I don't think I'd ever ask someone to leave my class, but I definitely reward my students for wearing green since my class is on Fridays. I also call out those who don't. I also award bonus points on the final if the students can sing the fight song and school song.7 points

Girl came into class wearing an A&M shirt. Teacher made her leave to take it off. #HonorarySuitCrew #ItsUNTNotA&M #GMG — UNT Suit Crew (@UNTSuitCrew) October 1, 20134 points

Remember that "Fiscal Cliff" we never hear about any more? This probably originated about that time, but it still applies today. Fiscal Cliff put in a much better perspective Lesson #1 *U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000 *Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000 *New debt: $1,650,000,000,000 *National debt; $$14,271,000,000,000 *Recent budget cuts: $38,500,000,000 Let's now remove 8 zeros and pretend it's a household budget: *Annual family income: $21,700 *Money the family spent: $38,000 *New debt on the credit card: $16,000 *Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710 *Total budget cuts so far: $38.50 Got it??....Ok now, Lesson #2 Here's another way to look at the Debt Ceiling: Let's say, you come home from work and find there has been a sewer backup in your neighborhood....and your home has sewage all the way up to your ceilings. What do you think you should do..... Raise the ceilings or remove the shit? Rick3 points

It is a kind of euphoria. However, being the modest person that I am, I don’t see it in the egotistical vein of me be right all the time. I prefer to show my compassionate side in really feeling bad about the other guy’s opinion being wrong so often.2 points

I have been checking Tulane's performance. I know UNT well enough and I see this as a real toss up. Ball security and moving the chains wins it for the MeanGreen. You guys will be in a bowl. UNT 21 Tulane 172 points

As I mentioned earlier, has slot receiver written all over him but I'm sure he's being recruited as an ATH. I'm glad to see a kid who produced at the highest level of high school being rewarded. Tightening the DeSoto pipeline doesn't hurt. Desmon, welcome to the family!2 points

The one your wife made is nice. A friend gave me a Texas one similar to the one your wife made. Since it was a gift and I couldn't return it, I put it in my dog's kennel. So now I can't get mad when my dog has an accident in her kennel.2 points

Rutherford isn't the type to bulk up into a TE. He's 6-5 or 6-6, but his frame is too slight for the type of weight he would need to add, which would be about 70 pounds. He's much better suited to be a 205-pound mismatch on the outside. He's already a red-zone nightmare for DBs even at 180. I'll try to share what I know in regards to ETx.2 points

Several objections to the professor's action and also references to A$M. Take a gander at the cult like traditions at A$M and obsession with all things A$M. This was tame. And warranted. Well done professor2 points

After First quarter: Tulane 10...North Texas 3 Lots of emotion and adrenaline from Tulane's players and crowd. A lot of yelling and screaming but not much noise considering the cavernous Super Dome. The weekly "deep ball for six" will be given up. After Second Quarter: Tulane 13...North Texas 13 I fully expect Byrd or Pegram to break one and knot this one up at half. Mac gives a rousing halftime speech and the team is amped for the third quarter. After Third Quarter: Tulane 16...North Texas 23 We will force a fumble with a big lick on a ball carrier. Then we'll punch it in when Jimmy Jam finds a crease. And tack on another field goal. The defense will continue to settle in and the mental toughness of Tulane will begin to wilt. After Fourth Quarter and Final: Tulane 23...North Texas 37 Tulane will knot it up on a busted coverage. Then DT hits Brelan for a big one deep. And, because of back and forth punts giving us good field position, we'll see another grind them down touchdown from Pegram or Byrd. After watching them play La Tech and reading about their ULM win I think these guys will have a solid front four. They just won't be facing the swiss cheese that is Tech or getting the FIVE turnovers that Monroe gave them. And I think Mac and Chico will use their expectation of slants and short routes to draw the corners up so that Brelan can go up top. And I think we will run on them pretty effectively. If we have cleaned up the secondary miscues then I see this game as being a wider margin.2 points

Certainly worth the positive PR in my neck of the woods. This will pay dividends. Joey McGuire (Cedar Hill HC) tweeted "they are smart. Kid is amazing". Wish I had 1 more course in posting tweets!1 point

