Was sitting at a stop light the other day and looked up to see a couple in UTSA gear walking through the cross walk. Floored it, ran the red light, but got em' both.8 points

If Rice played UNT 10 times in a row on a nuetral field, by the 10th game Rice would be starting an unknown walk-on at QB.8 points

We've won at home this year with dark green, light green, black, white helmets, green helmets, flying worms, SOWs, and North Texas. Saturday, we win with the blood of the roadrunner.5 points

Dad passed away after my sophomore year of high school. When the college hunt began, I knew I needed somewhere affordable and still close to home for Mom. I was really interested in the arts. I was primarily focused on music, theater and film. North Texas had it all. I went to a private high school that didn't rank students, and thus I didn't get into UNT when I first applied. I was determined to get into the school since it fit my criteria. I appealed and pleaded my case and was accepted based on various teacher recommendations. It wasn't until I announced that I was going to North Texas that some of my Dad's friends asked if I was only going there because my Dad went there. At the time, I hadn't put together that UNT was formerly NTSU where he'd graduated. Dad chose NTSU because after his Dad passed, he wanted to stay close to home for his Mom. I didn't know much about my Father's time at NTSU, but when going through his things, I discovered his mini NTSU diploma in his wallet. Throughout my time at school and to this day I still carry his mini diploma in my wallet. My younger brother wanted to get a little farther away from home and started school at UTSA, but then transferred to UNT to also study RTVF. It was never planned, but my brother and I both graduated from every school our Dad did. Just worked out that way. The craziest part didn't come until my senior year at NT. I never knew what my Dad did in his time at NTSU. I took to the archives and found a photo of him cutting radio for a KNTU broadcast. All three of us had studied RTVF.5 points

Yes. And not that I give a damn about him, but its examples like this that needs to be pointed out to rubes like Craig Miller who has spewed years of misinformation concerning our "Spare" program that fall's back on a single player from 40 years ago and named our team after him for our only identitiy and recognition. Thought y'all would enjoy this. A couple of my friends found it at Shop The Barn off the Denton Square and got it for me for my birthday. I plan on framing it and putting it up in my office.4 points

I know we have put together a pretty decent class for 2014 so far, but how much better will it get? WHEN we win our last two games does it put us over the top with recruits? Does the Desoto pair jilt the frogs? Do the Carthage wideouts jump onboard? Wil we get 3-4 D-Linemen like Xavier Washington to sign so we can replenish this defense? How heavily can we capitalize on this momentum?4 points

Hey Harry - perhaps the SOW avatar they have to post for a week should have the final score at the bottom of it as well.4 points

Doesn't matter what they wear. We are going to win this game. There's really no alternative.4 points

ECU is a seasoned, CUSA title team. A championship match would not be their first go-round and would demand the utmost respect from our players and staff.4 points

Thought That I was going to Rutgers, TCU, or Michigan, found out my senior year that my parents would not be assisting me as they assisted my sister. Thank god I had also applied to UNT as well. Fell in love with Denton. Met my best friends in my life here. Graduated in Dec. 2008, started in 1997 (my decade of "education"). I stayed due to Diet Coke.4 points

Because of our recent success, I will be really disappointed if we drop the next two. Why? Because North Texas controls it's own destiny. For us to be up against two beatable opponents and not take advantage of it... well it could hamper spirit, maybe even the growth of the program. We may not have an opportunity like this again. I've been a fan long enough to have that sense of impending doom. When will the other shoe drop? That's what the past decade of football has done to me. I think it's extremely important we take care of business the next two games.4 points

you should take out a second mortgage and go crazy. I suggest making a very large bet on the game with that kind of confidence. Like stealing candy from a baby4 points

