Terrell looked a little better Saturday than he did Wednesday. It's not that looked in any way bad Wednesday, he just didn't impress me all that much. Saturday he stepped it up and showed some moves and faked out some DB's on some of the short-mid-range throws. He's also changed his number from 15 to 11 (noticed it was changed on today's on-line roster). Brown (#19) also looked a little better.....although he didn't bring in one long ball throw to the end zone (it hit his outstretched hands). He needs to regularly make those catches. Just a guess, but that might be why they brought him in...... to win those miss-matches in the end zone. For those going to future practices, here are some other changes. #21 in green, Dimitri Wilhite (from #26) #25 green, Bryan Monroe (from #38) #66 (listed as #65 on todays on-line roster) Michael Banogu walk-on from Prosper HS. Rex Rollins (#20 from Chappell Hill HS) continues to look pretty good. He might be the #4 RB by the end of spring. Wallace (#70) is looking pretty quick out there (actually all of the d-linemen are....especially the DE's), and on one play he and an o-lineman got into a fight......I mean rolling around on the ground fight.5 points

Anybody that thinks that CUSA is not better for NT than the Belt is a fool Anybody that thinks that CUSA is the conference that NT thought they were getting into is also delusional Most of CUSA's luster for NT is gone with the departures and the additions of 3 or more Belt teams plus 3 start ups But being left in the Belt, would be a disaster5 points

Maybe becuase one of them averaged 4 points and 3 rebounds and didn't even start in high school? And another was a lowly ranked Brazilian who dropped out of JUCO? But I'm sure they are good fathers and husbands.3 points

Here is my take on all the whining about "Sunbelt 2.0" I don't care that FAU, FIU, MTSU, & WKU are coming because the teams in our division, even in losing Tulsa, are the teams that bring people to the games, and they are games I can go see on the road. I don't care that UTSA is a startup, they are better than playing Monroe, Ark St, Troy, the Cajuns, or any other Belt team to the avg Joe, home and definitely away. Me personally, I enjoyed playing some of those schools, but the most enjoyment I get is when we have 28K and more in the stands...our division, Rice, UTEP, UTSA, LaTech, and now probably SoMiss will bring those people the other teams never could...even in our good days. Stop the whining about the conference and star looking forward to the opportunities this conference, and our division, will provide2 points

From winning battles with Kansas St. to losing battles with Eastern Michigan. Yep, we are definitely on the right track2 points

And this is why I wish the CUSA would have shown a little more patience, especially before inviting ODU and NCC. Let the teams have a chance to come back. Dumbing down the conference doesn't make it an attractive return. Some would say UNT's inclusion dumbed down the conference, but I would argue that we were finalist when they added UTEP, made the necessary improvements to facilities, and were next up for inclusion. The desperation grab at teams just to re-stock and get to 12 or 14 or wherever they are now just made no sense (just as the inclusion of UTSA made no sense). Now teams like Houston, Smu, Tulane, and Tulsa want as far away from the stench of the Belt and the start ups as possible, even if it costs them a couple of bucks (I know, UNT just could never waste that kind of money). Can you blame them?2 points

If any one was watching the Marquette game they said Buzz Williams makes subs in droves and often. This might be why Benford does his subs the way he does. Marquette changes out the entire team and guys are coming and going in handout constantly. The announcers even noted this. It helps them stay fresh for defense and attack and score in transition. I believe that is Benfords philosophy. It just did not work here for us.2 points

I like the Dawgs words. So much - wish we were over there talk. Has been for over 10 years now! We have a conference name with some street cred We have multiple programs in driving distance We have sweet markets to visit There is definitely some upside to look toward and enjoy. Some choose to look at the dark side of everything. Ready to rumble in Ruston! GMG2 points

What kind of person shoots a baby?!? A crime as cold hearted as this calls for the death penalty. Liberals of course hate the death penalty so these kids will likely get life and hopefully without parole.2 points

And just a few hours after I post this , news comes out we have offered Forte Land Forte & I just might get my hopes up again for next year2 points

I have Indiana and duke... But the other two final four teams were k state and Michigan. Dang it k state! You should have won. You ruined me!!!!2 points

You people dance with glee on every corpse, don't you? No matter how small it may be. This crime didn't happen BECAUSE of a gun... it was likely the result of these two kids being raised without a father, discipline, or boundaries in a culture that glorifies violence and dismisses the value of human life. Let's focus on real solutions instead of hyperbolic grandstanding.2 points

Any tidbits on this morning's session ? Know it's only the 3rd day, but info so far has been very skimpy. Any observations anyone can offer for those of us who are far away is appreciated.1 point

Grrr Gonzaga is out. That's 2 of my Elite 8 gone already. Haha Wichita State's mascot is the shocker. That is funny in so many ways. Also makes me think of Jason Bateman in Dodgeball.1 point

Has Gonzaga ever advanced to an elite 8 under Mark Few? Seems like they choke every year1 point

They can laugh all they want. I would lobe for announcers to be laughing at UNT if we were a 3 seed in a tourney and could go deep year after year...1 point

Perhaps, but from what I read Boise was certain to join the Big East and the Big East was certain to have a $100 million tv deal. The America whatever conference must get to 12 to keep the TV deal they have now. And if the right two schools bail then they have to start over. Tulsa wants to be with SMU and Tulane but do they want it enough to risk the new conference? While some fans do, do they have enough pull to force the risk. I gather Tulsa thinks basketball first which mean the new conference is an even bigger risk.1 point

