ULL Coach Bob Marlin suspended two players today and they will not travel to Hot Springs. Raymone Andrews - 25 min, 6.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists per game J.J. Thomas - 21 mins, 8.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists per game. Here's the link: http://espn1420.com/two-cajun-basketball-players-suspended/ Not star players, but solid contributors. You never know how a team will react to something like that.6 points

no problem amigo. i'll just stalk ya'll into the super-duper conference and you'll have to explain that i'm not 'actually' one of yours to your new conference-mates. you can act like i'm that cross-eyed cousin at the family reunion. the one that everyone in the family knows ain't really the father's kid except him. (the women folks whisper what a hussy the mom is too.) that said...i did my recon of ragin pagin and they have a 7 page thread just tearing into each other. it's freakin' deliciosa. i know everybody's been eatin' second helpings of the schaudenfraude we've been serving up over in hilltopper nation for the past 2 year. but god almighty i'm bloated from the second serving i just finished over yonder in swampville.6 points

I did something very similar with my opening day ticket from Apogee. I ordered a print from Johnny Carroll. He does aerial photography work. Here is the gallery on his site: http://proofs.dtxphoto.com/Commercial/aerial/apogee/19030212_6sN3XP#!i=1479915864&k=SMkxrgN This is what I did with an 8x12 photo I ordered from his site.4 points

This is exactly what I mean. Since they've been gone on at least 3 occassions we've had chances to win in regulation or overtime. We've either gone 4 down/isolation or high pick and have settled for a 3 or missed the shot hoping for a tap in. CJ had the ability to break you down off the dribble and take a higher percentage shot or hit the open man for a clean look. We're not getting clean looks in these situations and are having to settle for contested shots. Yes, Tony is your "go to" guy throughout the course of the game. Yes, Alzee has stepped up and played fantastic. However, with 10 seconds left and the final shot I want a pg with handles who can get his shot or drive and dish to an open man for their shot.4 points

Glad McCarney is doing well and is expected to have a full recovery. Here's a video and article from Iowa: http://www.kcci.com/r/30447158/detail.html I love coach Mac as our football coach. He has already done tremendous things for our program and I'm sure he will do many, many, many more. Now, I know this story concerns his health and is something we all hope he never has to experience again. However, this news station in Iowa did a full 2:22 story on him and included North Texas logos and video (mixed in with Iowa State footage) that gave us great exposure and recognition in a part of the country we would have never gotten positive exposure previously. I have a feeling that a strange crowd of North Texas fans are starting to accumulate in that part of the country and I couldn't be more excited that Coach McCarney has been able to bridge the connection. I just wanted to say welcome aboard to those Iowa State North Texans and thank you to coach Mac for all that you have done for UNT and all that you will do in the future! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!3 points

Ok. Keep cherry picking to hold out hope for a R president. The economy is improving, it has been improving, and will continue to improve. Sorry that won't work out for you politically.3 points

I get what you mean. Other teams deny Tony the ball and we end up jacking up a contested 3. Yes, we miss those 2. We miss the one who used to play point guard the most when it comes to crunch time.3 points

I felt that was the spark that led us to our last NCAA tournament appearance. We all know I'd take a bullet for this team, so this would be the least I can do.2 points

Finally, some sense regarding UTSA. Folks, that program is a train wreck waiting to happen. They have NOTHING good to offer a conference. Crossing fingers and hoping to get UTSA to join the Sun Belt is "small time" thinking in the extreme.2 points

Their fan base must be really bummed after their last game and now this. No win in tourney play is guaranteed but I do believe this should make our first game slightly easier which is good cause we will need to be on our A game and rested for the final two. With a bummed fan base hopefully those ULL fans that were on the fence about going to Hot Springs wont now and we continue to travel well like we always do so everyone get your you know whats to Hot Springs! A huge UNT crowd in Hot Springs does make a difference and gives us a home court advantage. I truly believe our guys play off of us, their fans, so lets go be the difference makers! GO MEAN GREEN!2 points

Would someone please lie or humor me and please tell me we are going to get in a more interesting conference?2 points

They did not put up solid numbers against UNT this season but both picked up quite a few rebounds...I think 25 or 26 combined in our two losses. That should benefit us.... at least on the boards.2 points

yikes....that's really a pretty big deal. ima do a covert mission on ragin pagin. all is not well in swampville. first laying down in their last game...at home...against the last team in the world their fans could stomach losing to. now this. 'the beard' bein' in trouble.2 points

That driver is being charged with DUI. He could still be charged with DUI if marijuana was legal. Every day millions of Americans use pot or alcohol without harming anybody else. You'd declare them all illegal because of the small number of people who can't exercise good judgment. That reasoning could be extended to any mood-altering substance -- tobacco, caffeine, energy drinks, and on and on. Instead of blaming the drugs or the booze, how about blaming the people who can't handle themselves?2 points

