It's almost like there was some key change in personnel that negatively impacted the team.9 points

Pull the plug. Benford can't get it done. If RV isn't capable of firing him - he should be gone as well.5 points

As bad as Benford has been this year you can't put this one on him. This one is on the players, when you miss 2 fts in the last 30 secs and give up FIVE shots on one possession you don't deserve to win the game. You have to step on their throats when you have the chance.5 points

Guys, I promise you if we can just rotate on the perimeter a little faster and execute or 3-killing zones, this is a completely different game. I know I know we're 20+ games into this new regime, but the increasingly bad losses can only mean other teams are getting better and we're not the players are at fault for giving up. It's right around the corner just ignore that 30+ point loss. I see improvement. When we have the right players whenever that happens because who would want to come join this debacle everyone will be all-in and we will win CUSA. Stop your whining, show your UNT colors and donate moremoremoremore.4 points

I'm absolutely amazed that we still have people who honestly believe that it is logical to blame 18-20 year olds who have PLAYED AT A HIGH LEVEL THEIR ENTIRE BASKETBALL CAREER UNTIL THIS SEASON. But, since I'm a big proponent of education and allowing people to see things from a different view at time, let's bake some cookies. (KRAM, step away from the keyboard...I know you want to chime in right here) Now, for the first ten years we're gonna bake our cookies with the following ingredients: Eggs Flour Sugar Butter Vanilla Extract Chocolate Chips Walnuts Pretty decent cookies. Now, let's make a slight change to our cookie recipe. Now let's bake our cookies with: Eggs Flour Sugar Butter Vanilla Extract Chocolate Chips Motor Oil Some of you, inexplicably, would honestly tell me (and more importantly, the people who DON'T buy tickets out of love for NT) that the reason their cookies taste like fermented ass is BECAUSE OF THE F'ING BUTTER, SUGAR OR EGGS!!??? Anything not to blame the motor oil or the chef who threw it into the mix, huh?3 points

Come on KRAM, stop being such a drama queen. Your opinion is in the minority right now, so you are going to get challenged on it. Don't take it personally. It's a college message board. Oh, did I mention that we will never win with this disaster as our head coach?3 points

Your opinion -- that free throw shooting is a "lost art" at UNT -- was attacked because it is incompatible with the fact that UNT leads the conference in free throw shooting % prior to tonight (I have not seen the numbers updated after tonight) and people quickly pointed that out to you in the chat, which seemed to rub you the wrong way. We were referencing actual statistics and you were just reacting to what was happening in the moment. No one is attacking you solely for having a dissenting opinion, and no one is arguing that we were great from the line tonight. We clearly were not. (56.5%)3 points

Geez, Obviously, free throws hurt NT badly tonight, the topic in the Chat was whether are not NT is a good free throw shooting team: two different things When it goes bad, it goes bad; NT had this won until a horrible finish Benford went off in post game interview about fans who thought team was not playing hard,. I agree those fans are wrong, but Benford has bigger things to worry about Frankly, at this point, wins and loses make little difference Getting team JJ ready for the tournament is the objective NT is certainly not getting any help from the referees this year That late goal tending call was awful, you don't call something after the play because Brady said to There are some positives, Jordan Williams is turning into a pretty good ball player3 points

I don't even think about it much anymore. I'm not sure when the last time my seats were occupied. It's not the losing per se that bothers me, it's the directionlessness. It's why I'm not too worried about football and am looking forward to this fall. I can sort of see the direction. Do I want things to be farther along? Sure, but I can at least make sense of the plan there. With this? It's not fun, it's not entertaining, and they're losing to teams they have no business losing to. They have no discernible direction. I'll be keeping my seats next year, Bumford or no, because I like them and I'll be a NT fan beyond his tenure here, but if he's still here next year I'll probably just go to the women's games most of the time. They may not win all the time, but at least it's entertaining.3 points

Poor little Brady. Have no idea what happened but you are only getting one side of the story. I am a lot more concern with Benford's coaching ability than this.2 points

Yeah, that was weird. Okay. I have been, for a month, formulating an open letter to RV to be sent to his office and published in the NTDaily Views section calling for Benford's immediate or immediately-following the SBT removal. This lashing out at Brady and misrepresenting our university is kinda the final straw for me, but I want to make sure I have the exact details of how everything happened on the floor before I add this to my diatribe. Can anyone corroborate stories? Vito I suppose should make mention of this soon enough on the blog...2 points

Looks like Benford said "Fuck You" and points at Brady. Grounds for termination RV? PLeaseeeee?2 points

I do believe Benford needs to go but I would of like to see what he could of done with a full healthy roster. Your move RV2 points

I actually don't have a problem with that....I think you should play straight up unless it's under 5 seconds...then you foul. The play started with about ten seconds to go. The biggest failure was not getting a defensive rebound when they had 5 offensive boards before they made a 3.2 points

sorry to hear ya'll lost tonight. We scored a whopping 51 points against Louisiana Tech tonight. Our offense is just sad sometimes. The dumpster image could come in handy for some of our games too...2 points

This is what my day will be. 1. Wake up thinking unt will win. 2. Listen to about 10 minutes before breaking another radio. 3. Follow on ESPN.com until 8 minutes left. 4. Listen to the rest of the game alone in my car. 5 cuss and scream and swear off unt sports.2 points

With the success of San Fran in the NFL and the craze the pistol is creating, does anyone think we should/will see it this season? Not as a predominant scheme (we'll still fall down for 3-4 yard gains) but as a wrinkle. It would seem Berglund would be a good fit, defenses are still a little behind the curve, and we have a pretty good stable of backs. Might add a dimension that gives us a little edge.1 point

Biggest coaching failure of the night - failing to foul on pass in after taking three-point lead, letting ASU score a three.1 point

Turn the damn ball over after the time out. Thankfully they didn't score. OT. This will not go well for us. We are too thin for OT.1 point

Unbelievable. Desperation 3 lands. The 3 will truly be the death of us this season. Still 4 secs left.. still hope of no OT.1 point

The guy falls on Tony, and does not wrap up the ball. No foul called and they called a jump ball with possession to Art St. Then a phantom hand check call on PJ. Amazing.1 point

Agreed. And I, as well as pretty much anyone not named UNTLifer, am still confused where the notion that I'm the GMG version of Malcolm X comes from. Am I supposed to be enraged because we replaced our black head coach with...A BLACK HEAD COACH? Remember folks, I didn't land on UNTLifer, UNTLifer landed on me!1 point

This is the nature of the beast. This is big boy recruiting. I'd rather have this situation than have a class filled with guys that no other schools want. Those guys can turn out good and all, but those guys are the exceptions, not the rule. As for Jermaine, I really want him in this class and he'll help us immensely, but let him go on the visit. Recruiting is a once-in-a-lifetime process so he should get to enjoy while he has the chance. If TCU offers and he chooses them, we would only have ourselves to blame. It's our fault we have had eight straight losing seasons, meanwhile they've had multiple 10 win season including two BCS games and a Rose Bowl win.1 point

Lets see Stephens and McCarney were not RV decisions. Might as well throw Dodge in there too and although Dickey was definitely not RV's hire; his lack of control over Dickey and his program was due to the interfering BOR. BS, RV is responsible for all that. Even if it was actually dictated by higher ups, you ether convince them to go another way, take the blame or hit the road. I really don't know why so many defend RV's bad hires by stating that it was someone else's decision. Every AD makes bad hires, but to me it is a much worse indictment to suggest that the AD employed someone who he knew was incapable because he didn't have the spine or skill to hold out for a qualified candidate.
