  2. The real outrage should be that political organizations, both Republican and Democrat, are able to gain tax-exempt status. To be tax-exempt an organization should be a church, a school, or a government. Increasing complexity in tax law is part of the problem.

  3. Good to see that Andrew Power is at the San Francisco 49er rookie camp. I really hope he can make the final roster! Saturday Practice Notes Catch of the day honors went to North Texas tight end Andrew Power who made a diving catch on a ball thrown to the left side of the field by B.J. Daniels. http://www.49ers.com/news/article-2/Reid-McDonald-Compete-on-Day-2/a4724a7c-3c53-4eb2-b26d-41cc208ab7db

  4. Sorry guys. Busy and just saw this. Was at the girlfriends place in FTW when the storm cane through. The big one hit about 1/2 mile from the house, right off Davis drive in a neighborhood right by the American Legion (for those familiar with G-town). All I got at my house was some wind, golfball sized very intermittent hail, and rain. No damage. Pray for my neighbors, though, as I understand that area is like a war zone, with bodies found no where near the deceased resided. Thanks for the concern.

  5. I'd rather keep the eagles alive and make sure our energy use and carbon emissions low, but between the two, I'll focus more on the carbon emissions. I mean, the Earth is capable of repairing its own environment but like anything, it's got its limits. I don't want to see what they are. I think tech could solve the issue of keeping the eagles away from the turbines. Some sort of high-frequency sound or something that keeps them from the area would probably help, and it's pretty silly that no one in the system has proposed something that keeps them out of the area.

  6. Rules is rules. I get it. But perhaps the government's eye turns blind with regard to eagles and windmills when science takes a look at this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/31/climate-change-carbon-dioxide-troubling-milestone_n_1558561.html ...and when we take an eagle eye look at the physical impact our choices have made to the planet. http://world.time.com/timelapse/

  8. What color is the sky in your world? Only you and your extremely small but EXTREMELY vocal band of apologists seek to consistently crap on the rest of us who want basic things like accountabilty, on-field progress, and transparency. I get it. I really do. RV and company make you feel special and loved so you are forever loyal. When you stroke your pet enough he'll defend the house from all intruders. But, pretty please, don't pretend to speak for North Texas alumni at large or our too small fan base...one group can't be bothered to buy the product and the other (with the exception of your ilk) has had enough of being served bologna and being told if we can't recognize it as steak it's OUR taste buds that are off.

  10. " What ensued was an utter disappointment that word again with FIU winning only three games, losing nine, and dropping from successive bowl berths to the bottom third of the nation's weakest conference. The slide was inexplicable, and served in large part as the school's rationale for jettisoning Cristobal after his years of hard work building FIU into a program worthy of inclusion into Conference USA" 1) A team enters the season with the talent to win their league and with universally high expectations. 2) Said team falls on its face. 3) The coach is held responsible, and this guy HAS proven he can win as a head coach. They might be onto something out there in Miami.

  17. It seemed to work out OK for TCU though. I don't think there's any question that MWC is a step up from the new C-USA. Maybe not if we were to keep ECU/Tulsa/Tulane, but those schools are going to be gone. I think you're looking at it with green-tinted glasses Harry. The MWC tv deal is bigger right? The MWC is much more stable. The MWC has a higher respect level as seen by having the BCS buster school coming from the MWC every other year. C-USA hasn't had a BCS buster. They got close with Houston a few years ago, but that's it. Just win. **Edit: This was my 4000th post! Man, I love this place!

However, the 6-8 forward regressed in his sophomore season at North Texas, in large part because of the team's coaching change. His points, rebounds, assists and blocks dropped significantly in his second collegiate season, as did his field goal percentage, three-point percentage and free-throw percentage. NBA decision-makers wanted to see Mitchell take the next step in his development and solidify himself as a top pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, but that never happened. Now, Mitchell finds himself on the first-round bubble entering the combine. The 21-year-old will need to perform well in workouts and interviews to show teams that he's still the same player that seemed poised for success in the league just one year ago.

  21. Why would I ask Dodge anything? He disproves your feeble passive aggressive attempt at making a point. Yes, he had several years at the helm and proved that only here at North Texas can continued futility buy you another year. I appreciate that you so readily provide the ammo for my arguments on such a consistent basis.

  27. I don't call you a liberal as an insult, funny that liberals always take it that way, though. It's just what you are, like I am a conservative. And I don't think you called me that as an insult. It's just funny that you won't criticize Pres. Obama for knowingly using made up talking points to deny a terrorist attack in the final weeks of a presidential election, knowing that the talking points were not true.

  28. The fact that the president knew about it for a year, yet didn't comment on it until after a Treasury Dept. investigation was set to be released, and even then only when he was asked about it is just so indicative of an administration that is setting itself up to be remembered as one of the most corrupt in history. Libs like Greenbat never fail to entertain. If this was a Republican President and the organizations were NOW or Planned Parenthood, he would blow a gasket. But as long as its his team doing things to the opposition, it's just funny.

  40. To be a lie, they would have had to know the truth at the time they made they statement. What your liberal source shiws are statements made that were later, you know, after we invaded Iraq and actually search Ed for and found no WMDs, ended up to be false. Calling those lies is just intellectually dishonest. Was the intelligence bad? Yes. Did the president take a chance? Yes. I wonder if you would be calling Pres. Obama a liar of he had ordered the Bin Ladin raid, the copter crash had killed half the SEAL team, and the intelligence happened to be wrong. I doubt it. Pres. Obama, much like Pres. Bush, made the best decision possible with the information at hand. Actually, there was probably a better argument for invading Iraq than there was for Pres. Obama to invade Pakistan, a county that possesses nuclear weapons. But, luckily, no Americans were killed in the crash and Bin Laden was indeed inside the compound, good for Pres. Obama and good for America. Surely you would be calling Pres. Obama a liar if the intelligence had not panned out, right? Right? The "bush lied" crowd can never produce a very important thing, the motive for the big lie.

  42. So, you were all for the war, but then when you got the advantage of having hindsight, an advantage Bush didn't have, you changed your mind. And you believe Pres. Bush lied to go to war? Why? What was his motive? To advance his politocal career? Because wars always do that. To make his "oil buddies" rich? Please. So, you assume Bush lied with zero proof, and you know Obama's administration lied through testimony this week, but you use an assumption to justify a known lie? Interesting thought process. Could it be you are just cheering for your team?

  46. I did just fine until people like you come on.... I had plus 3 and now when I get home home negative 5. Go figure... At the same time there were only maybe 5 "no we will lose more games" votes... I think we can all tell who the negative people are just by their comments. Funny how some people can find it funny and plus one but then others with a miserable, negative, sarcastic attitude can come on and bring their misery into these boards.
