Let me get this straight. When people post things that aren't complimentary of a football program that is at eight losing seasons and counting (or a basketball program that would love to be treading water as well asthe football program currently) they need a "new gig" or should perhaps be BANNED?? Yet, we should all respect differences of opinion when the strident voice is your sunshine pumping? Would you prefer to play the role of the pot or the kettle in this scenario?4 points

Agreed that it sucks, however UNT doesn't have great brand identity.. FOR GOD'S SAKE, THIS IS THE SECOND YEAR THAT WE HAVE HAD THE NIKE JERSEYS FOR OUR FOOTBALL TEAM AND WE STILL CANT BUY NIKE REPLICAS... UNT's branding department has come a long way from 10 years ago.. however, they have second class designers making our t-shirts and design wise suck. I love UNT for the people and the sports, but the management people in the office need to be replaced.4 points

And those alumni aren't on this message board. The dedicated, been there through rain and shine, type are...and we think it's ridiculously immature to curse during your school's fight song. Clear enough?4 points

NIU is in the Orange Bowl playing Florida State and that Central Michigan beat WKU and that Ohio U is currently handing ULM's butts to them .........it just seems logical to me that those of you who have so adamently declared the MAC to be the lowest of the FBS conferences (with the Sunbelt Conference being of higher standing) might need to go back and re-think that conclusion. Even if NIU gets blown out against Florida State (and that is "iffy") it seems to me that the MAC deserves a lot of respect for what it has done this year - and before, as well. I have no dog in the hunt - I just think respect should be given where respect is due. GMG3 points

Or because they care about having breadth of opinions. The all RV love all day channel needs changing from time to time.3 points

The Star Spangled Banner for MeanGreener and his Mutha F'n Dad. O say can you see by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the Mutha F'n perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our Mutha F'n flag was still there; O say does that Mutha F'n star-spangled banner yet wave, O'er the land of the free and the Mutha F'n home of the brave? I find the above lyrics offensive and disrespectful to OUR Country. Just like adding Mutha F'n before Eagles is offensive and disrespectful to OUR University. Iwannapuntsomemore might be correct, We might have too many tea and wine sippers, but they are not on this board. I know that I care about OUR University and I have been away from Denton for close to 15 years.3 points

I don't know what beating the crap out people in hallways or blowing up buildings has to do with recruiting unless we are going after sociopaths and and common criminals. (The vertical and horizontal lines do conjure up an image of prison.) I do know that in the top one hundred commitments in the DMN today, SMU, Louisiana Tech, Rice, and even UTSA among other so-called mid -level schools are represented. Not a sign of UNT.3 points

Some time no change is the best. You talk about how intolerable everyone in DFW are, which is a pretty broad generalization, yet can't figure out why you've pissed people off. Nobody is making you live around here. Besides, the thread was about how classless adding MF'er to our fight song is and you don't agree. Again, tells me all I need to know. BTW, I feel chanting bullshit after a poor call is classless also and reflects poorly on the people participating. Blame my parents, and my father played and coached up to the college level.2 points

Maybe we should change the words of the National Anthem to the MF'ing Star Spangled Banner. Now that would be a cool tradition. Meangreener, I believe you stated your Dad thought it was funny to add MF to the fight song. Tells me all I need to know.2 points

Why do you spend so much more time posting here than on TCU's board if you are such a Frog fan? Troll?2 points

Any idea of position moves on defense like DB's to LB, LB's to DL, offense to defense or vice versa? I seem to remember J Roberts moving to DE and am curious about M Thompson moving back to DT since he was recruited to that position. TCU had a lot of success with this process and wondered if we would do the same.2 points

Kudos to the MAC. I think they have a good, tradition rich conference that garners respect from everyone, especially the media. Those teams have stuck it out during all of the conference makeovers. They focus on tradition, rivalries, and hard nose football. To me, they epitomize what college football should be about.2 points

