hey, guys... i'm feeling good about this one... it's Alabama-Birmingham... not the REAL powerhouse of the state... Alabama-HUNTSVILLE I think we only lose this one by 3... moral victories for everyone!4 points

**Dad Joke Alert** Who wants to go to a school when your future conversations would go like this: "Where'd you go to school?" "Uh" "Uh, what?" "Uh" "Seriously, where did you attend college?" "Uh" "Good grief man, does the cat have your tongue?" "Uh"4 points

Not related, but this photo just reminded me that we need to put the Mean Green Battle Flag on the back of the helmets where they (in the above photo) have the outline of Texas. (We currently on the green helmets, have the Stars and Stripes on the right side of the helmet just above the helmet safety warning fine print, player numbers in the middle and nothing on the left.)4 points

This is the easiest question of the day. Answer: We knew the day that he got injured and was still within the first four games of the season. The injury report was submitted to the conference and automatically approved. It only becomes an issue requiring NCAA approval if Dajon needs a 6th year to complete his 4 years of eligibility. Natural after a visit, especially with the pressure put in this late in the game. He didn't commit, which says more than any retwit that he may send out. Hopefully, he comes to UNT next weekend and never leaves.2 points

I was in college at UNT from 2000-2003, so that era is very nostalgic for me. I'm not sure if 2002 or 2013 is better. And I have no idea about any teams prior to 2000. One thing I do know is that the program is in much better shape now. As great as the 2001-2004 teams were, I always felt that they were nearish the top of our program's potential at the time. Now it seems like the sky is the limit.2 points

Akina is most likely going to end up at Cal. He is a good DB coach, but I feel pretty damn good about the one we have.1 point

Don't mean to be disrespectful to the young man from Commerce, but I would give Arbuckle his spot as a preferred walk-on. Krolcyk looked good in his two play highlight.1 point

I don't know how you do this gracefully, or who you move, but I would go after both of these young men and find a place for them now!1 point

This usually means grades or he's waited so long that most of the schools that offered him have filled his position and no longer really have offers for him. I've heard Lufkin DT D.J. Williams, who had OU and Miami offers, may be facing that problem. InsideTexas reported that he's visiting Mizzou this weekend. He does have a North Texas offer.1 point

You can't compare Denton or B/CS or Waco to San Antonio or Houston or Dallas. The basis of this breakdown is flawed. Of course you want kids close to home. But that doesn't mean you'd take Muenster kids over Texarkana or Longview or Lufkin kids, or Sanger kids over Navasota or Cameron or Brenham kids.1 point

Very impressive looking group of WRs. While I'm very pleased with the product on the field the past couple of seasons, I'm worried that it hasn't translated into more success on the recruiting trail. That being said, I probably noticed the improvement earlier than many of these recruits. With the key losses NT will face, I'm concerned about maintaining that momentum going into next season. Let's hope some of these recruits hit campus ready to roll.1 point

Just supplying information that I thought NT fans might enjoy. No clue if Mac is recruiting any of these kids or not. http://texashsfootball.com/2014/01/20/texas-hs-football-hidden-gems-part-2/1 point

What a case of the P envy with this fan base. Always on our board trying to justify their existence. Much likeTech to A&M, or some of us to SMU. We don't care about you and will never respect you. The sooner you get that through your thick Sorta Almost head and leave us be, the better.1 point

Many of us share your frustration and concerns, Cooley. Seems most G5 football programs rarely get 3 stars and up DL's. Think I read somewhere that most of that group seem to always want Big Time U. Most G5's have to recruit them as projects, grow em' up in the weight room and then depend on their development aided by a good coaching staff like we have at North Texas. Perhaps, Richard Abbe being one of those kind of players and he is now even being talked up as a possible NFL draft choice.1 point

If our offer is still good we should get this guy. We may regret no doing so.1 point

He played in the JUCO ranks. Won Offensive POTY in his conference and had a couple Offensive POTW honors nationally. I'd be lying if I said the QB change doesn't concern me though. After having a dual threat guy our first three years it'll take a while to get used to a pocket passer like Carter. Like Digi said though, he does have a bigger arm than Soza so who knows maybe it's a positive bc it opens up the playbook. Well just have to see.1 point

Still as delusional about UNT's academic prestige as you are about their football program, eh?1 point

Does anyone know what they have in mind? Doubtful. If this is only about stipends then certainly the majority, probably all, FBS institutions will support that legislation. If it concerns a playoff system exclusively for the Power5 conferences then I'd suspect that they would have a lawsuit on their hands. Ditto if they try to usurp more TV revenue unless they have a formula that is fair to all.1 point

Stop it, man. You are making too much damn sense and we know that 'll get you negged around here.1 point

Harry you are right about Soza being a difference maker but he had one weakness which was arm strength. Tucker Carter has a great arm and opens up the play book even more. Last year we relied on the short passing game, jet sweeps to keep our WRs involved but now we should be able to add a vertical passing game. UTSA is returning their entire WR corps, Oline and starting RB. The offense should be in good shape UTSA will be decimated by graduations in 2015 but it’s up to the coaching staff to bring in quality JUCO talent to plug holes left by the seniors. This year is definitely the year we want to make our first bowl appearance happen1 point

Denton native Jordan Malone also made the US team as a multi event speed skater. Maybe NT should add bob sled and speed skating to our list of sports. Beat Texas GO MEAN GREEN1 point

Damn sounds like GMG thinks Soza should've gotten Heisman consideration. The extremes y'all go to to convince yourselves UTSA won't be good. lol1 point

Why can't UNT "prance" around like that? Do we have to be in a power conference to have a great marching band? No! If Michigan, Texas, Ohio State and the other six, top marching bands in college football are considered the top bands, why can't UNT be number 10? Top 20? Become a college showcase band that people really want to see and hear perform. Take advantage of your strengths. Music. Want to be a conductor? Let an aspiring music major go conduct one of the Denton HS bands on Friday nights for his/her credit hours.1 point