We could go with this... I was thinking 5 on 5 full court but 3 on 3 would work too! I just am able to score more in trasnition on the full court because I don't stop (much slower now). 3 on 3 slows me up because I am not a ball handler. Nut could this be done!?1 point
-
I'd be down for a 3 on 3 tournament Example - Let's just say 12 teams , $50 a piece that's $600 raised right there Maybe get players to ref ? Just an idea to throw out there1 point

Basically all we have done is get out (almost) of the lowest rated/least respected conference in college football to a conference that is soaking up just about every team from that lowest rated/least respected conference. CUSA will be 1A to the Belt's 1 when it comes to least respected conferences. What is kinda funny is that La. Tech turned their nose up at the Belt every chance they got, and now they are sitting right in the middle of it, minus ULM and LaLa, which I guess is what matters to La. Tech. We should be doing everything we can to get into the MWC. We won't, but we should be. You know, those travel expenses just cost too much for little ole UNT.1 point

KRAM does a great job on both this and the GMG football game. Lots of time and effort that is very much appreciated. I hurt.1 point

I want ,to say "thank you" to each and every player, referee, volunteer, guest helper and spectator who came out today to help raise a few dollars for our great Cheer Team students. And, to our sponsors (MB Designs, Kokjohn Long Snapping, Crosstimbers Equipment and Rudy's) a special thank you. You are all very much appreciated! And, what about Tracie O'Neal and our Cheer Squad and a great group of Cheer Team Parents? Greatness! And, to those who made and/or donated silent auction items....you made sure this was a successful event. It was the best Classic yet, and...the best game yet. May not be ready for the NCAA tourney yet, but close.... The preliminary numbers...preliminary...show we brought in just under $1800.00! That's really nice and we now have a min. $2000 goal for next year! Hope to see everyone back next year...bring your friends! Lastly...thanks to all the athletic Dept. personnel who helped to make this happen. Would not happen without your help and support. Great job players...this one was really fun....and, how about that coaching by Roger Franklin? Classic! Great fun today! Thanks to all...see you all next year!1 point

Besides team performance, that is the biggest disappointment with the club level. Was expecting the food to be better.1 point

WSJ said in football season the ut football team makes $72M+ VS Mississippi's $10M when they played early in the season. I wonder where our figures come from? I pay way too much for the club when you consider the food we get up there.1 point

Agree. I don't see Chancellor being as productive on the outside. I guess this means we'll see some 4-wide sets quite often? Unless they're just tinkering early on in the spring. I'll take the wait and see approach on this bit of news.1 point

Ya know.. If you drink beer during the game you don't feel the soreness... just saying! I'm all good and well!1 point

It was probably a close call between you and I, but gives me something to shoot for next year!1 point

Player most in need of practice huh? We'll see next year. Training starts whenever the soreness goes away. I'm guessing 4 days. Training starts in four days!1 point

I think the would have and beaten Gonzaga. But obviously we were both wrong haha. Now the Zags have an easy path to the elite 8. If kansas state had won yesterday I would have been very confident that I would have won. O well... Always next year...1 point
-
Well my bracket will fall apart because of Kansas State. They should have won! They would have beat Gonzaga though beating OSU was a toss up I still picked them. My bracket hinged on the success of Kansas state and michigan. I felt they were in the weakest brackets.1 point

Well, continuing to hit me over the head with it isn't going to change it either. It's like getting in your car every day and the radio plays the same song over and over again. Pretty soon you get tired of it. You are obviously a basketball savant and AD in waiting, so tell us who you would have hired? I am assuming you were able to view all of the resumes, sit in on the interviews, etc... I would challenge this assumption. There were teams in the 60's and 70's that I think were better teams. Did they have players with NBA potential like Mitchell. Probably not, but they were better teams. Mitchell's potential on the NBA level and the potential of Williams, CJ, etc... had everyone excited, but it was all potential. I wish Mitchell well and think his game will translate better in the NBA, but I don't think he is close to being our best player at North Texas. I could name quite a few before I came to Mitchell. That is not a knock on him, but it is a fact that he didn't reach his potential here for one reason or another.1 point

Blah, blah, blah, blah...... Or is it boo hoo, boo hoo, boo hoo.....broken record...we get it. We know where you stand...good God, man, we got it! The sky has fallen and the sun will never shine again over UNT basketball....understand where you are coming from...WE all do! Every college except UNT has standards and every coach in America is better than our head coach according to you. Great. Let's hope you are wrong...if not you can always say..."I told you so". Until then...God please give it a rest! We got it! Trust me, we do.1 point

I just do not think they are all they are cracked out to be. It is not always about who you beat, but who you have lost too. Just in general I do not think this butler team is like the team with Howard and Mack. I should have had them getting out of the first round, but there is no way they go further in my mind. I could be wrong because I was pretty sure there was no way new Mexico or kanas as state would lose haha. It kind of sucks because normally I make good money off of these brackets and sometimes the games but this year we are going to Vegas in the summer1 point

I thought Kansas State, Michigan, Oregon, and Arizona were all under ranked... And I though Gonzaga, New Mexico, Butler, and Oklahoma State were all way over rated.... Kansas State should have won that game. Two possessions and over 40 seconds to make a basket. Once for the lead and once for a tie and they could not capitalize. Why he would run to the right baseline is beyond me... I thought Mcgruder Would be one of the stand out players in the tourney. Oh well...he shot poorly and they lost. If duke, indiana, and michigan make it far I might be ok...1 point
