FYI - East Side Social Club will be featuring this game on their TV's both inside and out. Weather calls for 76 degrees in Denton Texas USA. It will be like being there but with delicious craft beer available for purchase and as a bonus without the smell of Ruston.7 points

I thought I'd posted a reply to this thread earlier this morning, but then all hell broke loose, I closed my browser, and apparently never hit the post button. I really, really don't like the inflatable tunnels. Didn't the team come out of an inflatable Southlake Helmet at Fouts? You notice how all the sample pictures are of teams you've never heard of? I like the eagle statue in the south entrance. I like the team coming in behind Mac. I looks more "big time" to me.5 points

Kids really need to do a better job of understanding the consequences of social media. Once it's out there, there are no take backs, and not everyone will get exactly what you are saying. All of our college age folk need to understand that one of the first things future employers do is look at your social media use. The wrong thing, the wrong pictures, and you are magically out of the running. Keep on giving the finger to the man, but don't be surprised when he gives it back when you finally decide to grow up.5 points

He didn't say "I can't wait to leave Dan McCarney". He said "Can't wait to leave UNT". I think you have to suffer an aneurysm to want to leave North Texas5 points

It is black, white and green. Green background, black letters with a white outline and a silver star. You do realize the field is green, right?4 points

ZOMBIE Apocalypse at Apogee Advertise it in the campus rag newspaper. It cost zero, nothing, nada. It takes no planning. It's too simple. Never mind. Look, I know there are some students who read this forum. Make this happen on your own. Pass the word. Get a bunch of your friends, dress up like Zombies, and act nuts everytime we score. Get on TV, DVR it, show mom and dad their money is well spent. Greeks do your part. The local media would have fun showing a bunch of crazy Zombies on the 10 pm sports.4 points

If they are going to sell beer it is going to be an all or nothing deal and the pre-game drinking will continue either way. The reason they are going to beer sales is increased ticket sales and increased revenue. Limiting the sales defeats the ultimate goal. For detractors of alcohol sales, half the stadium is already legally drunk when they walk in the door. I don't remember someone drinking beer next to me ruining my game day experience at a college game, bowl game, or NFL game. The world is full of drunk and sober morons no matter where you go. Might as well make some money.3 points

Trice's shoving the MTSU receiver out of the back of the end zone has to be top 3.3 points

So nobody is going to mention the awesome hospitality that is East Side Social Club? Now that I know he shows every game he can, I can't imagine going to Hooters. No food service? P'Shaw. They bring around local menus like Rusty Taco that'll deliver to you in the bar.3 points

C'mon guys. I'm sure he's talking about leaving UNT and heading to Ruston for the game this weekend.3 points

I believe this two game stretch on the road may be among the most important we've see in a long time. We have the opportunity to set up our Halloween night game as potential win #6. We will have a captive TV audience on Halloween and a 5-3 record would be amazing. And, let's face it, winning back o back on the road would go a LOOOONNG way toward energizing anyone who follows this team. So, here's my suggestion. We've asked Mac to do HIS part (rightfully so). If he delivers, and I believe he will, then let's throw out all of our excuses and do OUR part. Let's commit to a +1 operation. Every one of us makes sure that every ticket we have is spoken for...plus one more person. So, for instance, I have three season tickets...I'll make sure there are 4 in my party on Halloween night.2 points

Noticed in Vito's blog that Peterson received a verbal commit from a post player out of Stroud, OK. Megan Womack, 6'4" post, also played AAU ball for the Oklahoma Lady Trotters.2 points

Once again East Side Social Club will be showing this weeks game against Louisiana Tech on CBS sports at 2:30 pm on Saturday. We do have menus for Mellow Mushroom, Rusty Taco and Weinbergers and they will all deliver over their food. Or you can bring food in from anywhere else to watch the game. Ans yes we do have Saint Arnolds Root Beer on tap and a few other non alcoholic options if you dont feel like partaking on one of our 89 beers on tap. Games that will be showed for sure the rest of season 10/26 - unt @southern miss @ 6pm on Fox College Sports 10/31- unt vs. rice @ 6pm on Fox Sports 1 11/30- unt vs tulsa @ TBA on Fox sports Still working on UTEP and UTSA game. They seem to be on Time Warner Cable sports channel. If anyone has any idea on how to get this channel let me know. Thanks, John Williams UNT '042 points

The MUTS game will be the last game all year where the team we play says "beat us with your running game, we dare you." It has been the other way around for almost every game since Mac has been here, and it will be back to that way for the rest of the year. Teams will see the MUTS film and continue to stack 8 in the box and make DT beat us.2 points

A lot of those big plays being limited have been due to the change in starting corners, and the quality of the qb we have been facing.2 points

Good. Completely agree with his statement: "I made it personal with them because it was inexcusable. If we didn’t have good system, a good offensive line, Division I backs or guys who know how to execute, maybe we try to cover it up and sweep it under the carpet and make an excuse. We do have those things in place." Do what you're coached to do. UNT has one of the best OL's in CUSA, and a three-headed monster at RB. Absolutely no reason not to rush for 150 every game, no matter what front they face. Go make plays.2 points

Why do you knock it so much? Some sort of PC thing for you? I support it because they support the Mean Green, and I find most folks who knock the place do so out of pure ignorance along with a toss in of PC crap-loa. The local store has a mean green manager who has never turned me down when I asked for support for antof the GMG.com scholarship games I manage, and that is something Icannot say for several other places I have gone asking support . In addition, the local store contributes to the Mean Green and hires UNT students. Simple reasons. You do not have to go there if you choose not to do so. But. I see zero positive to be gained from knocking them or saying ugly things about the folks who are employed there.2 points

Tulane is 45 ? Damn. What an opportunity we had there. I am convinced this team would beat Tulane on most days.2 points

Okay, further reading: only a couple dismissive posts. Most seem on edge about this game. "As Dixon goes, so do we..." seems to be a common theme between both boards. Someone also corrects the "no athletics link" poster.2 points

That's funny. The reason it's more difficult is because you're not trying to get a fan base back, you are trying to build one.2 points

You make it sound like you were forced to get a degree in music comp. Which we all know isn't true. Degree =/= entitlement to work2 points

If we're gonna do it, let's do it right. The obvious answer is the inflatable giant constipated linebacker that poops out the team...2 points

Even when we win people feel the need to complain about the littlest things. If the freaking C-USA logs is the biggest problem we have the rest of the year things are looking good.2 points

I give up...by the last home game this year the logo will be gone anyway. Why? Because it is painted. A touchup is all I am asking.2 points

I agree with Drex. The CUSA logo looks like crap. Why not paint it in CUSA colors- red, white, and blue?2 points

Being the private school baby he is, I'm sure he will transfer to SMU and suddenly find a passion for the game. Sound familiar?2 points

Watched highlights of the MUTS game and was amazed how pitiful the C-USA logo looks. I understand that we got special dispensation from the conference to use it in black and white (since, apparently, those are our new school colors). It would be good to have the logo at least be as distinctive as the end zone art. I have a can of spray paint and could correct the problem in about 30 minutes.1 point

Anyone know when this promotion started? Just noticed it this week on the jumbo-tron and used it yesterday to get my 33 percent off! The promotion is MeanGreen33 for future reference. Hoping to use it more in the future!1 point
