Love being able to say that. Volleyball (2-0) and Soccer (3-0) start the NT sports year off very well. Am I missing any other sport? Let's keep this run going THROUGH Saturday, September 1! Go Ladies! GMG2 points

Shut up, Flyer. Harrison looks good through 6, but pitch count already in the 80s. Good things.2 points

Guess I should update this thread more than once every couple months... However many football games I make it to this season, they'll be the first I've been to without Brian since 04-05. Still holding out hope for some Super Pit action though... Brian's made incredible strides in the past couple months with still a long ways to go. Being a non-insured charity case, I think the Hospital released him a couple weeks before he was really strong enough, but he's steadily getting there. Almost 3 months in a hospital bed (not to mention 6 invasive brain surgeries) will apparently zap you of all your strength. He's finally to the point where he can get up and walk around (unassisted but usually with a walker) but her tires out quickly. The biggest hurdle now is short term memory and other cognitive issues. His long term memory is amazing, probably better than mine, but the short just isn't there yet. We were all getting a little worried with the lack more drastic improvement, but after his first CT scan in weeks and weeks (cost prohibitive) we were given great news! The tumor is DEAD. What none of us realized is that they don't always shrink while they're dying... So now its basically a racquetball sized cyst sitting in there, not growing, but still putting pressure on important areas of the brain. All indications are that it should begin to shrink and be absorbed once he begins chemo! Then the real improvement can begin. Their debt continues to grow by the day, and I could give you some real horror stories from their interactions with Denton's local hospitals, but I've already typed about twice as much as I like. If you'd like any more information, the website in the first post of the thread has been updated as recently as a couple days ago. Thank you for your continued thoughts, prayers, and donations.2 points

I would sure love to see something similar to the 30-foot wide and 15-foot tall video board CUSA conference mate Tulsa installed in the Reynolds Center last season:2 points

That's right. Spend a few extra bucks to support your Athletic Department and get counted in the number of fans that UNT travels. It's worth it.2 points

no way man... buy your tickets from our ticket office to support our the Athletic Dept.2 points

Lance Armstrong doping has been the worst kept secret since Clay Aiken's sexuality. As soon as people left the team, they got caught doping. Did they decide all of the sudden to start doping, or were they simply afforded protection under Armstrong's big happy yellow feelgood umbrella? Armstrong gave it up once it was clear that arbitration would go forward and the testimony of guys like Hincapie would go public, a proceeding that he tried to block by suing the agency. THAT'S the point at which he stopped the fight. Now he gets to keep his righteous indignation, and doesn't have to refute the specific testimony of his accusers. This way he keeps that testimony out of the press. Yes, he's never tested positive. Neither did Barry Bonds. Neither did Marion Jones. Neither did Basso or Ullrich and a slew of other proven dopers. It's not a coincidence that as the anti-doping orgs have started showing their teeth, the performances in these sports have suffered. Cycling's always been dirty, though. And having been in Austin during some of the height of the Lance Armstrong era and being around the guy, good riddance.2 points

Probably the most acclaimed made-for-television movie ever. Over 40 years later and I still occasionally use the 'how's your mother' quote.1 point

I only lived in Bruce Hall for one semester then I was out. If you know or knew a guy that everyone calls Shep, then you met me. Plus I only went to about 6 or 7 games during those years. So, I was not a regular.1 point

North Texas (2-0-0) @ Sam Houston State (1-1-0) 7:00pm - Hunstville, TX Hopefully some of our Houston area alumni decide to make the short trip up to support the ladies. SHSU so far this year has a 1-0 win over Prairie View A&M, and a 1-0 loss to Texas State. NT beat SHSU 3-1 at home last year, but fell 1-0 in OT the year before in a game that was an absolute downpour for the full 90 minutes and more. If the ladies can take care of business, they will be undefeated heading into the home opener against UH on Sunday. Go Mean Green!1 point

Last year, Student section was always double, and some games triple or quadruple, what it was in 2010. Hoping to see this trend continue to grow.1 point

I went to a few games when I was went to school at UNT and it was fun, but I agree it is way more fun when people are loud and really into it.1 point

This version of offseason TFLF should never, ever go away. The football season is no substitute for these HSO's, just like baby oil isn't a great substitute for Astroglide.1 point

Any chance that after a night of drinking in a Courtyard by Marriott bar following a leadership conference you attended as you slaved your way up the corporate ladder that you brought back that slightly chunky girl in the Lane Bryant pant-suit drinking martinis and fathered an illegitimate son?1 point

Dodge sacrificed one year of Thompson's career in a selfish attempt to save his career (even though he wasn't fired at year's end, as he should have been. For this decision alone). The singular worst personnel decision I have ever seen made by a college (use that term loosely) football coach.1 point
