Yeah, i am bringing over 100 people to this football game, and this is going to be their first UNT game experience. I am hoping this game is one they will never forget for all the good reasons.12 points

I am glad i have the opportunity! I work for the TAMS program on campus and i have been a huge mean green football fan for years. The student led TAMS clubs are giving out free pizza and ice cream to students who go , free tickets to certain paid TAMS events. We are meeting up together at 5:30pm and walking to Apogee Stadium. I am the Sports Club Advisor for TAMS, our club has definitely been making a big push for the game. We have about 360 students in our building, if these 100 students go.. have a good time... You will see most of them and more for the UTEP game. That is my hope. Yeah i am having trouble sleeping.. i have been trying to get TAMS students to show up for years.. this is the most excited i've seen the student body in the four years i've worked for the program. Frankly, i want the win.. a win for the team and for the Mean Green to win the hearts of this program. #GMG8 points

Here it is: The Break Down I'm tired, beat up, but I got it done after a couple of late nights. Not my best work, but to make up for that I will be answering any of your Rice questions. If you got questions about their tendencies or formations or anything related to their gameplay just post a question in this topic and I will answer it. I look forward to seeing y'all at the game. Now lets go kick some butt! Go Mean Green! This post has been promoted to an article5 points

Time to pull together people, Remember the last two times we played Rice.? 1. We went to Houston only to have Rice hang 77 points on us. 2. Rice came to Fouts, sacked Nathan Tune, dislocated his hip, ending his senior year WAY too early.. Hey Rice, welcome to Denton, Texas. Payback's a bitch...It's gonna a long day for you and bad ride home! Give em hell Mean Green!!!!!!!!5 points

If you have the whole day off, the ladies are hosting the Miners at 1. It's the last home game & a win or tie would secure a 1st round bye in the CUSA tournament next week. You can catch the game & still have plenty of time to tailgate. Here's to a 2-0 day !4 points

Thanks, I've been around here for a bit but finally felt like it was time to post something. I started going to UNT in 2004, and like a fool, assumed the New Orleans Bowl trips would continue. Freshman year my girlfriend and I skipped out on that chance and we have forever regretted it. As we all know, that next trip to New Orleans never came, and many frustrating years followed. Despite this, we were at every home game as undergrads, and I've always been very proud of my university, so it was painfull to get kicked around for so long. I believe that our university is on the precipice of taking great strides toward becoming a top tier institution, and I am very happy with the progress our football team is making in concert with this rise. This is why I feel like the stars are aligned, right now, for us to pounce on this chance and finally earn the respect UNT nation deserves, both academically and on the field. The great ones always make the most of the shots they are given and tonite's game will be telling of our character.4 points

Correct. Or if you were a better MAN. Also would have accepted better husband or father.4 points

Those excuses are called life, once you live some, you'll have them too. But I agree with you, if it's 22k it will be because the students turned out en masse.4 points

I could be wrong but at least 15 guys make the NBA's opening day rosters; with about 12-13 active. When the D-League starts up, as many as 2-3 will be sent down (and called up) throughout the season. I've been a Mitchell fan since I first saw him as a 9th grader but he could still spend more time in the D-League than with the Pistons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Development_League http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Collective_Bargaining_Agreement4 points

I just love how we have old coaches who are complete and total bad asses in Mac and Skladany. I would like to see a sign with Mac and Skladany wearing their shades with the title of this thread. Students?3 points

...like Mizzou did against South Carolina. This is an opportunity. There have enough veteran players on this squad that should be able to provide the leadership needed, and step up to make plays when needed. Although, I gotta tell you...I won't freak out if we lose. The sixth win, and likely the seventh and eighth are still available if we don't get this one. It would just be nice to go ahead and nail it down tonight, on national TV, against an opponent with a winning record. Getting the sixth against UTEP wouldn't be as sexy, I suppose, is what the real gist is. Still satisfying, but not as sexy. Like a quickie.3 points

That is the most f'ing awesome thing we've ever done! THANK YOU, RICK VILLAREAL. Please, please, please go with something like this for good. And, work in the the Original Worm helmet/uni for at least one game a year as well. This is a great day!3 points

Kinda hard to tell from the pic what the actual jersey and pants look like in action, but so far so good. With the helmet, replace the black SOW with all white SOW after tonight and toss the "North Texas" stickers in the trash. I do like the black SOW for Halloween.3 points

Just had a new project dropped in my lap before lunch today. May or May not be able to make the game tonight. If I'd attended TCU I guess this wouldn't be a problem.3 points

I'm really excited to see these blackout jerseys. From what I've heard, no press has seen them. There are no sneak peeks. The players see them for the first time when they step off the bus from coming from the hotel and go into their locker room. I would love to see their reactions. Also heard a rumor that the jerseys will start becoming part of the jersey rotation.3 points

I REALLY want Dallas...Big X...New Years Day Bowl...home field advantage New Orleans second, but I'd hate to have to play a Belt school. Not because of the conference, I just want to play someone new...I've seen 32 college teams, and would like to add someone new...great destination though for a Bowl I fear the Military Bowl in DC...many predictions have us going there. That is by far the bowl I see most people sending us to. Will be hard to get to DC...3 points

Can anyone confirm the rumor that Mac will be wearing a Michael Myers mask under his sunglasses? Walking slowly but deliberately up and down the sidelines??? Epic.3 points

Anyone know if Benford tokes it up? It would explain a lot...and provide an excuse to get rid of him without a buyout...3 points

I have a hard time believing that our defense will give up 30 points. Our D might be the toughest unit they will have faced thus far in the season.2 points

Most likely there are pictures or word was leaked that it happened. Once the players find out there is no way that the coaches can enforce any semblance of a drug policy with the team. Pellini has NO leg to stand on when drug testing his players. They simply would not have taken him seriously. Parents aren't gonna let their kids go play for a coach that tokes. AD had to do it. If the AD had an axe to grind with Carl then it's just a bonus and he gets to bring in his own staff now. If this happened here at UNT then I would venture to guess we would want the same action to be taken regardless of how any of us feel about weed.2 points

Excellent work. Keep the drive alive, meangreener. You really are making an impact. Suggestions: Consider working in "Mean Green Football" and "Conference USA" to make an even a greater impression.2 points

And for those who said he wouldn't make the roster, and that he was NBDL or Euro-bound... Eat Up!2 points

Right, because violating drug laws is super cool and we should just overlook grown ass men who are supposed to set an example for players smoking a little weed, right? Good for FAU. Glad they didn't hesitate one bit. I also think there is more to the story.2 points
