I understand what he's saying and love Coach Mac, but I have always been proud of North Texas, as most on here have. You have to agree though, that we are the diehards and he was talking about the majority.5 points

Mac just said NT football fans are wearing shirts inside out because they have not been proud og Football program. He said he wanted to give fans a program they could wear their shirts showing the were proud to support program. I don't know about you but I always have worn my NT gear with pride. And I've always been proud of the young men and women that represent NT, in any sport.4 points

Dropped my son off at Bruce Hall Saturday and spent an hour or so at the student union bookstore, Target, Walmart, and a couple of other places. MANY people were buying MG stuff, and LOTS of students had on UNT gear. I did not see a single shirt or hat from any other school other than an ACU dad and a UT dad with his daughter who had on her MG stuff.4 points

I like this idea but if we are going to do it, then we need to do it right. Like we did with our stadium. An indoor facility that matches the stadium, made with some or mostly brick, and not just a bubble that looks very cheap over time. Baseball can come later. Football is the largest sport and can raise the most money for NT athletics. The money we eventually make, through going to bowl games and etc., will give us more funds to start the baseball program and facilities the right way. Rick V. has done a tremendous job and I'm sure he will see that it's done the right way. Now that we will be entering into CUSA, there should be more money as well for our program..... It's an exciting time to be a NT fan and the future looks even brighter!!! Go Mean Green4 points

Why even talk about it? Well, how about this....if we don't take ourselves seriously, then why should anyone else. Not talking ourselves, (or our program), seriously is old North Texas culture. We can build all the new facilities that we want, but if we don't build something new between our ears, we'll always be small time. We'll always be NTSU in everyone's mind.3 points

I compared the bye weeks for both LSU and UNT. None fall on the same week. This basically throws out rescheduling. It looks like its either Apogee or Nothing. Id throw out cotton bowl or any other neutral site because it would cost us venue fees and it probably wouldn't be prepped in time. Im sure Apogee is already getting ready for Texas Southern for Sep 8 This would give us the opportunity to get Apogee on the national stage TWICE! This could really pull the Denton community together. Turning a snooze of a home schedule into (almost) the hottest ticket in town. (Cowboy Classic sold out) Imagine a sold out Apogee, standing room only,Green&White,Purple&Gold, Scrappy&Mike The Tiger, Boomer kicking off the season on ESPNU With BR fans and citizens needing to evacuate, this could really boost the Denton economy. We have the additional hotels built recently that can accommodate this huge traveling fan base Let's hope Rick V. and the athletic dept take the bull by the horns to make this happen. They were open to the idea last time but Fouts couldn't handle it due to generators We have Apogee now. It's possible.3 points

I'm hoping that due to the LSU legal counsel's lack of common english skills and general intelligence, that a clause in the game contract specifying that Hurricanes are an acceptable cause for non-payment was not included, and therefore when "the swamp" becomes a literal swamp and the game cannot occur, that LSU can simply write their check, and we move on with an 11-game season, no serious injuries, and our first season opener at home in over a decade.3 points

Just in case, Coach Mac should have them practice with the sprinklers on this week.3 points

+1 UNT90 indoor facility should come first, before baseball. We gotta finish up the cash cow first3 points

Agree on the 5 million. Don't know about the "after baseball", though. Getting this built would be the final touch on all the existing programs and allow total focus to be placed on building a baseball program and stadium, which would require a whole lot more than 5 mil.3 points

Congrats to Mean Green soccer being ranked #9 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women's - South - Poll 2 - August 28, 2012 Link: http://www.nscaa.com...dbb00ab789cf001 UNT is ranked in the South region as opposed to most other Texas schools (central region), because of conference affiliation. Full regional rankings Link: http://www.nscaa.com.../2012-august-28 Great start for Coach Hedlund and this young team!2 points

Hi guys I am a french exchange student at UNT and I am supposed to flight to New Orleans on Thursday in order to see the game. I am kind of lost with all this information about the storm. Is the game still in the air or it will be canceled ? Is there a website where I can follow the weather forecast ? Thanks for your help2 points

He's just saying the vast majority of UNT, students, alumni, and faculty usually don't associate themselves with UNT and cheer for other school's teams. I've heard, "Yeah, I go to UNT, but my team is University X" more times than I can remember. It's gotten a lot better, but it's still a big problem.2 points

If this facility is built, and it SHOULD be, spend an extra million or so to make the football facility so that it can accommodate Olympic sports indoor needs (designated times when football is not using it). I think soccer, softball, tennis, golf, etc need access now that the basketball indoor facility has taken away any indoor space these sports had. GMG2 points

Always feels good when our NT programs beat teams like the University of Houston of the Big East. Congratulations ladies, now lets make it 2-0 when our football team travels down to Houston to beat up on the cougars! Go Mean Green2 points

Frogs, locusts, fire, and brimstone seem a little outdated.......maybe some divine being is using tropical storms to tell LSU to move these games to North Texas. There may be no electricity in Baton Rouge this weekend and the city may be in full recovery mode. Should this week's game be moved to North Texas if it cannot be played in Baton Rouge and another suitable weekend cannot be scheduled?1 point

The only reason I can think of off the top of my head is that LSU wants a full record. Some people might give them criticism for not playing as many games as other colleges if they skip out on this one instead of moving it. One game shouldn't matter, but you know how people are. EDIT: Oh, and that Apogee isn't Fouts.1 point

I can't think of any reason LSU would ever be okay with playing in Denton. If someone can give me a reason, I'm all ears.1 point

NOT a waste of funds!!! Indoor facility is a huge selling feature in recruiting. Just think of the benefits: 1) weather ( heat, cold, wet ) is not an issue 2) can be a huge recruiting advantage going into CUSA 3) can be used by other sports1 point
