The fact that it took Thompson, a 2 year starter, Senior, Team Caprain, to the 2nd scrimmage of fall practice to emerge as the starter says enough.6 points

You can tell these are all done in Apogee and various other places. I think these are area kids....and some are kids of some of our fans. And the narrator's voice sure sounds familiar....Nancy Lieberman or Mary Carillo? Not sure....but the voice is someone I've heard before.4 points

So, if he was named starter, it must have been for a reason. He earned it, and that means it is time to get behind our qb. Way to earn the job Derek! Now, lets do something we haven't seen for 8 years.... Finish bowl eligible.... I am dieing for a trip to a bowl game in December or January! Go mean green!3 points

Ugh...I'm sorry but hearing this news is a total buzzkill for the upcoming year. The fact that it took him, 2 year starter, Senior, Team Caprain, to the 2nd scrimmage of fall practice to emerge as the starter says enough.3 points

Chancellor is the best kick returner North Texas has seen since Brock McGrew . . . maybe better. He holds the all-time North Texas records for K.O. return yards in a game, season, and career. Do you remember his 2 90+ yard returns for TDs against K-State the last game in 2010? Or his 285 return yards against Houston in 2011? He's turned out to be a pretty good receiver, too. He was our leading receiver in 2011, and certainly would have been in 2012 had it not been for his injury. He had 2 TD catches against LSU. Everybody remembers Jimmerson's run against LaLa last year, but we don't win that game without Brelan's 34-yard TD run. Did you know that Brelan was our all-purpose yards leader in 2011, on a team that had Lance Dunbar cranking out yards? 1628 yards that season, a mark that stands as the #6 North Texas all-time best. So I really don't know what you mean when you say "Potential is all Chancellor has shown." Do you mean he hasn't received the big postseason awards? Do you mean he hasn't carried us to a bowl win? Well, okay, if that's what you mean. But you'd have a hard time naming players on this team who have already shown more than Brelan has shown.3 points

good god everyone is whining on here... from what it sounds like, everyone who has been watching these guys has Thompson begged as the better player at the position right now... you guys sound as if youd rather have a different qb in there just because his name isn't thompson DT has had flashes of brilliance, and hopefully this year, he can get into more of a rhythm early in games, have receivers he can trust throwing the ball too and also not only be allowed to pass when it's 3rd and 8-10 you got this DT, set some records and get us to a bowl game this year2 points

Awesome work! Two trips to Denton in one day was just going to be too much for me. I plan on snagging my share of posters at the Kickoff celebration in a bit and doing my part to make pockets of Collin County green! Again, thanks to all that worked on this today. I have a lot of respect for folks that support the university by donating your time.2 points

Could not of said it better myself... Is it not strange that UNT was to good to offer Scotty a scholarship, while he's the starter at LA Tech, our #13 rated QB is on the bench... I thought recruiting wasn't going to be an issue??2 points

Just heard back from URCM. There will be a Flyin Worm T available. It's in the process of getting done right now. I suggest if you want one you better get one because it will be the last time they get produced....until the next time. Stay tuned. Rick2 points

Here's a recap from my visit: Ton of brand new UNT Nike apparel. A TON of different designs and varieties. Way better hat selection too. It's really excellent. They have so much new apparel that's really cool and, like I said, all NT. Not generic or that ugly off brand cheap stuff the old store used to sell. I think our apparel has finally turned the corner. Told everyone that B&N would be huge but everyone blew me off. Furthermore, I CANNOT BELIEVE WE ARE COMPLAINING OVER THE NIKE REPLICAS. I mean...holy shit. We finally have real deal replica jerseys for an incredibly explosive player who did great last year but fell victim to injury...and you're complaining? Who'd you want? Derek? Orr, maybe, but unless you're JJ Watt, defense doesn't sell massive amounts of jerseys. When people see Chancellor streaking down the field, that's who they want. But, for real, it's a bigger deal that y'all think...it's replica Nike jerseys. Not the cheap crummy ones...Nike ones that mirror our real jerseys. Personally, I think that's huge because they look so high quality, make us look big time and were probably expensive to manufacture. They look better than the ones the players wear. It's huge...most schools at our level just have the OT style ones...not the real deal Nike replicas. Stop complaining...this is huge and I bet they'll sell a lot. Got a lot of responses to my tweet about them. I'm going to buy one sometime next week. Yes, #3 is all that's there because 3 and 35 are the only big name stars we have. Chancellor is a badass. I was surprised no DT, but I take that as a good sign the AD probably told them not to mass product a backup QB's jersey.2 points