Of course federal law trumps state law. However, you're forgetting the effects of enforcement nullification. What is that? Well, when a state - hypothetically, the state of Lone Star -passes a law decriminalizing or allowing medical use of marijuana, the Federal government loses the ability to adequately enforce it's laws. That's one of the beauties of our Federalist system. Although the Feds can still carry out raids with local assistance, no local information is getting to the federal level, making enforcement, aside from a few showy raids, impossible. Here's an example: Let's say I run Pot is Us in the city of Town, County of Franklin, State of Lone Star. Does the local cop report my operation which he sees 3 times a day? No. The county sheriff? No. The DA or legislators? As anyone who is familiar with lawyers and drug use would know, hell no. What about the state licensing authority or it's tax department. All still no. So here's the rub: as long as I stay too small to ignore on a national level, or as long as I'm not horribly unlucky to be the 1 producer out of 10,000 raided, I'm fine. Now, here's the argumentative part. First, anyone who supports the outcome in Raich is not a conservative. What allows me to say that? Because that case took theabuse of the Commerce Clause to its maximum possible extent, and conservatives hate the Commerce Clause more than they hate Obama. Second, the argument that pot is bad because it kills people is specious at best. Further the argument that pot kills as many people as alcohol is an argument supporting the prohibition of alcohol, not the prohibition of pot. Guns, hamburgers, legal drugs, alcohol, tobacco and cars all killed more people than illegal drugs, and I sure don't want any of those things banned. Third, pot's status as an illegal drug kills far more people than pot itself. Altria and other companies, if allowed to buy and sell pot, would not engage in the sort of wholesale bloodletting of the type that is happening in Mexico right now. Fourth, coming from a strict constructionist constitutional view, you have a right to use pot. Courts would not Follow this logic - yet - but any conservative reading of the Constitution makes it clear. The fact that no right to use pot is mentioned doesn't, mean the right does not exist (9th Amend), states are granted the authority to regulate drugs, not the federal government (10th) , and one's right to liberty outweighs the government's interests in banning something it simply doesn't like ( Lawrence v. Texas, 14th).2 points

Wow. Your starting to get into the Coffee and Tea realm, here. Surely you understand that we barely missed Bin Laden during the Bush administration, right? I guess you think Bush wanted to barely miss Bin Laden? I guess it just doesn't make sense to you that the intelligence gathering apparatus put in place during the Bush administration was utilized during the Obama administration to effect the killing of Bin Laden, right? We can't give both of them credit for hunting down public enemy #1, who was clearly protected by a foreign government, because we HAVE to stay in party lines, right? If you seriously think Bush didn't care about killing Bin Laden, you are in the catagory of the people mentioned in my pervious post and there really is no reason to have a dialog with you anymore, because everything the left does is right and everything the right does is not only wrong, but most likely illegal, right? I hold Bush accountable for starting us on this crazy spending spree. I hold Obama accountable for not only continuing the spending spree, but increasing it at a breakneck pace. I give Obama credit for taking the political risk to kill Bin Laden up close and personal. Do I think he did anything extra that magically led to finding Bin Laden? No, the apparatus was already in place. Now, what, if anything, negative do you hold Obama accountable for?1 point

Federal say-so, from June 21, 2011...during the Obama administration: https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2011/07/08/2011-16994/denial-of-petition-to-initiate-proceedings-to-reschedule-marijuana#h-8 Ka-pow! The Feds once again deny a petition to even initiate proceedings to reschedule marijuana. What was my earlier post? Keep flying into that Federal window, potbirds! See, what happens is, people who don't waste time smoking grass go into medical and scientific research fields, and...you know...make these reports that the government can actually use to form coherent national policy. I know,I know. It's far less taxing to stand around with signs and protest. It's even far less taxing to get on the internet and whine. Far less taxing even than that is just sitting around getting stoned. But, having an opinion, voicing it, and getting stoned are not the equivalent of medical and scientific research. Sorry. For all the faults of Federal government, at least they are still trusting in sober medical and scientific analysis. Even, yes, even during the Obama administration. Gee, I wonder if a Romney or Santorum administration would be more weed friendly? Bwaahahahahaahahahaha!1 point

FACILITIES Now that we have Apogee completed; what are the next priorities as far as facility construction and renovations? Do you envision the baseball stadium being on (behind Softball Outfield) or off campus? Timeline for this? CONFERENCE SITUATION Several years ago, you had mentioned that the possibility of a regional/local conference was enticing to you for a number of reasons. With all of the shuffling taking place, do you forsee the possibility of a regional/local conference forming in the next few years? If so, could this be more desirable than the CUSA/MWC Merger? With the way North Texas Athletics have improved in so many ways under your watch, and the direction things are headed; could you forsee the possibility of a larger conference coming after us? Like the Big XII potentially at some point?1 point

If UTSA and Tx St are included in new membership, I vote for the Sunland Conference.1 point

I think there are 3 burning questions for a bunch of us on here: 1. How are talks with C-USA/MWC/Alliance conference leaders going? 2. How close are we to adding baseball? 3. Are you striving to add another home game next year, or is the 2012 schedule set? Then there are 3 others: 1. Has Benson aproached you on your opinions of TX St./UTSA/LA. Tech? 2. Are you looking at real estate around Hattiesburg, MS? 3. When are we going to get the University to update the Super Pit?1 point

Sat with Forte Sr this past weekend at the new Lewisville HS arena (prior to UNT Football) Mr Forte felt that young Phil will be givin an opportunity early to fill the role of Keaton Page. OSU's coaching staff really likes the smallish sharp shooters. By the way, Marcus went down by 13 to a more talented Grace Prep. (Arlington) AGP rolls out a college ready lineup of Jr. Jordan Mickey (6-7) transfer from Richardson Berkner, Karviar Shephard, 6-9 transfer from DeSoto (Jr) 7-0 Isiah Austin, Baylor commit (#2 ranked in TX), 6-4 Soph Emanuel Mudiaye (#1 ranked) & Jelon Hornbeke, 6-2 UNT prospect. (over rated in my opinion)1 point
