I didn't see this linked anywhere else on GMG.com, so here it is (also mentions Garrett Gilbert): http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/columnists/rick-gosselin/20140216-gosselin-why-the-nfl-should-ve-invited-smu-s-garrett-gilbert-north-texas-brelan-chancellor-to-combine.ece5 points

general admission season tickets start at $65. to answer the OP's question: - ESPN and Fox didn't release their 2013 TV schedules until the middle of May last year so I expect 2014's times will be announced around that same time this year. Typically in the past, the athletic department hasn't sold big away game tickets to the general public. I went to LSU in 2008 and 2012 - both times only season ticket holders, MGC members, and current students were allowed to purchase from the NT ticket office2 points

JJ tried for several years to get tech as a home game and Knight is the one coach who finally agreed. That game is probably my most memorable moment as a fan inside the Super Pit. For that I'll always be a fan of PK2 points

If they show up, pay the fee and step on the court.....YES! All listed in this thread indicating they are playing will be in the player draft. You will get a PM with the draft list prior to the draft for your use on draft day. Trying to keep it simple. Just PM me if you have "coach" questions...no problem. It flows pretty well. And...tons of fun.....2 points

Auction update... Just picked up some great Heart of Dallas Bowl Game autographed photos with Derrick Thompson and the Rice game punt return TD with Brelan Chancellor! Hopefully, folks will love these...I have sent photos of them to Harry, and hope to post them in the thread soon. If you want to bid and cannot attend the game in person, just PM me. I think folks will like these...thanks go to Green59 for getting these and figuring out how to get them signed for the auction.2 points

That's what I like about it. Was probably drawn in by JJ's early success before that shine wore off. I'm assuming he just eventually got fed up with the sertotypical SMU douchebag.2 points

I have no doubt that this will be one of the finest student unions in the country given the size and amenities. But, please don't treat it like a museum. Make it an enjoyable place to visit, socialize, and enjoy campus life.2 points

I see that the new football schedule still shows TBA on the times for all the games. Does anyone know when those times will be announced and when we can start purchasing single game tickets?? I'm anxious to purchase my ticket for the game in Austin!!1 point

TCU finished ranked (AP poll) 6,7,2, and 14 in the four years leading up to their move to the Big XII. If they weren't ready to move up, then no team ever will be. Also, it's not like their first season in the Big XII was a disaster. They won 7 games, lost a very close bowl game to Michigan State, and beat UT on the road. Doesn't sound so bad to me. This past season was a down year, and it would have been a disappointment in either the MWC or the Big XII. Every team in the nation has a down year now and then. As for men's basketball, both TCU and the Big XII knew they were going to struggle for at least a few years. In the four years prior to joining the Big XII, they finished 5-11, 5-11, 1-15, and 7-7 in the MWC. The conference move was about football and nothing more.1 point

Wait, I don't know if I need to -1 this comment because you're talking about -1'ing. I'll let it slide this time, in the name of education, but I'm watching you CMJ.1 point

What do you mean by act? Do you mean shut down plants and kill jobs? Do you mean killing cows and humans to lessen CO2 output? Act means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. You are going to have to be a bit more specific. I do think we should do what we can WITHOUT AFFECTING JOBS OR ECONOMIC OUTPUT to live cleaner.1 point

Single game tickets probably won't be on sale to mid July or early August. The best change to get that Austin ticket is to get season tickets as they will be the first choice at tickets. We can work with you on becoming a season ticket holder if you want to give me a call. Thanks! 940-369-53801 point

It may be a fact that if (and that is a HUGE if) NT wins out there is an outside shot of getting a bye in the tournament but I think we also need other teams to lose as well (and not just the teams we play). Your eternal pom-pom waving has worn a lot of people out. I think that is what gets you the negative points more than anything else.1 point

UNT90, no one is saying the world's ending. That kind of garbage comes from the religious kooks. What the scientists are saying is that anthropogenic climate change threatens our way of life - that our kids will live in a degraded world. That seems simple enough.1 point

As did Keith Chapman, Richard DeFelice and Umar Muhamad. Chapman kicked for the AFL's Original Dallas Texans. Brad Winn was an OL man for Toronto. One of the Dickey era players played for the Dallas Desperados, Evan Cardwell. Here is a list of players that played. http://www.arenafan.com/players/?type=college&college=North+Texas1 point

So we won? Wow. I had to dig through the thread to try and figure that out. Last night I was driving all around the DFW area during game time, but didn't even think to click on the game. Far cry from a couple of years ago when I honestly climbed 50 feet up an East Texas tree to pick up a game against LA-Monroe. My how things change.1 point

Yes, you are correct. I graduated in 1966 from DHS and we did, indeed, have black students and black athletes at DHS. In fact our student-body elected athletic favorite for 1966 was not only a black football player named Jimmy Harris. Sort of bothered me that this film attempts to make so much out of that 1970's period when integration at DHS both in the student body and in athletics took place years before. But, it is a great film and deserves positive reviews.1 point

Agreed. I was hoping we would beat ODU and start a 5 game win streak. Hopes dashed... Let's just remember anything can happen in the tournament. If we win it and make the tournament I would be relatively pleased.1 point

It's called speculation. Everyone does it. I said the same thing about Oklahoma when people said they were a poor team yet when they made the top 25 no one said a word... I said SFA would lose few games this year and they were a solid team (although losing by 30 was sad...). When they kept winning no one said a word. Seems everyone else just picks and choses. If I change my opinion at least I address it.1 point

Ok, let me try this again....I posted earlier a request that folks try to honor the spirit of this thread and not try to derail it. We have had a couple of folks try to derail it already. This is a thread to help our coaches in the player draft for the GMG.Com game. I would gently ask that those not playing and not supporting this project not post in this thread. There are plenty of others available. Thank you1 point

Hopefully, this means you are playing this year as it is a thread to help our coaches (UNT90 and Andrew) in the player draft. Can't figure out why anyone not playing would want to troll this thread, so...I can count you in, right? Would be great to have you with us for this one. What size t-shirt for you? Please folks...if you are not playing in the game, please refrain from trying to derail this thread. It is meant to help our coaches and players. There are plenty of other threads where you can post. Thanks for your understanding and help with this.1 point
