David Moore just said our recruiting class is very underrated on the ticket, he spoke more highly of our recruits than SMU.10 points

When I saw the Chumley signing. Big QB. With all the big receivers. And, the kid OU overlooked at Southmoore because they are scouring the country for tall WRs.... Not just that. But, you add in the bowl win, the hiring of an excellent DL coach, and the suck that SMU and TCU are throwing down in their new conferences.... And, the prospect of new and varied uniforms, the comfort zone of the new facilities.... I hope this past season and this signing class are the big corner turner many have waited decades to see. And, whatnot. Thanks, RV!8 points

Anyone down here in Houston planning to (or at least thinking about) going? Tipoff is at 7pm. I'm going to try to get out of the office early, and grab something to eat at Jasons's Deli beforehand. Should be there 5 - 5:30. Maybe go to Baker St. Pub after the game. Tickets are $12, $15, or $30. To sit behind the NT bench, you'll want section 111 or 211. http://www.riceowls.com/tickets/m-baskbl-tickets.html Visitor parking is apparently in the lot on the west side of the stadium, with the entrance on Greenbriar, $1/day. There's nothing listed about hours, so I'm guessing it's still $1 in the evening. http://parking.rice.edu/Content.aspx?id=177 Here's a link for Google maps showing walking directions for everything. The walk to Tudor Fieldhouse / Autry Court can undoubtedly be shortened by cutting across the parking lots: http://goo.gl/maps/jU8iz It's a small gym - here's a picture:6 points

This bit is bound to die at some point, right? If for no other reason it's gotta run out of material...I mean, "the best thing to do for a basketball program AND a group of it's loyal seniors is to bring back the terrible coach who as failed them both in terms of their personal development and their collegiate athletic accomplishment aspirations" just has to be near the bottom of the bull-shit bucket, right? Right?4 points

The listed offers on the major recruiting services out to our signees. Going to count Caleb Chumley even though he appears to be grayshirting, thus would count towards next year's signing class. Offers may not have all been committable when these guys committed to us, but they were offered by these P5 (formerly BCS) schools at some point. P5 offers -Colorado (Tee Goree) -Iowa State (Fonzale Davis) -Missouri (Caleb Chumley) -Oregon State (Caleb Chumley) -Kansas (Caleb Chumley) -Indiana (Jalen Adams) -Iowa (Andrew Jones) -Purdue (Brandon Garner) Not to mention OU came knocking late with Andrew Jones and Arkansas expressed late interest in Tee Goree. Maybe more schools not publicized, not just with them but with the other commits. A few other notable schools we beat out for multiple players -Toledo (Fonzale Davis, Willy Ivery) -Colorado State (Tee Goree, Willy Ivery, Fonzale Davis) -Nevada (Chris Miles, Fonzale Davis) -San Diego State (Chris Miles, Tee Goree) -Houston (Caleb Chumley, Chris Miles) -Memphis (Tee Goree, Caleb Chumley) -La Tech (Tee Goree, Caleb Chumley) Offer lists are right up there with film for me as far as what is most important when looking at recruits. I personally value offer lists above film because I trust D1 coaches scouting abilities over my own. Although we all know some guys inevitably get overlooked. I don't discredit star ratings either, just below those 2 for me. Great class according to all 3!3 points

Looks like we got a few guys who were great students as well: Jalen Montgomery: Montgomery earned second-team academic allstate honors from the THSCA his senior season Chris Miles: first-team academic all-state honors by the THSCA his senior season Connor Means: earned academic all-state honorable mention honors from the THSCA his senior season...As a junior Means was named ... academic all-state by the THSCA Tillman Johnson: two-time academic all-district selection his junior and senior season.3 points

I really like the look of the black and green. It would also be sharp to take that same uniform and make the black area green and the green area white... Do this on both the jersey and pants. Then take that "green" one and reverse the colors again for our "white" uniforms. As far as the helmet. Are we a big enough time school yet to have two? Could we have green helmet with the black SOW like the one that debuted on Halloween, as well as the a black or Carbon Fiber one like from the Heart of Dallas Bowl?3 points

FYI- Amtrak has tickets from Ft. Worth to San Antonio on Fri, Nov 28 for $34. Train depot in SA is next to the Alamodome and within walking distance to all downtown hotels and the Riverwalk. Travel time is listed as close to 7 hrs but thats 7 hrs of conversing, partying, with fellow Mean Green fans instead of sitting in traffic on I-35. Return trip on Sunday morning will cost you $542 points

For those who really dislike the star system, Miles may be your guy. I'd say it's a shame he's not a 3-star (1 point shy on 247 at a 79), but it doesn't matter in the end. He's got big-time size, film, and offer list. Check it out. One of the best offer lists of our o-line signees in a while. 12+ offers from schools from across the country, from the Pacific coast (San Diego State) all the way to the Atlantic coast (Yale and Harvard). Glad he settled on a school in between.http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Christopher-Miles-150444 http://247sports.com/Recruitment/Christopher-Miles-30226/RecruitInterests2 points

Absolutely. Just like SSP said earlier, those Carthage boys are great additions. Goree and Rutherford. Great job by the staff locking him up and keeping him.2 points

I have this vision of many from GMG.com pacing the floor like a soon-to-be or expectant father. Keep those faxes a-comin-, new Mean Green signees! GMG! PS: And David Moore who applauded our class on "The Ticket" must have seen BillySee58's UNT recruit's rankings list?2 points

Sorry, not a fax. But a vine of our Carthage boys signing/getting ready to sign. Courtesy of the awesome Gabe Brooks. Also, if Fortenberry was the only grayshirt then we may only sign 22 this year (including the walkons, FBS transfer, grayshirt, JUCOs, and high school guys) if Chumley, Jackson, and Graham all end up grayshirting and we don't get any surprise signees today. A surprise signee or two would be nice, as would be bringing in one or two of those three grayshirting guys in a semester early for fall camp, but however many under 25 we sign this year, we can go over by that many next year.2 points

They were both playing Free Safety last year. John had started out as a strong safety but the moved him to FS pretty early in the season. He actually knows both positions and the corner positions as well. Busby got a few reps at FS and was played on 1 Sp T and John started on 4 special teams and didn't see the field in a skill position last year. Zed IS the fastest back we have with John at a close second. Busby was more seasoned at the start of last fall but moved down the depth chart. It really is a situation of some of these players being able to remember the plays. Athletically, they are all pretty even for FS across the board. BUT, leadership and field smarts will level out who wins this spot next year. (But, I'm pretty sure Zed will start as FS. Can't see Warner being consistent.) Trice was an exceptionally smart player and made plays because of it. He was also a huge leader. My money is on possible position changes for a few of these athletes and an unclear starter up to the first conference game.2 points

dude...these are concepts & mock ups...that apparently inspired the Athlectic Dept. this last year. So my argument to you, would be that they are "effective" concepts & mock ups. MeanGreener- Have you taken your anger management pill today?2 points

this needs to be UNT's uniform mix!!!! Throw the SOW in there for HC, senior day, and/or bowl games. But this mix needs to happen!!!!!!!! These are clean and catches the eye of casual fans, recruits, and MGN will love these! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!2 points

6A Region I will include the Arlington powers, Guyer, Ryan, Allen, Hebron, Trinity, Carroll, Coppell, Cedar Hill, and De Soto. That was the biggest news of the day statewide regarding realignment, and that particular district was the epicenter for it. Pretty big deal.2 points

This kind of reasoning is flawed. It suggests that if we allowed our superior music program to become mediocre, it would somehow spell success for sports. A university collectively thrives as more areas thrive, not as other areas are neglected. Symbiosis, my friend.2 points
