Mitchell had 4 boards tonight. I really, really, really don't like to throw around personal insults on this board. But you're not very smart.4 points

People gush over Franklin, rightly so; but don't realize that without Mitchell; he would not be close to as effective. I guess it is more fashionable to get down on Mitchell because he is not "all world" like we thought he would be. Actually NT has moved away as Mitchell as their number one offensive option is playing a little better. IMO, Mitchell is playing out of position with a Coach that has no idea how to use him. I do think that Mitchell has been pressing most of the year and he is now only a fraction of what he could be, but that fraction is still a pretty good player.3 points

As much as we're assured everyone likes and respects Benford.... you'd think they'd quit acting up like this. Weird.3 points

Let's make a deal. If we win the last three regular season games and then win the first two SBC tournament games, then I won't say another word about removing a certain head coach until next season. Would this make up for our failures this year and turn the season into a success? No, not at all. But, it would show that this team has perhaps FINALLY turned the corner, and it would give me at least a modicum of hope for next season. Of course, if this scenario did play out, I would expect more next season. However, we all know that this is implausible. We haven't won back-to-back games since December 16, and we are winless against teams in our own division.3 points

Benford's departure could be the success story for the end of the season.3 points

Say, somehow we pull the SBC championship out of our asses and lose in the first round of the dance is still a disappointment, so no. I could care less what happens in the SBC tourney, to be honest, this season is unforgiveable.3 points

Well Benford like Jones last year is in a box because he has no one else to really play the center position. Mitchell has the body and ability to be a very good center in college, but not the heart. He is pushed around a lot, and doesn't seem to like the crowd around the basket. He spends way too much time around the three point line on both ends of the court. Mitchell is quick for his size but his coordination is not great and despite what Benford's states he is not a good ball handler. The coaches are obviously playing him were they think he helps the team the most. I would really like to see him at the 4 and would greatly limit him on the outside. His outside shooting is not awful, but you are moving your best rebounder away from the basket with a poor rebounding team. I would have Coleman, Niko, and Franklin alternate at the 5, none are close to Mitchell but it would free up Tony some. His game IMO should be defense, rebounding and close to basket offense.2 points

Mitchell could be a beast on the boards if he had defensive help down low, but most of the time we play 3 guards, and a small forward with Mitchell. Mitchell then tries to help and block most shots which takes him out of rebounding positioning. The key to last nights win was Niko on the defensive boards down the stretch. He had several big rebounds while both teams were missing shots keeping 2nd chance points away from FAU.2 points

Except for PJ and Niko being named, you're right he was the only player announced.2 points

Grown Men.... Really, Grown Men. You have to be effing kidding me... Very few 18-21 year old are maturity enough to be called grown men.. I will be honest, I wasn't and neither were you, and neither were a lot of us. I'm 25 with a great career and I wouldn't even call myself a grown man. The only thing grown about them is there height, not there maturity2 points

Funny isn't it Kram that if this were a certain other player, the blame for his actions would be squarely on him.? Get him out of here they would say. Doesn't seem to me missing practice or being late consistently is very "lottery" like.2 points

Here is what I am hearing and if so it will take quiet awhile for the newbies to see any significant monetary distribution. Simply speaking, there will be four sets of books. The first book will include exit fees and other penalties or assessments payable by the departing schools that is on hand now and collected in the future. The ONLY members collecting from that fund will be those who remain from the following group AFTER 6-01-2913. This includes UAB, USM, Tulsa, UTEP, Marshall and Rice if there are no other defections before then. Any one of those defecting later will forfeit any undistributed amounts. The second set will include current years ncaa bb unit payout, tv revenue, current years bowl and BCS payout, and any other current years tourney revenue. All current members will receive their normal payouts from those funds. Departing schools will leave their earned ncaa bb units with the league. These, along with any earned and unused in the upcoming tourney, will go into a separate pool from which ONLY the remaining schools from the above group will participate until exhausted in 5yr. June 2013 will basically start a new league with new set of books. Funds from THAT years tv contract, bcs bowl payouts, other bowl payouts earned during the year, and any ncaa basketball units earned in the 2014 tourney will be distributed among MEMBERS at the time. New members will share ONLY in funds accruing to the league after the jump start date. Edit note: funds EARNED after jump start date, not funds accruing. View the full article1 point

Has absolutely Zero to do with respect for Benford or not. Has more to do with respect for yourself and your team. But, obviously not too serious...came off the bench pretty early in the game and came in with some fire and passion.1 point

Good game between 2 bad teams First game in a long time, did not make the 2 hour round trip to see 6 season tickets for this magnificent season Great game by Franklin 3 out 4 wins over bottom tier teams, but I guess it's a start Plan on going to Hot Springs, so have not totally gave up hope1 point

If theynwi a first round game, not a play in game but a real first round game then I cerainly would think of a successful end to an otherwise bad season. We would be the first 16 seed to ever win and that would be something. It ain't happening.1 point

NT 7 FAU 4 14:58 to go Mitchell hasn't played so far for some sort of rules violation. So, given that, I'd say a pretty decent start for us.1 point

I hate to say it, but I just don't see it. On the other hand, if we win the first one I'll likely be loading up the car and heading to H Springs.1 point

If we won out through Hot Springs, we'd be 17-18 headed to the Dance. Then we'd get one of the First Four games. Say we win that initial round we're .500!!! --- we'd THEN have to play Indiana or something. So, there is basically no way we can finish .500 or above. No way the season can really be salvaged. Though, if we did all of that (in a miracle) I'd almost say it was a decent season. I mean we'd have our first NCAA win and end the season winning 8 of 9.1 point
