Found these at the RaceTrac right next to the Sam's Club at Rayzor Ranch. I go there almost daily and they have never carried UNT gear, just A&M, Texas, Baylor, and TCU. If you get a chance, swing by there while you're in town for the game Saturday and let's show them that Mean Green gear will sell! And this is football related because we need to buy these for the football game. This post has been promoted to an article9 points

I don't know about you guys but I'm gonna be just about useless at work today. It's the Friday before game day!!!! I've got the bottled water, tents, beer, chairs, tailgating crew briefed...and, because I was so amped today while shopping, I broke down and made another gallon or so of the Mean Green Punch. I'll be walking around the red/blue lots giving out samples.* *Do not drink the Mean Green Punch if: You don't like the feeling of being tipsy You are a pansy You are pregnant You are female, and don't want to risk getting pregnant You intend to sit on your hands inside the stadium You can't find your way INTO the stadium You have a heart condition You have any friends with video cameras7 points

http://www.woai.com/content/sports/highschool/story/RAW-FEED-Record-setting-Boerne-Champion-vs-Marble/3JbW7KWCE0yxQTlwjetacw.cspx I know Dodge was a utter failure as a college head coach but on a personal level I always liked the guy. Glad to see he is having some success at the high school level again.4 points

Spoke with RV early this week. He mentioned they were getting together this week(Wed or Thur) to finalize the demolition plans (what stays and what goes from inside the faciliy). Once that meeting was complete, they were to get started very soon. Still on track for a December completion.4 points

If anyone wants to get a glimpse of a team scrimmage most of the guys play at the rec on Monday's and Wednesdays starting at 4 for an hour at least. Yesterday was the first day I really got to sit and watch a good amount of basketball and I like what I saw. I watched 3 games to 11 and I'm going to highlight the performances. Teams were Patton, Coleman, Niko, Jones, and J Will vs Random Friend, T-Mitch, Rodger, Walton, and Holman. Chris Jones CJ displayed some great ball handling and passing. He was assisting a lot but he was taking the ball to the hole a lot and had the moves to get around anyone in his way. There were a few times when the small crowd that was watching would oooo and awe at some of the moves Chris was pulling off. He only took one jump shot and missed (an off balance mid range fade in Rodger's face). Jordan Williams J Will was shooting lights out. He made 6 of 8 or 9 three pointers and almost all were with a hand in his face. Jordan also had a really nice put back slam after someone missed a mid range jumper. Rodger Franklin Rodger is a work horse. I've seen him in the rec almost everyday shooting by him self or working on dribbling just trying to get better. In these scrimmages he's the leader. He's the one getting the other guys to stop talking and play some ball. He's also vocal on the court calling out screens helping on defense and always battling for the rebound. I loved the leadership Rog was showing on the court. T-Mitch vs Keith Coleman This match-up was a real treat. For anyone who hasn't seen Keith Coleman in person the dude is an absolute MONSTER. He has a build that reminds me of Dwight Howard. Tony brought up the ball most of the time for his team and was great about distributing the ball to everyone. T-Mitch displayed a little bit of everything from pulling up outside the 3pt line, to scrapping down low for offensive boards, and even drove the lane and threw down one of the hardest dunks I've ever seen in person. Playing defense on Keith proved to be a little tough for Tony though. Keith backed T-Mitch down multiple times but never got a great shot over Tony's long arms. Keith would also block Tony out for offensive rebounds and got a few easy put backs. Rog would yell "TONY KEEP THAT DUDE OUTTA THERE!" If not for Keith's size Tony would have had no trouble guarding him, he was just a little over powered. Both Tony and Keith pinned lay ups off the back board as well (Keith's probably would have been called a goal tend). Tony wasn't the only one with a thunderous dunk either Keith threw down a vicious 2 hand slam after losing Tony in traffic. Everyone Else Justin Patton - didn't impress me. He shot's didn't fall and he didn't seem to be as aggressive as the other guys I mentioned. Brandon Walton - still has a good 3 ball but didn't see him do much else. Niko - cleaned up some of the trash around the bucket and got to the hole a few times. Jacob - tried to throw down some huge dunks over Keith but were both blocked. He was pretty low key but when he shot he made them. Clarke - saw him up there Monday and has a great 3 point shot and made 6-7 in a row consistently (No defender) PJ - didn't show up on time and was sitting on the side when I left but he's been up there previously and has great quickness and the ability to get to the bucket like Chris. Alzee - I haven't seen Al at the rec at all. I don't know if his class schedule conflicts but I go to the rec various times and I never see Alzee there or with the guys. Seems to me Rog noticed this and has assumed the leadership role. Really wish I knew what was going on there. TJ - haven't seen TJ at the rec either but he might still be dealing with his eligibility issues. The thing that impressed me the most while watching this is, it wasn't just some pick up game, these guys were intense. There was trash talking between Keith and Tony and between teams. These guys were really pushing each other to get better and not just letting it be an NBA all-star game out there. I'm really excited for this season and can't wait to see how far we go. UNT has offered Darius Lemora, safety from Port Arthur Memorial, making him the 5th player from Memorial in the class of 2013 to be offered. DT Matthew Romar is the best of the five and has an impressive offer sheet so I'm not sure if he's in the cards at this point. Also, I believe we have offered Gary Moore from Clarksville, although I'm not sure how recent the offer is. He doesn't show an offer on any of the 4 websites but I read the other day we offered him as a TE. He is from the same school Jarrian Roberts came from and is 6'6 and a 5.7 grade on Rivals, #73 WR #61 overall Texas prospect. I vaguely remember reading something about how academics were a question for the kid and that's why the AQ schools backed off a few months ago. Gary Moore, Clarksville, WR, showing offers from Ark. Some of you people are putting WAYYYY too much stock in this one listing, from a source I've never even heard of. Dave Campbell's has UNT #6 in Texas, UTSA #9, and TS-SM #11. Dallas Morning News has UNT #6, UTSA #10, and TS-SM unranked. Even the biased San Antonio paper has UNT #6, UTSA #7, and TS-SM #11. So GL2Greatness, you might observe (but you probably won't) that reputable sportswriters know there are many times when a 1-2 team can be clearly superior to a 3-0 team.3 points