And then it will go away again. I know kids in college think they are the center of the universe, but they are sadly mistaken. Grow up. Realize that older alums that have actually accomplished a thing or two in life don't appreciate obscenities in their alma mater's fight song. Realize that they are pissed that your immaturity caused THEIR fight song to be altered. Realize that maybe people with young children in the crowd don't want their children exposed to this language. And most of all, maybe have a sense of self-perspective that when you get older, this will be behavior of which you will be very embarrassed. If you grow up, that is.2 points

A Class B misdemeanor. If they plead no contest they'll very likely face probation and a bit of community service. Seeing as this website tells us nothing about how this transpired I'll reserve preparing the gallows. Which is not to say this is excusable.2 points

Impossible!! We all know "young" teams can't be competitive. FFRick and I were also at this game. I was impressed by what TCU did to their stadium. I still prefer Apogee because of where/how we have our seating but it is a first rate facility.1 point

Speaking of helmet talk, if you look close, the pattern on the AF helmets is made of stealth bomber silouettes. Pretty cool.1 point

Yuppie Kellerites? Now, that is a hoot! Dug yourself a bit of a hole here mean greener....best to just move along as you have insulted pretty much everyone now...so, nice job. Time to go back to wherever you seem to think is such an enlightened place to live. Am sure the program will survive without your massive support. Enjoy wherever it is you love so much..am sure they will be happy to have you go off on them as well.1 point

We could have prevented this from happening by preventing students from saying curse words at games, by redesigning our helmet, by making sure NCAA 13 has our fight song, by getting the GB to have a coherent pre-game performance and by turning Fouts Field into an opera house. Ultimately, SMU is responsible for these arrests, and Brett Vito Aliens. ...I think I got them all.1 point

But he was a 3 star recruit. I mean, that puts him right up there. At least he's not a converted HS running back, a 2 star or a recruit not offered by other D1 schools. Seriously though, he signed and I never heard another word about him.1 point

I do not watch "Bourne" movies as they are juvenile, formulaic and all too digital. I just thought that a school with a reputation in fine arts as exceptional as UNT's could come up with something a bit more original and creative. (And, no, I did not live in Bruce). By the way, thanks for the "Picker", that was, indeed, my moniker in college.1 point

This should be great competition among potentially four of the best corners we've had. Last year, we had one hurt corner (Warner), an unknown running back turned cornerback and a servicable backup (Jackson). This year we could have a semi-healthy Warner, a second-team all-conference corner (Whitfield), a JUCO all-american (Jones), and a top-notch recruit in Chad Davis. In addition, Jackson returns as the only senior, Devante Davis and Xavier Kelly got some experience, and newcomer John Schilleci all look like good FBS players. If every postition were facing improvement as much as cornerback, I'd definitely buy into an 8-win season. It would not surprise me to see Jackson and Schilleci moved to safety. Cornerback should definitely be the strongest defensive position and may be the strongest on the team.1 point

Why are all y'all complaining like y'all were never in college or have never heard or said a bad word in your life? That little added words has been said for years in the student section of sporting events that have the band at attendance. At least those so called immature college students come out and support their school and don't just sit behind a desk posting on web pages about the people supporting their teams. If a parent does not want to hear cuss words they should not take their kids to one of the most violent sports known to this world. It is funny bc this past year a so called alumni came to the ULL game. That so called alumni left in the first Quarter and emailed Mac and said he should be fired bc he sucks at coaching and he was the wrong person for the job. If I recall correctly UNT won that game didn't they???? Y'all call yourselfs alumni but never do anything than send some money to the university but never actually support their programs. We have to many tea and wine sippers. Just saying things need to change.1 point

Believe me, if any of our players start to light you up they'll be promptly subbed out. I'm told that helps them to "mature". We may lose to you by 25...but 10 years from now our players will be better husbands and fathers for it.1 point

Congrats to the pony and they should be a minimum bar that we cross. With a larger alumni base and better facilities we simply must strive to win 3 of 4 bowl games in a four year stretch. Mac knows the bar. RV feels the bar and now is the time to deliver. We will be a better team by the time we play the ponies and Jones will most likely be gone after this year. Keep the series. We will compete, we will win and this will become a big time matchup that many are looking forward to for the next few years. GMG1 point
