Here is an idea. Hire a guy that has done it before. Like we should have done this last time. Like we were told WOULD be done this last time. Go get Sxott Cross. Solid coach who recruited good talent to, until recently, the worst facilities in NCAA D1. Don't wait. Dead RV, This thing is going to get out of control very quickly this year. Fix your freaking mistake. You have a perfect fill in for the rest if the year already as an assistant. Don't hesitate to do what you should have done immediately after Hot Springs. The Pit is the titanic, and the ice berg struck last yeAr. Lower the F'n lifeboats already!9 points

Wow. I'm gonna take the high road here. Considering I've worked my ass off for this, I'm a little offended though. Are you the Free Food @ UNT guy? Complained that I "stole" his idea? Would you like it if I came to your job or hobby and said you sucked at it? Keep it to yourself. I don't think you understand what my campaign is about. Considering the AD supports me, I could care less what you think.9 points

You are the reason that people get discouraged at UNT. Luckily people like you are not relevant anymore. Luckily I've been told to not let the downers get to me. I'm done arguing this. Go Mean Green.6 points

'I need a second to let the classiness waft over me.' Promotions is not about one thing. It's about: the team winning, what meangreener is doing, Beyond the Green, McCarney interviews, Zach Orr and Derek Thompson interviews, homecoming being on WFAA in the morning, highlights on Fox Sports Live/Sportscenter/NBC/CBS, Jub talking the team up, being on Fox Sports, Twitter, Facebook, everyone going around at the beginning of the season with posters, this website, football camps, YouTube videos, etc etc etc. Hell, even people wearing green around DFW is a huge promotion. This thing is catching fire because a lot of things are happening at the same time. A bunch of people tailgating at basketball games, turned into a few crazy people at the Super Pit, turned into the Pit Crew, turned into more people coming to games because they loved watching the PC in addition to the team. Any student, any alum, any fan showing support and going the extra mile will always be appreciated by me.6 points

KRAM post spoiler alert: All I hear from people on this board is just win. Well we won and people still aren't happy. Now we have to win a certain way?5 points

Looks like it'll be a rebuilding year. That's alright as long as the young guys come along. About that, how do our underclassmen look?5 points

http://www.nbcdfw.com/video/?_osource=SocialFlowFB_DFWBrand#!/news/local/UNT-Bowl-Eligible-for-the-First-Time/231212031 NBC 5 has a good video about the spirit on campus this week. Good Vid. Check it out! GO MEAN GREEN!4 points

I fundamentally disagree with the "bad win" stance. I do agree with ugly wins, which tonight was. Never-the-less, we were suppose to win and we did despite terrible shooting. I am still optimistic about the team and think that as we get use to new hand-check rules and chemistry grows with new players we can be competitive.4 points

I tried my best to take a panoramic. http://imgur.com/Nf0kFV3 The student side is packed. You're looking at the alumni side in the picture. Here's the alumni side at halftime, it's thinned, due to halftime and a blowout, but it was packed at the start too. http://imgur.com/Z63gjSV3 points

Maybe this is some flame where the real scrappy defeats this impostor during the halftime show.3 points

Which is why he should let the haters hate. Little Meangreener has done an outstanding job, no matter how many people he has Internet insulted along the way. There is no denying that fact.3 points

This thread is full of people singing is praises actually. I'm really starting to think Cougar Queen has fake accounts under UNT90 and greenit.3 points

So they've all pretty much sucked. Way to continue that tradition. 2004 and the last one are the best. This new one is off. Although I'm sure it's not, it looks a lot cheaper. And it doesn't resemble the sow or the renderings that were released. Maybe that's why it took so long to be released. It needs to be fixed.3 points

Are you telling me that NAIA Northwood dictated game play for the Mean Green? We had to take out the ever-improving Coleman because their lineup was small?!?3 points

Hey meangreener, I saw the WFAA Channel 8 piece on UNT's Homecoming. There was a student on their that used your rallying cry of "Hit 30k". That was awesome. Your efforts have definitely had an impact. Way to take the initiative.3 points

I appreciate all the support and sarcasm. It's been fun putting this thing together so far this season. Could have never imagined so many would enjoy it. Put a lot of time into getting this together. Now on the question of whether or not it will be posted again. I can say that there will not be another like this. That doesn't mean you wont get something. Lots of things to be determined in the next 2 weeks. Stay tuned. Again many thanks to all who stopped by and checked it out.3 points

NT 72 Northwood 67 Final Alzee is reason enough to pull for the team this season. Clutch effort by him tonight. I love that kid, have since he was a freshman, issues with Benford or not. This post has been promoted to an article3 points

I hear the freshman we didn't pull in are considering transferring further away.3 points

Not what I meant by you not being serious. We should beat the NAIA national champion by 30+. This was a team in it's second year of existence coming off a 4 win season in NAIA competition. This should've been a 50 point win at home. I haven't argued with you about your support for Benford, but this absolutely is not progress.2 points

Only free for everyone for game one. Alumni Pavillion is open to alumni plus one the rest of the year. Amiright?2 points

Right, because we surely wouldn't want that far better QB to play THIS year, would we? Or maybe you are talking about Conner Means domination that is coming?2 points

Confirmed today that the club level is completely sold out. Also told today that presales for this game had matched and headed for surpassing the opener vs UH. I went by the ticket office this afternoon around 4:00 to pick up some extras I bought and they looked FRAZZLED. People just kept coming in after me.2 points

"Looks like they just started the program and last season was their 1st year of existence -" I don't think this can be emphasized enough. I am sure some of our more vocal posters are gonna have a hard time driving home from this game due to the spin induced vertigo they're suffering.2 points

I'm reserving judgments on Benford until I see more, but who puts together these schedules? I know it's already been talked about but our OOC home games are just awful this year.2 points
-
is Friday's game an exhibition or does this one count? I might be the only person in the Mean Green Nation who is inclined to give ol' Tony more than one year to pass judgements. That being said, I have high expectations on this season.2 points
