Breaking down some of the amazing run-stopping ability of the defense. In case you are wondering, I'm saving THE STAND for later. #GMG http://meangreennation.com/film-room-stopping-the-run/6 points

Let's hassle the mess out of ESPN's College Football Final crew to see if we can get our guys a team helmet sticker. I'm sure Thursday games are rarely acknowledged on the show, but maybe a GMG.com campaign can do the trick... I think tweeting them using the info above is how to make our voice heard. I think I'm going to include the box score play by play image above but maybe a youtube video of the 8 plays would help. Does someone have The STAND isolated on youtube yet?4 points

After the game.. I asked an RA that was on call at McConnell Hall (Directly west of bruce) if they could hear anything from the game Halloween night from outside the hall.. She said that she could hear the NORTH..TEXAS.. Made the night even more special after the mean green crushed Rice....thought i would share.4 points

Not poo-pooing last nights most important win in program history. (History will prove it out.) BUT we did only score 14 offensive points. That fact has me concerned with regard to any opponent we face.4 points

The STAND feels like a defining moment in this season, if not Mac's tenure here. Hopefully, though, long-term defining moment is later in the season!3 points

So....do we light the tower, or the dumpster for an 8 point win over an NAIA school? Or both?3 points

Pulled in the data from jhowell's historical scores and graphed them out. Total win wise (against only D1-A/FBS level schools), this is the best team since Dickey's 2004 team. Most people know that. However, digging a little deeper I found this. After throwing out any wins against non-D1A/FBS opponents and ties from the earlier years, I measured the wins based on our opponent's win percentage (which included non-D1A, sorry I don't have that kind of time). Any loss was counted as a 0% for the opponent's percentage to bring the average down. I can't know for sure without putting in days worth of work, but without diving into every opponent's schedule ever to determine D1A vs. D1AA, it appears that this team so far is the best team UNT has fielded since Hayden Fry's 1978 Eagles. Kinda shines a different light on the contract extension discussion.2 points

I like Tulsa, but this win was good for us. * UTSA will be up for their home game against Tulane. * With a victory over Tulsa and possibly Tulane, UTSA will brind a significantly larger group to Apogee. This is a rivalry that we need to cultivate. * This demolition at home by UTSA may diminish the resolve of Tulsa, and a significant percent of their fan support will have quit on them by the time that we play there Thanksgiving weekend. That game may wind up being like a home game for North Texas.2 points

Wife went to be early, just hanging out with the dogs and watching the recording of the game last night with a little bit of wine. Gotta say this is the way to do it, enjoying the game a second time and trying to remind myself not to yell at the tv and wake the wife.... Love seeing all these plays again and can't wait to see The Stand! Even though obviously nothing is going to change since last night, something about the history of this program recently makes me hope that last night wasn't a dream.... Or that could be the wine talking...2 points

I am pretty sure our coaches would have preferred us being at a football game over the things we were usually out doing on Halloween.2 points

Agree with you here...Coleman did look much improved and was one of the better players last night in my opinion. Really did not think I would ever post something along those lines. Really good to see. Coach Benford said he was one of our most improved players. Just might be.2 points

I noticed that UNT's football has been playing well this year so I made it a point to watch the game last night because I used to live in Denton for about 6 months. This team that North Texas has is special. We all need to be rooting for Tulane to get a loss because this team deserves a shot to go head to head for the championship of CUSA. I am very happy about that. I got to see the awesome defense last night. I knew from the Georgia game that this team was good but I had no idea how good. Excited for you guys and I am definently cheering you guys to always win the CUSA title.2 points

I had a 2, 4, and 6 year old screaming and clapping along with my wife and I. We had all of the doors open and it was in the middle of trick-or-treating...pretty sure everybody thinks we're crazy. But then again, they didn't see that series. We were so sure they would give up and just try for the FG...nope, just chew up the clock WHEN YOU'RE LOSING and give it up! Does make you think about them not trying for a FG at the end of the 1st half though...another one here at the end instead of 8 failed attempts into the end zone would have put them less than a score away from us. That's what they get for being greedy, I guess...they went for 7 both times and failed on both drives, when getting 3 twice, along with the gift of that safety, would have put them in position to win with one more score. Don't test our DEFENSE, suckas!1 point

Rules: 1) No football, no entry. Period. Looking at you, Denver. 2) No more FCS transitional/complete startups. There's a Karl Benson conference for that. 3) Preferably no more Sunbelt teams. This pretty much leaves the MAC, and I don't know why any of those schools would move. 4) If schools like Tulane, Central Florida, East Carolina, et al ever want to come back, make 'em pay for it.1 point
