When you get old your memory fades badly. I missed a few home games in 65 and 66, the snow game against Florida State (I only made it less than 10 miles in an hour), and all of the 1983 season. I could have missed a couple of others but I honestly don't remember. Oh yeah, I missed the 1951 through 1954 seasons except for the opening of Fouts in 1952 (home on leave). Otherwise, everything else since 1948.6 points

Is this the best choice of words by Eric Capper? “It was a no-brainer, he’s a natural fit,” said Eric Capper, senior assistant athletic director.5 points

I love when McCarney says "we don't need anybody standing around eating chicken." So I created this....yes I'm bored at work.4 points

Thanks so much for all the love! We really, really appreciate it. You'd be surprised how long signs take to make. At this point, we're planning to make more Thursday as well: Dear Sunbelt- it's not you it's us. A general UNT football sign And one for Chancellor. We still don't have anything brilliant for him. Ideas? I love the idea of a hit rating sign. I'm sure we could do that! We're also getting them laminated this year, so we'll have them the whole season (trying to learn from our soaked signs at the FIU game last year). We haven't ever had any trouble bringing signs into Apogee. I also brought in huge heads last year and they didn't say anything. We're pros at this point3 points

You hate the Cowboys because they signed him from the practice squad, flew him to New York, and let him stand on the sideline? More than ever?3 points

Somebody on the forum came up with the idea we should rate all hits on a "Hilbert Scale", so somebody should make a sign that can be used to rate hits during the game.3 points

All my friends as well as myself are seniors or freshly graduated, are not greek, and we plan on being on tailgating and going to the game as usual. But unlike the frats and sororities we care more about the game than getting hammered. We know how to have a good time but most of the greeks I talked to stayed outside once the game started last year. Otherwise mood on campus is great. Everyone is really excited about the game and this season. If we win more people come to the next game and so on and so forth. GO MEAN GREEN!3 points

Sounds like a looooot are gonna be there.. Can't compliment enough on how good Mac and administration have been stressing students to go.. And Greeks will be out in full force.. Mood on campus is good.. Energy within the student body has hit an all time high and will only continue to grow3 points

That must be what they are labeling the game after the QB hit last saturday night.3 points

This hit was #9 on sportcenters top ten today by the way. It might have been sportscenter or college football live not sure.3 points

Already have 20+ confirmed for tailgate and game. Should be up around 50 by game time my guess. We had around 35 for the spring game tailgate I'll try to fly the North Texas & Battle Flag combo at our tailgate for anyone who wants to stop by.3 points

That was an incredible hit. For the rest of this year, we should rate hard hits on the Hilbert Scale.3 points

i'm pretty sure the last home game i missed was on nov. 19, 2005 against monroe (i had to go back and look at schedules)...this saturday will mark my 35th straight home game to attend...so tell me...if you can, how many home games have you made in a row??? i've been blessed to not have any life on the weekends, other than football, and an understanding wife that has no issue with me spending ungodly amounts of time tailgating, drinking, acting a fool, and attending the home games. i don't always get to stay the entire game, but i show up for at least a half. yes...THIS IS A PISSING CONTEST!!!! HAHAHAH...KIDDING!2 points

1)Allen's new stadium is worth every penny they paid. Seeing Southlake Carroll lose (and get shut out) was just a cherry on the sundae. They deserve to go winless for sending us the Dodge curse. Allen wasn't ready for a selliout though. A 45 minute line to get into the stadium and an hour long line for concessions that never went away prove they didn't prepare logistically. 2)MUTS loses to an FCS, FAU almost does. There is no question this is the weakest conference in America. We really need to leave this place on a high note. 3)La Tech starts with aTM, Northern Illinois begins with Iowa, UTEP starts with Oklahoma...as HOME games. By the obvious rules of college football scheduling (correct me if I'm wrong KRAM) they will now have to host at least two FCS schools next season. You know, because bringing in an attractive opponent means you can't possible replicate that the next year. Yes, two of these games are played away from the "home" team's stadium...would ANYBODY here prefer the game in Baton Rouge over, say, the Cotton Bowl or Jerry World? 4)Penn State would have been way better off with the death penalty. Ohio is no pushover...they also are no Ohio State, Michigan, or even Iowa or Illinois. It could get U-G-L-Y 5)I am pulling SO HARD for South Alabama today. I want UTSA to lose each and every game they play.2 points

This is a good point. A lot of Juniors, Seniors and 5+year Seniors are the ones embedded in the apathetic culture. However, I think each new freshman class is becoming more spirited than the one prior. It will only get better when their freshman year they see a team win.2 points

From the people that I know, everyone is ready for some football and tailgating, now most of them are in fraternities and sororities... I'm still hearing from people not in fraternities and sororities could give two shits about tailgating and football... These are all jr, sr, super super sr (like myself) not freshman and sophomores2 points

Have to agree for the most part. Cliff's note version is: Get your collective shite together and people tend to recognize that and go "Hey, they have their collective shite together. Let's get on board with those guys." Better late than never though. Onward.2 points

UTSA didn't tell their alumni and students that they should accept a demotion in the level of football like North Texas did--and then kept it that way for 12 years, while the other schools in its vicinity were still playing at a very high level in the only conference that mattered to fans and the media in this state at that time. UTSA probably used us as an example of what not to do when making this move upward. They used their market, their media, and their major facility near them all to their advantage. We literally did none of that for 80+ years. I'm more envious of the fact that their leadership recognized the advantages they had and ran with it to CUSA. It stil boggles my mind to this day that it took a poster from this board to basically organize a big enough coalition of students to pass a referendum to build a new facility that by itself has allowed us to gain admittance to CUSA. Because, make now mistake about it, if we hadn't passed the fee to build Apogee, which the AD had proved it couldn't do, and we were still playing at Fouts, our future would probably be no brighter than playing in the SBC and knowing that the FBS sickle would be culling us out again. UTSA may not gain your respect because of their easier road, but they have definitely gained my respect in avoiding the train wrecks that we made during our long road to CUSA admittance.2 points

Coming into the season, I was expecting Trice to be our "hit man" in the secondary. So far my assessment of Trice is....somewhat disappointing. Now, Mr. Jackson is setting the pace for how DB's should be hitting.2 points
