  1. We go 8-4, one game away from the CUSA West title after the crap we endured the last decade and some of you can only criticize our QB. That qualifies as "douche bag esque" in my book. Enjoy this season!

  2. How did the three teams exiting CUSA for the AAC fare in their final week of conference play? East Carolina - 28 Marshall - 59 Tulsa - 10 North Texas - 42 Tulane - 13 Rice - 17 Conference pride is a sweet, sweet thing!

  4. A very DTesque game. 17-26 for 173 yds and 1 int. QBR rating of 57.5(50 is considered average)

  5. You mean the 11-1 UCF who has beaten Penn State, S. Carolina, a previously unbeaten Louisville and the Houston team that just blew out SMU? Yeah, I'll stand by what I said.

  6. Plan to leave it until after the CUSA championship game to remind everyone who cost us a chance at a conference title.

  7. One of the best experiences as a student at North Texas was yesterday at the Tulsa game. It felt good to be Mean Green. I was a member of the group who signed up for SGA's charted bus from UNT to Tulsa. We left at 8am and arrived back on campus at 10pm. Why was there a victory that wasn't mentioned? Our fans at that game rocked that entire stadium. I really believe it was due to all the students that were shuttled from campus. There were about 40 of us in the endzone starting most of the chants. Accidental or not we happened to be leaders in all different departments and organizations across campus. We started 95% of the NORTH TEXAS that everyone was hearing on the broadcast, including DEFENSE and BLOCK THAT PUNT (again). So kudos to SGA for doing this.. this should be done for pretty much every away game next season. Our fans even when we were down 7-10 Tulsa, were on their feet and loud. Tulsa even turned up their sound system to try and block us out. Their 17,792 attendance could not block us out. The field marshals/security people were even making snide remarks at us. I believe that we blew that stadium up and roared with only 800-900 fans. I am happy that we gave UNT Football the love that they deserve.

  8. And yes, I know, here I am talking about two Big 12 schools with Baylor & TCU compared to a school in Conference-USA, but consider this which might make some degree of sense: If Baylor was ever going to win a Big 12 football championship wouldn't this have been the season for the Top 10 Bears to do so? Well, they won't this year or the next or the next--that's just the way it will most always be in the Big 12 for the private schools Just too many UT, OU's and OSU's for that to ever happen for the Bears or the TCU Frogs. TCU will most likely have a few bright moments from time to time much like in their old SWC days.......but just watch & see-- they will be like the TCU of that old (now defunct) Southwest Conference and spend most of their Big 12 years in its 2'nd division & when the Frogs are actually bowl elgible (which they are not this bowl season) they will play in similar bowl games North Texas will be participating. So does said Texas HS or JUCO recruits want to play on a Big 12/2'nd Division TCU and play in a bowls like the Liberty, Holiday, Military or Hawaii Bowls or does that same recruit want to come help the University of North Texas Mean Green win a few Conference USA football championships and play in bowls no different than 2'nd division TCU (and many years even Baylor) will be playing in? UNT's time is now--we need to put a string of winning seasons together with sellouts at Apogee Stadium (which I almost believe our growth will cause us to back into such crowds eventually). GMG!

Outstanding.

  14. I totally agree! This has been a great season. Thank you DT for being the leader of our bowl bound team!

  15. DT has almost the exact same stats he did last year when everyone, including Mac, said we needed better QB play. We are 8-4, and he is the QB, so he does deserve some of the credit, but we're light years better on defense and special teams...which has led to several wins on their own

  17. Berglund has a better arm and is more accurate then anyone we have on the team. Fact!

  18. That's the stock answer, but we don't actually know why. How many audibles did DT call this year? I just feel like we could've developed Berglund's or Williams' skills this year and won just as many, and probably more games this year. They would've progressed as the year went along but oh well. Can't complain with our results. Really was a great season and a great job by everyone involved.

  19. I have been Anti-DT all year and still am. The reason we are 8-4 is strictly because of our defense and with out them who knows where we would be. Our ground game won today not Thompson. He is still unathletic and lacks ball control. Yeah he is one of the top leaders in a bunch of all time passing stats but if you start as many games as he has, of course it will add up. That's great that we have won eight games and I couldn't be happier for this program. I also couldn't be happier that DT is a senior. Long live coach Mac!!!!!

  22. That 91 yard Brandin Byrd TD run goes out to all of the people that think we run too much. I will agree, though . . . There was a LOT of running on that play.

  27. Re: UNT by CargoGunki » Sat Nov 30, 2013 9:24 pm Losing to UNT would not only embarrassing to the program but also to the conference. Really dude? Your team sucks...SMU draws like nobody to their games, and the stadium is in the middle of Dallas, within walking distance of thousands of residents....You pay your coach 2 million dollars for 5 wins... Any embarrassment SMU or it's mighty conference suffers has been done long before you play UNT. Idiot...

  28. He actually said...one of only 3 teams in program history to have five wins in November. But you have to realize that teams didn't used to start their seasons until mid to late November. It probably wasn't possible to have 5 wins that early till about 15 years ago.

  29. Good to see. Should have stayed in same conference. Would have filled each other's stadiums.

  30. DT was average this season which is definitely better than having a below average quarterback. I will gladly take the eight wins and hope he plays well enough to help us win the bowl game. My opinion of DT (as a player, he seems a outstanding young man) would certainly be different had he had a "Miracle in the Desert" moment but he ended two potential come-from-behind wins with game-ending interceptions. If he had made just one of those comebacks happen, he would be a hero to all of us. We can win with DT, but we have rarely won because of him. I will be excited to have a running threat taking snaps for us next year.

  32. I know the answer for like 5 of the guys, but I was wondering if anyone could provide a comprehensive look at each of the members of this past class? Who never played a snap, who played a few snaps but will probably get a redshirt (Dajon), who played (Z. Evans, D. Kidsy), etc? Edit: updated with information provided in the following replies Quenton Brown Chad Davis Sed Ellis Zed Evans James Jones Chris Loving Darvin Kidsy Justin Manu Shawn McKinney Calvin Minor Sid Moore Cody Nelson Wylie Reinhardt John Schilleci Fred Scott Turner Smiley Harrison Sorge Andrew Tucker Dominick Walker Dajon Williams

  37. Yup. 2640 yards, 14 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions this year, 2629 yards, 14 touchdown passes and 14 interceptions last year.

  38. Credit where credit is due this year: higher completion percentage, fewer interceptions, and higher QB rating compared to last year. While all marginal increases--still better than last year. DT has done an admirable job this year, and he did seem to minimize some mistakes that he has made in the past.

  39. Thanks Billy! I didn't count Pegram, Berglund, and Terrell since they were here last fall redshirting, but a good catch, nonetheless

  40. Not slated to start. LaChris Anyiam was ahead of him but he was supposed to be in the rotation. Don't forget, Pegram, Berglund, and Terrell were part of that class as well. I believe the redshirts were Nelson, Walker, Minor, Moore, Loving, Smiley, Sorge, Tucker, and Dajon Williams.