To any who think we must continue to schedule all our OOC games against top teams where we will struggle to consistently win, please see above. Perception is reality. Win/Loss record is perception. Therefore Win/Loss is Reality. I am not talking about the 5% die hard fans that take the time to break down the losses and see the internal positives. It is the 95% that fills the stands and buys the concessions and sends in contributions...when their team is winning. Once you build a tradition of winning, fans will be a little more forgiving, for a while.3 points

I have been told they are looking into not only canceling classes but also closing down the dining halls and any student that attends the game can use their dinning card for a free dog or nacho and drink at the game.3 points

One summer when I was a kid, the muffler fell of my brother's car while he was driving. He told me to run back and get it out of the road. I learned a harsh lesson when I picked it up with my bare hands. The whole Todd Dodge fiasco is sorta like that. It's just something that's kinda hard to forget.2 points

We've been struggling to get the ball into our established play-maker's...namely Brelan Chancellor...on a consistent basis. Let's concern ourselves more with getting Chancellor, Delgado and Bynes touches rather than one red-shirt and one true freshman who didn't push a couple of walk-ons off the 2-deep.2 points

You can only buy an extra season parking pass if you're a season ticket holder and donor. I bought an extra one for $100 and split the cost with a friend. We use it to get the wives to drive down together when they aren't up for an all day tailgate.2 points

While this list is ridiculous and UTSA hasn't played anyone, I have had 3 people mention how well UTSA is doing so far this year and reference their 3-0 record. I brought up the quality of opponents but they didn't really care. "No losses means they're doing something right." I invited them all to watch the Mean Green play in the Alamo Dome in years to come.2 points

Call me a homer, but I have no doubt if we played UTSA or Texas State this weekend we would have a “W” in either of the games – be it played at home or on the road2 points

This is where having a deep team makes everyone better. Number one is pushed by number two not by scout team guys.2 points

Appreciate your view, but I guarantee you that Rubit and Mitchell's ability was not close last year and unless Rubit has gotten a lot better and Mitchall a lot worse, it is not close right now. You admit you have not seen either one in person, so I can understand your take. However, you are projecting who is going to be the best player in the league which is not the same as who has produced the most so far. Rubit is a good player but no one that has seen both play several times is going to pick him over Mitchell. One game does not mean a lot but in the USA vs NT game last year, Rubit had 2 points and 6 rebounds; Mitchell 34 points and 16 rebounds. I don't know if you realize that Mitchell did not practice with the team prior to becoming eligible in the second semester last year and a couple of weeks later NT loses their starting point guard, who by the way led the conference in scoring and assists at the time so he should definitely be in your top ten" and another key player. So Mitchell was rusty not having played regularly in two years, and the team was hampered playing the last semester with only three scholarship guards. Team chemistry was definitely a problem. Silly to question the right decision because you thought it was close, but talent like Mitchell doesn't come around often for 300 plus teams in div. 1.2 points

Or...You could buy season tickets. And maybe make a contribution to the Mean Green Club. That way, your parking delima would be solved, you would know exactly where you were going to sit at each game, you would be counted when CUSA wants to know how many season tickets North Texas sold last year, and more money would be available to support student athletes at the University of North Texas.
