No, I don't. Innocent until proven guilty. You have very little in the way of facts at this point. Just because the process of appointing a prosecutor is different does not change the fact that, until proven otherwise and convicted by a jury of his peers, this young man is innocent. You spent a lot of time lecturing everyone about this point, and it is the same. Just because you have a different opinion of the crime doesn't change the nature of the laws in this country.5 points

Young Means has already had a full Welcome To UNT thread in the Recruiting Section but you can't welcome this kind of talent enough IMO. Welcome QB Means to Mean Green Country! GMG!4 points

Yes. It means that Means will RS next year, creating two years of separation between him and the youngest scholarship QB on the roster.3 points

Playing one of the worst rated teams in the nation at home, if heat has to win it for NT; this is going to be another long season.2 points

4 year olds will say th e darndestst things. Mine told someone that I punched him in the face. I was horrified, Of course I didn't I hope this incident didn't take place. No matter what this Kelley kid will have to live with it the rest of his life. I hope there is more proof than just what the 4yr old said. I would think so if it led to an arrest If false , it's a sad situation If it's true , BIH2 points

I was hoping to hear something about Roderick Lancaster or Nick Schrapps. Walk ons are great but going in to Chico's 4th year you would think we would have some players he recruited (excluding Harris) coming in to the fold at wide reciever.2 points

We are at the point in our program that winning now is more important that perceived future victories. This team can be either 7&5 with a few breaks on the road,or 5&7 without them. Just an old man's opinion.2 points

How about Kane Sweet, Cougar McBride, and Mack Faggett?2 points

In the mid-80's we had a player who started at QB, but was then moved to DB. His name was Gene Pool.2 points

Kick it really old school and sport a leather helmet. (Is leather fire retardant? I've never seen a burning cow...well...except on my tailgating grill.)2 points

Isn't that the same group that picked ULaLa to finish last (or close to it) in the Sun Belt the year they won it and then beat San Diego State in a pretty darn good New Orleans Bowl game? North Texas will be the surprise team in Conference-USA and we have a whole bunch of Texas HS football products who will play a huge part in that happening. (And along with all you non-Texan players, too, of course)! We are mostly all positive this time every Summer but this time is different. Just check out our team roster and many of our transfers, RS frosh and true frosh YouTube videos for proof. GMG!2 points

There are too many on this team who have put in a TON of work on and off the field not to put the absolute best guy on the field. The QB who proves the greatest ability to put this team in position to win needs to be under center. These guys deserve that much. The future will work itself out...time for winning!2 points

Whether it turns out that an "awesome guy" really isn't, or a 4-year-old made it up (or was told to), neither would really surprise me. So much craziness...sad, isn't it, that practically nothing is shocking anymore?1 point

Yes, Montgomery to Epps. And he changed his name to some Muslim name after he graduated and played arena football.1 point

IMO nothing beats Hunter Hunter. Laughed my ass off once when the stadium announcer called his name!1 point

The Bad fan that I am. I really like the grunge dirty green on the jerseys (it feels mean to me) but I think the helmets are a big mistake. I would have been happy if the helmet was reversed in the same flat green as the jersey with the worm in white. They could put whatever they like on the helmet as long as the helmet stayed that green and the eagle, text, worm, interlocking NT whatever was white. At that point I would love to keep it.1 point

Not exactly an interesting player name, but I think it was Corbin Montgomery that Matt Simon, in describing Montgomery's muscular strength, as having "muscles in his earlobes". Corbin changed his name. Epps???1 point

The team loves them and are proud for the chance to wear them. I'm debating on whether I am going to participate with a throwback helmet for myself or not? Hmmmm Rick1 point

I do like what DW or BB can bring to this offense with their feet. Having that Zone Read option will help in opening up running lanes for the RB and also of course help in the passing game.1 point

I don't see how Thompson would lead us to victories in any games that Williams, or Berglund really, wouldn't be able to. They bring more upside because they are more talented and can do things that DT cannot, with their arm and legs. We're going to rely heavily on the run, so that will help us break them in. Relieve the pressure on them so we can call plays to their strengths.1 point

I honestly wish these, the jerseys and pants, were our permanent uniforms. I love the logo, but would like to see this uniform with a green helmet and the current white logo.1 point

Yes, my dad was an Oiler with "Slim Jim" Norton and they remained friends after dad's playing days were over (dad remained friends with Bob Talamini and "Dirty Al" Jamison, names you also might remember from the old Jeppesen stadium days). Jim was a terrific guy and I enjoyed going on fishing trips with he and dad. He spoke beautifully at dad's funeral and it pains me to think of those guys dying away (Norton died in 2007). I can't work up much of a froth against the Idaho Vandals because it was the alma mater of a great guy named Jim Norton. Plumm, I'm happy to know there are still some codgers around like me that can remember guys like Norton and actually saw games at the The Jep. As long as we live, those dear dead days are not completely gone. Danbury High School! I actually drove down to Danbury 10-years ago to watch a HS game because they were running the Double Wing formation and I wanted to see how they executed it.1 point

My honest assessment of Shiner is that it's good, but it's not exceptional. Jury's still out on how I feel about Rahr. Deep Ellum just hired away a master brewer from dogfish head, so I have great expectations for them.1 point

Interesting beer names and visiting some breweries sounds fun. I am boring to most on here about beer, I usually stay with Coors Light or Bud Light. Since you open with the Vandals from way up north in Idaho, a little history of our reputation for the party. BSU (we Vandals refer to them as the jc) President called us the "nasty and inebriated culture". He went on about the perils and safety of his fans and team venturing into the Palouse, to Moscow. Well, the two schools no longer play each other. Hard feelings have developed of course. We had the early half of the rivalry in our hands and ran off 12 straight, but of course, as you know, they have a great program and have won 14 straight. But the banter is still loud and "nasty". You will see all Vandals who make it to Denton as great people who are proud of their institution. We do wear our colors well and we are unconditionally loyal to the school and the team. As we are playing Sat night, most of us will be anxious to hear how the jc is fairing in Seattle, against UW, an evening game. So, if you hear a little bark of approval from us, you know the Huskies are humbling the Donks. I live in Boise, as do many alum. It is hard, but we hold our own in the land of blorange. Loved the beer talk. And thanks for making me feel at home. Looking forward to Denton.1 point