Thanks to greenjoe for setting this up for us...had a great time chatting before heading out on my "appointed rounds", but also had great reception everywhere I went to deliver a poster or two or three! This is the first time that I can say that EVERYONE was receptive! Unfortunately only a few brave souls ventured out to help this morning...a big thank you those who did...you are making a positive difference. Thanks to: Our fearless leader greenjoe for setting this all up; Christopher Walker - who had the Alumni pavilion opened for us this morning with the big fans going and even some "beverages"; rsw69 who volunteered to work the Flower Mound area and who has really started volunteering for so many of these activities; oldguystudent - who volunteered to work the Lewisville area (my guess is that will will now see UNT Football posters at Hooter's, Red Neck Heaven, Twin Peaks; and NMGreen who worked the event last year as well while home on vacation from out of state...which I think happened again this year as well. So, to the few who ventured out on a Saturday morning to help, you definitely embody the ACTA NON VERBA "can do" spirit. Folks, it really is a fun activity and you get to talk to a lot of folks about UNT football. Heck, greenjoe also brought UNT plastic glasses for us to hand out. At one place (mellow Mushroom) where I delivered a poster, I had employees coming up to me while I was taping the poster to the window and ask if they could have a glass! One said, "always love to support my school"! At another establishment (Weinberger's Deli, I was greeted with "put as many up as you would like and thank you!". they were thanking me? Wow! And at Oak Street Draft House and Social Club (did I get that all correct?) they asked for a second poster so they could get it laminated to display outside in the beer garden as well as the one I put up inside! The above are not the only places agreeing to a poster, just some of the more enthusiastic responses I received. Also put posters up at Fuzzy's Taco, Burgessa Burger and Unique Barbers. Found posters already up at many other places such as Barefoot, Rooster's, Sweetwater, Rusty Taco and several others. Seems the athletic department folks had done an earlier job in getting these up...at least in the area I was working this morning! If you think the attitude of merchants around town is not changing for the better in terms of UNT and UNT athletics then you need to volunteer to help with this project next year and see for yourself. This is proof positive that things are moving in a positive direction and that UNT is, in fact, engaging the local merchants and more and more merchants see the benefit in supporting UNT. Night and day difference this year in my reception at the Mellow Mushroom than I got last year for the same project! Just one example. And, some folks wonder why i stay so positive about UNT. Get out and go around with me sometime and I'll show you why! ACTA NON VERBA folks...Acta Non VERBA! Thanks greenjoe...well worth the time and effort made by this member of the Mean Green Nation this morning!1 point

That's what I'm thinking. If Mcnulty is number 2 then I doubt anyone else sees snaps against Idaho.1 point

Look at the facts, how does DT compare to other programs top 5 QBs. I guarantee you his stats aren't even close.1 point

Great news to see the QB situation starting to settle down a bit leading into the Idaho game. I fully expected this outcome and am, for one, happy to see it take place. I think DT's senior leadership will emerge and we'll all see some more W's this season. I would, however, not be surprised to see the other QB's get some playing time as well throughout the season. WAY to go Derek! Edit: Thanks Dr. Seuss...you caught my big time good on Derek's name spelling...I guess I know to many Derricks! Ha! Anyway...my bad...thanks!1 point

If DT can figure out how to get in the endzone...get it done. He's okay until we get inside the 20.1 point

Hmm not sure. should I feel stupid now for having considered that there may have been something to the coach speak, when probably it was clear all along that DT would be the starter?1 point

Maybe so, but the board also has new members and by looking at the changes in facilities the past few years, I wouldn't call them anti-athletics.1 point
