine inane, ridiculous and often unintelligible posts in someway related to basketball. We derived a far too complicated scoring system to get into here. To make things even more interesting, we all kicked $10,000 each into a high-yield tontine to be paid to the author with the highest score once "Andrew" was deemed "dead" (read: Benford fired). The bit worked beautifully at first...raising the ire of those unaware and keeping traffic high in the basketball forum despite the lousy product on the court. It produced some memorable gems of "basketball insight" (the 2-3 zone bit? FFR's line! stroke of genius, sir). Hell, often some of us authors would argue quite literally with ourselves...writing under both "Andrew" and our usual screen names simultaneously (I'll tell you...sometimes even after you wrote as "Andrew" you were often left astounded at the words you wrote). A problem has arisen of late, though. Two authors have already been murdered and I myself can no longer log in as "Andrew". I have not as of yet determined whether this is the act of one author greedily pursuing the tontine for himself as it becomes readily apparent that Benford is not likely soon fired, or...worse...if "Andrew" has gone all HAL 9000 and has developed his own mindfulness and state of being. Either way, I fear for my life. One thing is certain...whatever Andrew writes should not be at all trusted. I mean...even more so now.

  4. ... Well, wish no more! http://gma.yahoo.com/talking-dog-device-ready-hit-market-soon-163302793--abc-news-topstories.html I hope this thing can read my dog's thoughts when she's dragging-her-ass-across-my-carpet-like-she's-got-worms-but-we've-had-her-tested-and-she-doesn't-have-worms-but-she-does-this-anyway, because I'd really like to know why she keeps doing this. (not my dog above, but this is the same stunt she pulls, complete with the turn-around-and-smell maneuver).

  15. YYZ28, Good job of piling on the bs. It will take awhile to sort the information from the verbage. A quick overview suggests it's just the same old cast reciting the same old trash. I suspect a creationist could collect just as massive a set of blurbs - but evolution would still be true.

  16. Never EVER underestmate culture. We won last year because we EXPECTED to, plain and simple . The kids we have this year aren't hanging their heads low because Orr, Trice, Chancellor etc. are gone...they are expected to and expect to pick up the mantle and carry it now that it's their turn. A majority of these guys have had the bad taste of 4 and 5 win seasons in their mouth. Winning is a hell of a drug and the craving for it will make you run when it's hot, lift when you're sore compete when you're tired. Culture matters.

  17. One thing that I think is getting underrated through all of this, is that this is Mac's 4th year here. We all love to praise Coach Wintrich and the job he has done developing the players physically, and he deserves it, but don't underestimate the job Coach Mac and his staff have done with teaching these kids the game of football. The players on our roster have either played only under Coach Mac here, or are entering their 4th season playing and learning from Coach Mac. We were right up there with Rice last year as far as being the most technically sound team in CUSA last year. Coach Mac is a great teacher of the game, and he has made sure that his staff has been as well. Southern Miss was a team made up of much more highly regarded recruits out of high school, and we drummed them by 41 points at their place. You test those guys physical measurables (i.e. 40s, cone drill, bench max, squat max, etc) and they'd come a heck of a lot closer to our team than they would on a football field. And that has more to do with coaching, but coaching is the main reason for that. Not to mention how well we play at home under Coach Mac, and how our road play is starting to translate into wins, and we'll be fine. We won't have as many senior starters as last year, but the coaches will make sure that whoever they put on the field they can trust. Whether they started last year or didn't play at all.

  27. I was just making a general statement about entertainers crossing over into politics and then go back and forth. Line them all up. Oh, wait, you can't. They're all imaginary, my friend. ;-) Back on subject. Craig James was probably fired for being an arrogant ass.

  28. What in the world is this supposed to mean? Craig James never made any comments regarding homosexuality or homosexual "marriage" in his capacity as a sports analyst. He was asked the question when he was running for political office. And it's not the imaginary higher beings that you need to be concerned about judging you, my friend.

  29. Sports is supposed to be entertainment. I tune out when entertainers use an entertainment platform to push political or religious views. My right as a consumer and broadcasters know people feel that way. Imaginary higher beings are more than welcome to judge me.

When I was at Clark, they dished up the greasiest food on campus. You walked in that cafeteria and it smelled like Long John Silvers.

  34. I had the same thought that Mac's contract could also involve the assistants' salaries. Iowa State fans will tell you that a big problem Mac had was keeping assistants and replacing them. In some ways North Texas would be a better coaching job than Iowa State. Coaching at North Texas gives you a much better chance of winning than at Iowa State and you get to build up recruiting contacts in Texas. The stability with Mac's contract should tell a coach that he could be here for awhile if he's tired of moving around to different coaching jobs each year and worrying if the entire staff will be fired after each season.

  35. So I guess it's a no from you? The Conservative Tea Party can't be grassroots, it's Astro-turf. Or, it can't be the Tea Party, it's Tea-Baggers. Now Climate Denier is thrown around to label anyone who questions common sense approaches to the weather. I just asked a question. I didnt come up with the Climate Denier thing but the left has a history with this type of labeling. Rick

  37. Sorry for the very late entry. Thanks mark for getting me added in. 6'3" 235-240 depends on how many laps to the buffet I can get in. Deadly accurate at 12" from the rim. Now if we can only play with a ladder so I can get 12" from the rim. These knees just don't have the umf anymore. Looking forward to getting my 30sec on and 5 minutes off. 45. While we're all coming clean I have a confession to make too. I am Cougar King...and Correcamino. After failing out of North Texas and being banned from campus (I still maintain that the girl in my kinesiology class WANTED me to call her 58 times and hang up) I had to come up with some way to get back at all of you. So I came up with the most ridiculous troll handles I could (thanks to the help of my life partner Michael Sam who does half of the Correcamino posts). All of you have been fun to draw offsides, but especially UNT90. He never realized it, but everything I've done has been in furtherance of my troll agenda. A lot of people say you're born to troll message boards...he knows that it's a choice. My name isn't even actually Emmitt. It's Dylon and I spit hot fire on here. Top five trolls of all time...Dylon, Dylon, Dylon, Dylon, Dylon.
