They should be, but RV hopefully understands our full hatred for SMU and wouldn't want to lose all the friends he's made the past 12 years at UNT!4 points

Any information out there on how C-USA and the future basketball schedule will work? Do we play all teams twice or just west teams twice and east teams once. With a 14 team conference I can see how not all schools will play each other. I am looking forward to trips to Norfolk but realize we wont be going there that often for either football or basketball.2 points

I supported Rudy's today by stopping there and eating lunch. GMG.!2 points

I guess this is the Big-12 and SEC's response to the semi-partnership that has developed between the Pac-12 and the Big Ten. It looks like the ACC to some extent and the BE are going to be SOL.2 points

I think there will be twelve teams starting in 2013 then shift to fourteen when Old Dominion and Charlotte come in. That should give us a championship game from the start. My guess is that Tulane starts in the East then shifts to the West once the two eastern teams become eligible.2 points

so will Tulane and USM head East in Football until Charlotte and ODU become official for Football in order to make it 6/6, then both go West once Charoltte and ODU can compete circa 2015?2 points

It's really discouraging how badly we have been beaten by the course today. Seven shots worse than any other team and +12 for the day (so far). Twenty one strokes back of the best round of the day and 11 back of 5th (and a trip to the NCAA's).2 points

Ok, I just had to weigh-in with my history/old coot comment of the day. When I went to North Texas, Sack and Save was a Gibsons.......the forerunner to WalMart. And the McDonalds was totally dressed out in Mean Green colors (the apple green color) and decorations.... including the ceiling light fixtures that had Mean Green football helmets as the light shades.2 points

Nothing to comment on. Nurse killed the lady in cold blood. i don't care the color of any of their skin. There is no hidden agenda by the media in that case. She did it, we know why she did it, there is no question on motive or situation. Very different case. In the Martin/Zimmerman case, there is question as to what led up to the shooting, all of which is FAAAAAAAR more important than the skin color of EITHER of the men involved (which to clarify isn't important AT ALL). Race aside, I can understand the interest in the case just from a pure "what really happened?" point of view. It's specifically the racial component of the Martin/Zimmerman case that I reject and am down on the media, many politicians and the typical race-baiters for trying to make an issue when clearly it wasn't. If Zimmerman committed a crime, he should be punished. If not, he should go free. This is the same no matter the race of the alleged victim.2 points

Few may know but the Rudy's in Waco refused to cater the UNT tailgate the last time we played BU in Waco. The Denton Rudy's packed up all their food and supplies and catered that function driving 100+ miles to do so. Come to the Monday night shows beginning on Labor Day to support NT fb and support Rudy's Denton for all they do. You'll see plenty of North Texas gear there too.2 points

I think we should continue the "Question, no info" meme because it's hilarious. But we need to remember to phrase the first line as a statement rather than a question, Ex: Ponyfans.com a gay singles site? is better than Is ponyfans.com a gay singles site?2 points

I remember reading that the main bridge structure will be built off-site (I assume in several sections), and put in place once the supporting structure was done.2 points

I think Rick's quote only adressed cutting players that were not playing well. He did say they will release players under other circumstances.2 points

Great job as always. I didn't get home from The Ft Worth caravan in time to participate live. Benford added to the story about being at the spring game with RV. Apparently RV saw Brett coming along and quickly told Benford to get away from him and scurried off leaving Benford without knowing where to go. Good theater of the mind.1 point

I think it's Johnathan Motley. He's 6'8 as they said in the podcast, from Houston, and has Baylor on schools of interest although no offer. He could have recently gotten offers from both Tech & Baylor. He's #10 in the state on ESPN as linked above. It would be great if it was him, there's not much film available but he looks good from what I've seen.1 point

Definitely. I was 100% planning on sitting in the away section. Just making sure I couldn't use my ID to get in to the away sections. It appears as if I can not do that. However, I will try to go to a few home games that my beloved UNT is not playing and I might even don some red and white.1 point

I thought RV said he doesn't allow new coaches to release players due to ability....ie he doesn't let a new coach come in and dump 3 quarters of the roster.1 point

Larry Brown has already applied, unaware that his employer will be the same as athletic director as it was as head-basketball-coach-in-dying. He is really old, ya know.1 point

Gagree on the Big East thought. Maybe they are rethinking their memership and blame him. Or maybe he was dating a hooker and not killing them?1 point

I'd definitely recommend it if you're going to be wearing green and cheering for UNT. The student section can be a bit "enthusiastic."1 point

I would think that if we were that involved in his recruiting process, we would be listed on the kid's rival page . But, as we all know, Rivals ain't always right.1 point

It would definitely be a pay upgrade and ultimately that is the key deciding factor. But he would have to deal with empty stadiums/arenas as well as hardcore apathy all over again. I think RV has his sights for a bigger time program should he have the desire to leave and I don't think he's that far off from getting looks from the big boys.1 point