I don't know who Adman is, but if he is related to the operations of the two very, extraordinarily fine operations now running on Oak Street, I'd like to buy him a pint of his own beer. During happy hour, of course. Or perhaps on beard day with the $1 PBRs. Or maybe a $2 all day every day Lone Star. And maybe a $2.50 pair of OSDH&CP sunglasses (of which my child now owns four colors).1 point

Oh, I know we have done better through the air, but the last thing Coach Mac wants this team to be is "pass heavy." He wants to run the ball effectively and wear down the opponent (which is always a good football plan). I think our passing stats have more to do with the defense that has been played against us than our team philosophy.1 point

I am really getting tired of what college football has become and its obvious crappy future. They are making it easier for me to watch the NFL only. If we go back to something like the D1AA days then our football program is done. The whole thing is pathetic.1 point

We're the #35 passing offense in the nation, at 277.8 YPG. We're the #94 rushing offfense in the nation, at 132.3 YPG. We throw almost exactly 50% of the time. While that is nowhere near a teams like tulsa/utsa who throw about 56% of the time, it is way ahead of teams like Rice/UTEP who throw about 41% of the time.1 point

if adman is telling you the game will be at East Side, the game will be at East Side.1 point

Original tweet says prof made the student leave to take the shirt off. That's what I based my post on. I apologize for nothing. This reminds me of the slut shaming pic somebody posted on here a few years ago of a guy bringing his young son to a game at Fouts, but wearing a USC shirt. We bitched and bitched and bitched about chitty attendance, but then totally shamed some random guy on a public forum for having the gall to show up in the wrong clothing. Shit like this reduces my school spirit. Nobody should be forced to have school spirit based on what one is wearing -- especially not in the classroom.1 point

Good for the Prof. I am a die hard Maroon Blooded Aggie Class of '86 and have only worn GREEN for the past four years. It gauls me to see other schools' colors, specially orange, at Apogee. GMG!1 point

The grad level accounting classes were mostly Tech score watching parties. Half the faculty hailed from Lubbock. That and, oddly, Kentucky. So, anywho, I do think it's cool and all, but since when was there a dress code for tuition paying students? I was known to wear the occasional undergrad logoed article of clothing at UNT, and I would've raised bloody hell if anyone had tried to throw me out for it. It would have ended very, very badly for all parties involved. I reiterate, I think it's kinda funny, but I wouldn't blame the student at all for retaliating.1 point
-
Professor, I applaud your school spirit. However, I suspect a low-life lawyer is salivating at the thought of bringing a first admendment suit against the instructor, her/hisdepartment chair, and our beloved university. What the student was expressing was unfortunatte, but still they had a constitutional right to express themselves. I'll save you all the trouble and award myself a -1 for this post.1 point

So the message is: A ) We're gonna throw CUSA 2.0 a little bone for being reactionary little pricks and sucking our balls so hard. B ) We're gonna let the MAC/CUSA/MWC/SBC scrounge for table scraps at our feet to avoid any bothersome anti-trust litigation. C ) But we're still gonna rule the college world with an iron fisted dictatorship like we have been for three decades, and nobody, not SMU, not BYU, and most certainly not some podunk shithole from Monroe, Louisiana, are ever going to have any real say in the matter. Now where's Chris Berman? We're bored and he needs to bend over and pay us so we can hire the best high school players money can buy. And while we're at it, could somebody from the Nevada Wolfpack see to it that our shrimp tray gets refilled? We're gonna be hungry soon.1 point

Finally. And it's not just school spirit, it's a matter of respect. aTm isn't giving you an education or degree. A girl in my public speaking class gave a speech about how she'd always be an Aggie, because her family was comprised of Aggies and she was just using UNT to get her GPA up so she could transfer. It's so classless, it just says to me, "Getting accepted and educated here, and possibly even getting financial aid, that means nothing because my loyalty is to a school that did none of that for me." Of course, if your idea of loyalty is sticking with those who didn't want you, we do have a very nice Health Services Center as well as a sizeable staff of counselors and psychologists to help you work through those issues...1 point
