Twenty seniors will make their final appearance at Apogee this Saturday. Through their leadership North Texas will have their first winning season in their new stadium. We need to be in the stadium early to honor these young men. We are looking at a potential eleven-win season. Two or three of these could be future NT Hall of Fame members. We need to come salute them for the work that they have done to right this ship. We need 13.153 for this game to assure a 20,000 season attendance average. But...a crowd of 25,153 would raise the average to 22,000; a good start for us to do our share in Conference USA. Every member needs to step up as we will lose our perennial attendance leader, East Carolina, to another conference. Yes, I know that the weather will not be pleasant but dress warmly and stay as long as you can to thank these seniors (and coaches and underclassmen) for their remarkable accomplishments. It will be one of the good memories that you'll cherish for the rest of your life.

Was sitting at a stop light the other day and looked up to see a couple in UTSA gear walking through the cross walk. Floored it, ran the red light, but got em' both.

LOL - Why are you guys so proud of playing in some place you rent? It isn't your stadium. Stop bragging about it. Especially since I know every single one of you would love to have an on-campus stadium. You act as if Apogee fell out of the sky and it just landed in our back yard. We earned that stadium: The students voted to pass a fee. I know you guys have problems with students supporting UTSA, but here they want a successful program. The alumni stepped up and donated money for it. Some gave millions, some gave thousands, but they gave. The administration went out and found major corporate donors. Those donor's didn't give some free chicken coupons, they gave millions of dollars. So if you come here Saturday, enjoy a real college atmosphere. When Boomer goes off, find out why he has 12 brass screws, that's called tradition. Those 10,000 people just behind your teams bench? Those are called student's attending a football game. The place you are sitting in? That's called a 78 million dollar commitment, not a rental.

Maybe it's just me, but I find it amusing that two people that have stoked this UTSA fire the most are UNT90 and meangreener, and now they are backing out. UNT90, you have no reason not to join. As you've stated on another thread, and I'm paraphrasing..."Vegas should've set the line at UNT-30". Since we're gonna win by 31, you're nothing but a trophy that the birds will never bag. I only say this because your continued condescending stance and comments towards UTSA show that you notice them. I agree that Rice is the desired conference rival, but I've also remained completely out of most of these UTSA threads. I don't consider them a rival, so I don't even check out most of these threads. I think UNT will win 24-14. Some score that hovers around the money line. Hopefully UTSA can make y'all slip on some frying oil. Who knows maybe we'll get lucky and y'all will trip over some of our wing bones. Maybe the field will be so greasy and crumbly a few balls will slide our way. UNT isn't used to playing such juicy fried chicken. Maybe our special teams will assist like an attached Taco Bell and provide some more options for UTSA. I was wearing one of my basketball t-shirts in the Reno airport this past summer when a guy walks up and says 'North Texas!?' I said yes and mentioned that we are season ticket holders for the men's team and the guy identified himself as a coach at wake forest for the ladies team. He snapped a pic of me wearing the shirt on the plane and said he was sending it to Peterson with a comment about mean green nation being everywhere.

The Athletic Department used the idea about tons of posters and hashtags this week and seemingly ran with it--the new posters they plastered all over campus say #hit30k, #FillApogee and a bunch of the usual ones with some info about the team's success! Very similar but more football related than the ones the SAA made (which were totally awesome.) Hope we can hit that goal.

I think posters should go back to responding to every UTSA post with some variation of a chicken .gif. It takes less effort and you don't need to think so hard (a win/win)

Maybe a thread should be started with the title...."Why Do UNT Folks Always Think Someone Else Does It Better?" This sort of crap-ola is getting a bit tired. "Why can't we" do this or that when some other university comes up with a different message, ad program, promotion, uniform, rap video, etc., etc. Maybe folks should actually open their eyes and ears to all the great stuff happening around UNT these days and focus a tad more on the greatness that is UNT rather than something some other university is doing. What is Indiana's record this year so far? I believe it is 4-6 and looking like no bowl for the Hoosiers. I believe UNT is 7-3 and bowl bound, right? And, as I recall...UNT beat Indiana the last time they met on the football field...at Apogee no less! Maybe Indiana should figure out how to win a football game from UNT and not worry so much about a student rap video done in fun.

Having had to make "fun" skits for my corporate job that 1) didn't get me fired 2) had some shred of humor after four rounds of Senior Management Review, I can appreciate the tight rope the kids from the Union staff had to walk. It is corny and kind of terrible and that's why it warms my heart a little.

However, now that I think about it, how could I have expected some of you to like this since you don't even get half of what they're saying. Anyways, great video and great showcase of the increasing level of student pride floating around campus. UNT on the rise!

Okie State lost to 4-7 WVU. Really a powerhouse there. Stanford lost to 4-6 Utah. Really a powerhouse there. South Carolina lost to 4-6 Tennessee. Really a powerhouse there. At least UCF won. UCF's only loss was to a top 15 team. These teams ranked ahead of UCF lost to teams with losing records. And I'm not even counting close wins or losses to unranked teams.