I have an idea for a t-shirt. Picture a black t-shirt with kelly green sleeves and kelly green collar. The front in large bold white font would read: GO MEAN GREEN! Then on one sleeve I'd have the UNT Alumni Association logo with "Collin County" under it, both in black. On the back, I would have the following in white: THE STAND! North Texas Mean Green vs. Rice Owls | Halloween Night 2013 1st and Goal at NT 1: Darik Dillard rush for a loss of 2 yards to the NoTex 3, tackled by Marcus Trice. 2nd and Goal at NT 3: Taylor McHargue rush for 2 yards to the NoTex 1, tackled by Brandon McCoy. 3rd and Goal at NT 1: Jeremy Eddington rush for a loss of 5 yards to the NoTex 6, tackled by Zach Orr. 4th and Goal at NT 6: North Texas penalty 3 yard holding accepted. 1st and Goal at NT 3: Darik Dillard rush for 1 yard to the NoTex 2, tackled by Will Wright. 2nd and Goal at NT 2: Taylor McHargue pass incomplete to Jordan Taylor. 3rd and Goal at NT 2: Darik Dillard rush for no gain to the NoTex 2, tackled by James Jones. 4th and Goal at NT 2: Timeout Rice 4th and Goal at NT 2: Taylor McHargue sacked by Lairamie Lee for a loss of 11 yards to the NoTex 13. TURNOVER ON DOWNS What do you think? Profits would go to the Alumni Association. I'd have to run all this past KRAM1 and company. Just brainstorming. For a reasonable price, would I have any takers? I use a person that has no setup fee and no minimum orders, which would make it relatively easy to pull this off and do reorders as necessary.4 points

Correct me if I'm wrong but is there anything besides the Spurs to cheer for in San Antonio? UTSA did not get into Conference USA because of their uprising football team. YOU keep talking about a market and labeling us as DFW.... We are one of 3 FBS teams in the DFW area that also houses the Mavs, Cowboys and the Rangers. There's a lot to care about in DFW. UTSA was gifted this conference because you have a heavily populated area that doesn't have to compete with other teams to pack a stadium or gymnasium. NOT BECAUSE THEY COULD SEE UTSA BECOMING A POWERHOUSE out of the gate. Don't mistake in the fact that this is all about money and numbers... Like you said.... market, market, market....This is been retorted many times, but respect is earned and nobody knows anything about you guys. For example..... your BCS ranking is 9999.... we are all confused. YOUR story is irrelevant because you have no history. Our story for this season has been nothing short of a Cinderella story that could quite possibly be on the Hallmark Channel one day. Just because you're sitting at the same table as us doesn't mean that you've earned your right to speak at it. If you were approaching us as number one in the division, it may be slightly different- but until then.... don't try to convince us that we are the same. We are equals when we step out on the field on Saturday, but our programs are not equal.3 points

But then I realized this is the last time some of the Mean Green greats will be taking the field at home. Zach Orr, Brelan Chancellor, Marcus Trice, Derek Thompson (he's a fixture of this team and the leader despite opinions over his play), etc...this is their last home game. They're going to want to send this team out in style. I trust completely in the Mean Green. Maybe the first time this year I've been totally confident. Maybe that's a bad thing if you believe in juju. But for the first time ever, I'm completely confident we'll get it done. We need to all be there to show these guys their effort and dedication to our school is not unnoticed. (And I know there's a possibility of...things...but I won't talk about that now.)3 points

As cool as that'd be, it's not enough of a foregone conclusion that that'll happen. We need some help to host the conference title game. I think our players and seniors should and will treat it like their last home game. But you know that.3 points

Another casualty from that infamous 2013 class; that never made it to Denton (grades). Since he really wants to come here, why not sign him in the spring or summer after he graduates?3 points

Put on my green tennis shoes and I boarded the plane Touched down in the land of the Liberty Bowl In the middle of a green parade Coach Dan McCarney Won't you look down over me Yeah, I got a Liberty Bowl ticket and I'm as green as a boy can be Then I'm bowling in Memphis I was walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale Bowling in Memphis Is this really real? I saw the ghost of Hayden on Union Avenue Followed him up to the gates of the stadium Then I watched him walk right through Now, security did not see him They just hovered round the entrance But there's a pretty major bowl game Waiting for the fans And it's down on the Memphis field When I was bowling in Memphis I was walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale Bowling in Memphis Is this really real? Now, they've got hot girls on the sidelines They've touchdowns on the field And Coach MaCarney, be glad to see you When you haven't got a prayer But boy you got a prayer in Memphis Now, Talons shoot the cannon And they run the flags after scores And they brought me down to field level And they asked me if I would Run the Big Ass Flag And I ran with all my might They said, "Tell me are a Mean Green fan?" And I said, "Man I am for life!" Bowling in Memphis I was walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale Bowling in Memphis Is this really real? Bellazin has been maybe the most unsung hero on the whole team all year, along with the defensive line as a whole. He has played like a first-team all-conference defensive end and he's leading the conference in sacks. Really having a great senior season.2 points
