Thanks for the advice, UNT90. Actually, I do try to think for myself. I also try to gather my own information. I've talked to lots of folk who consider themselves Tea Partiers. They are a remarkably homogeneous group. Not only do they favor a balanced budget - everyone I've talked to wants to balance that budget by smaller government - drastically smaller government - increased taxes cannot be part of the discussion. Every Tea Partier I talked too wants to reduce government regulation - again drastically. Every Tea Partier I've talked to wants to shut down the border. Every Tea Partier I've talked to distrusts the science of climate change. Most favor English as the official language. Most want creationism taught in public schools. Most want public display of religious (read Christian) symbols. Most want to drill baby drill everywhere. So no - the Tea Party isn't just a group of well-meaning old folks who only share an understandable desire to reduce the deficit. These are die-hard extreme conservatives. Their reputation isn't a fabrication of the librul media. They really are on the extreme right of the Republican Party. Nothing wrong with that - unless you try to sell them as something they're not - moderate.5 points

You're right, Scrappy. We're on opposite sides of the political extreme. Like you, I want a balanced budget BUT I want a tax system where the rich pay their fair share. I want a government that is empowered to do the things I want government to do. I want immigration reform - not xenophobia. I want science to inform our policy & I'm not comfortable with science-denial. I don't think having an 'official language' is anything other than a manisfestation of xenophobia. I certainly don't want a Christian version of Sharia law. I don't want to drill on our most precious public land so that Exxon can make a bigger profit & so that you can pay a nickle less for gas for your guzzler. If that makes me an extreme librul, so be it. I do agree with you about the Mean Green.3 points

Putting so many seats in the wingzone is a genius design decision. In effect, it makes the sideline seats fill up with less people. It looks better on TV, and it makes the crowd feel like they are surrounded by other fans. And if we need to seat 30k, we can.3 points

They should publish the time. It's at 7:00pm. Everybody should come. It's great fun and the food is excellent. GO MEAN GREEN2 points

They seem to have forgotten that we have a different, more successful coach than we did back at that blowout. They also seem to have forgotten they have the same coach they had during the blowout. They have also forgotten about the rout they were handed last season. And that they are with without Cunningham.2 points

Hey, folks. I peruse opponents' message boards from time to time when I'm bored, but I rarely post. Thought I'd chime in on this, though. As is the case with most fan bases, the only Creighton fans who post on ESPN message boards are those 13 and under or those who haven't really gotten this whole Interwebs thing figured out. For some good chatter, head to http://bluejayunderground.com, where I think you'll find a good level of respect for North Texas when the game comes up. Excited about the series. Cheers.2 points

Are we talking about Zach or Austin? After watching ESPN's coverage of our last game I'm confused.2 points

Completely False Assumptions here. Chancellor not returning punts, Calling for Fair Catches, or not Fielding a punt is his choice to make. In fact, he has been ENCOURAGED by the coaches to step up his efforts to at least Field every punt in order to keep from making every opposing punter look like an All-American.2 points

Winnable games. Build a consistent winner and worry about stepping the competition up later. That's what Boise did, I have no problem with that model.2 points

The pressure that we got in the second half from our four down lineman on passing plays was possibly my favorite thing we did well against LaLa.2 points

Hard to see us not pulling out at least two more, but it might be difficult to play like we did last week every game but you never know. We proved we have the capability. I know we have to move on with MUTS looming this week but we DOMINATED LaLa in nearly every aspect during that second half, as evidenced by the Total yardage, time of possession, and score. If we can play like we did last week with some consistency we may very well have a special team and a special season on our hands. Let's make it a reality.2 points

That is not an option. Track is there sports in one - indoor, outdoor, and cross country. If you cut it then unt will only sponsor three mens teams and no longer be DI2 points

We had to pay Idaho to come here and play us. 1 and 1s don't require payment, I don't think this program is to the point where it can afford 2 money games in one year, with one of those money games being an FBS school, so in 2015 we are looking at another 5 game home schedule. There is no flexibility for a 1 and 1 until at least 2016, and then you are screwing yourself with road games in 2018 and 2019 and the cycle just continues. I see little flexibility in this schedule. Being in CUSA is nice, but that doesn't mean we settle for ANY season with 5 home games again. Scheduling has GOT to get better, but the hole is so deep now, I don't see how we ever get out.2 points

He was out there a few times. I really think he would be better served on the DEF side of the ball. Either way , kid is super fast and we should try to use him more since we have very few playmakers on this team Just my arm chair QB opinion1 point

2-3. I'm sticking to my preseason 5-7, but I'm not as strong as before the start of the season. 6-6 is not out of the question, and I believe the MG will be better than their final record indicates.1 point

I know this is a possibility, but when is the last time we actually bought out of a road game? It would give me more confidence if I knew of any other time in recent history where this has happened. I honestly dont know if this has occurred. Anyone?1 point

i'm sold ... if you can convince me that we'll bring our A game next week. We aren't consistent enough or talented enough for me to be confident in what will happen.1 point

You are really eaten up with the lib crap-ola. Your partisanship is clearly on display...that's OK, but don't try to act like you know anything at all about which you are speaking. Eat all the lib crap-ola you want. Want some names of those great pragmatists on the dem side? Get real.1 point

The San Antonio rag is also wasting print space by throwing their support to Sadler. But it doesnt matter as Cruz will cruise in this one. What I like about him is that Cruz isnt a career politician and has argued for constitutional principals before the supreme court several times and won. As the DMN admits, ...."he's more focused on constitutional principals..", and that's a good thing. Rick1 point

So you are saying these entry level college grads have the inside scoop on ESPN programming, which is about 100 levels above their pay grade? I know, I know. Why do I even bother...1 point

In fairness, Missouri could not. It dies get tiring, but they are just trying to explain that Tony is not the type of player that would normally attend UNT, and do it in the most concise way possible. And it's also the truth.1 point

I'll wait until we actually play and beat someone that matters. Yes, we have a lot of potential, but as someone once said. that just means you haven't done anything yet. It is very possible this place comes unglued after the Creighton game. Also, we have a head coach who has never been a head coach before. Is he a good in-game coach? Can he master rotations? We don't know yet. A lot of excitement going into the season, but a ton of unknowns, also. Can Coleman be effective this year? Has JWill and CJ improved their outside shot? Too many variables to know where we stand right now.1 point
