I really like what Holmen can bring, but I really wonder if he shouldn't just call it a season/career. Concussions are not to be messed with and he's had more than his share. This sucks for us and especially him. No doubt he wants to play ball.5 points

We are truly blessed. I did not realize coach Evans has 60 years of college coaching experience...5 points

I prefer the 2-3, reliable, handsome, portable. Easy to find ammo. I'll hang up and listen.3 points

I would rather they add no one. If I had to add one, my choice would be either ULL or ASU.3 points

I don't know how I feel about them as a conference mate, but I've been impressed with how quickly people have grown accustomed to the name "Texas State." Everybody knows who/where Texas State is and I've heard no one still referring to them as STSU. 2 decades later there are still those that call us NTSU.3 points

Surely there's another lunchroom around the area we could convert right?3 points

Our students and alumni need schools they can relate to and have heard of. Texas State is one of them. It gives us another in-state rival which we DESPERATLY need. LaLa does nothing for us and just another hyphen school I have to spend 5 mins explaining who they are.3 points

Everyone seems to want UNT to recruit top notch athletes being recruited by the big boys, yet when we do, folks throw their hands up and say UNT cannot compete with the big boys. Interesting that these folks get what they want and then they still aren't happy. Just can't please some folks it seems. For me, I like to see UNT stepping up its recruiting .... will win some...will lose some....but at least UNT will be in the hunt! Sign this kid, and get him in class. He might be ready to study for a change as well as play football. Mark3 points

My answer is that I hope one is in the near future for recruiting purposes. What I want to say is, "Really? Football is an outdoor sport and a little weather is good for everyone."3 points

Wait, I thought UTSA was supposed to accomplish this!!!! And when you say: BUTTS IN THE SEATS, I hope you mean UNT Students/alumni/fans, and not the other teams' fans...2 points

CUSA has 4 Texas schools, and doesn't want any more.Even if SDSU goes to Big East and UTEP takes their place in MWC, Texas State has no chance of getting in.[ I am assuming that Tulas is gone]. As of now,the CUSA/EAST is a joke. WKU would be a chance to shore it up,but CUSA should move fast as if I am WK and Marshall the MAC looks pretty good right now.Choice #2 is A-State, as they are in a good geographical location as regards MTSU,So.Miss.,and La. Tech. 3rd and last choice is ULL. How many schools from Louisiana do you really need? In fact, how many schools does CUSA want or need, which is not the same thing.12?14?16? The changes mentioned is this and other posts should take shape on or by 1/31,which is when SDSU's get out of jail card expires.2 points

You might be right about how improved the programs are at WKU, but to the general student population at NT, the Alumni of NT, and the general population in the Denton area, they are WK-WHO? We need a RIVALRY that translates into BUTTS IN THE SEATS. WKU, and sadly ASU will not provide that.2 points
-
It seems like the writing is already on the wall for the next membe to be WKU. They provide solid basketball, improving football, and good other oly sports. TxSt, ArkSt, and ULL would meet with opposition from a basketball standpoint and some would meet with opposition from a geography standpoint. Selfishly, I think I would prefer TxSt, but I voted WKU because I think they will be the next added if someone leaves. TxSt, ArkSt, and ULL all have their pluses and minuses. If the basketball schools have their way, NMSU could be a sleeper.2 points

Folks, in addition to the generous sponsors already stepping up, we have now located a sponsor for the back of the player shirts this year...We have David Anderson of ANDERSON FLOORING to thank for agreeing to sponsor this year. So, to this date our generous sponsors are:: Anderson Flooring (David and Julie Anderson) Kokjohn Long Snapping (Troy & Kevin Kokjohn) (www.longsnapperlessons.com) The Overlander Group (Rod Overlander) The chains and down markers are being sponsored by Cross Timbers Equipment (Bryan Waddle) And, om another sponsorship note...none other than David Pyke (Smitty) has agreed to once again design the logo for the front of our GMG.Com Bowl X shirts! Greatness! If you cannot play and would like to purchase a shirt ($25) just PM me with your size and the color you would like (green or white). All shirts will be pre-ordered, so if you want one you will need to pre-order through me as few/any extras will be available for purchase on game day.2 points

One stormy night, a home invader burst into my house and started threating my family, but I quickly reached into my nightstand and pulled out a zone d, used it a few times and scared him away. Zone d, is there anything you can't do?2 points

I hope I am not wrong, and all of the Benford haters are right, but we have a good coaching staff in place here. I though it was an excellent piece that George Riva and Dale did last night. We got a quality win against a tough opponent Saturday night. This is going to be a brutal swing in Florida for both the men and women this weekend, if they both go 1-1 I think you would have to call it success. Any thoughts from anyone on the fact that we are playing a little better with Chris Jones hurt and reincarnation of smurf point gaurd a la Josh White style running the point for most of the game? When P.J. stuck all but one of those free throws coming down the stretch I could not help but think about Josh.2 points

Have y'all seen the last two tweets directed to FIU? Greatness! Fake Tony Benford: @FIU_Parking I got a dozen guys looking to park it in a FIU Dazzler sometime after 9 on Thursday. Any open slots? #NoCarpool #TrainOptional @FIUMensBBall Don't start without us! I coach our bus to circle the arena until 3 seconds to tipoff, then frantically crash into the door.2 points

I understand the disappointment, but If I was that Dad and had not heard anything within 3 days of Tuberville getting the job, I am tracking Tuberville down. Especially since signing day was less than 2 months away at the time of Tuberville's hire. Yes I agree Tuberville should have called ALL of the commitments and let them know their status ASAP, I say within 48 hours. A lot of these coaches only have loyalty to themselves these days, not even their own teams. Anybody remember the fit he threw when Auburn interviewed Petrino? What an a-hole.1 point

It's actually twice, with him choosing to go the the right side for a dunk the third time. The one you talk about is not him using his body to protect the shot. There is more body to protect the shot if you shoot with the left hand in that situation. The other one you missed was when he gets a rebound and then uses the right hand awkwardly on the left side of the basket. As far as going to his left, the only thing I saw him do is take one to three dribbles left to set up his shot. Not exactly showing off a left handed dribble there. Again, I don't know how old this video is, so we may be talking about non-issues. And he does look to have an outside stroke, which is what we need more than anything right now.1 point

Teagarden was definitely tongue in cheek, but in a copy cat business, you know you will see more of that, especially in TX with the success of RGIII and JM. No doubt that it makes you look a lot better when you are a complete threat to run, but then to make throw after throw after throw. In a complete zone all year. Yes, please.1 point

Watched him play way back when I was in junior high haha. He blew my mind but I disagree. He was not the passing threat that Manziel was, but he didn't have to be in high school.1 point
