Fall 2013 will be 100 Years of North Texas Football (1913 - TCU 13 NT 0). Do we have any special acitivites planned for the 2013 season? This is a major milestone for our University's football program, we need to embrace it.5 points

Why are we re-naming the Belt? Are we trying to trick people into thinking it's some hot new thing that doesn't suck?4 points

What has RV been told or think we need to spend money on to improve our conference upgrade chances? Does he think adding another sport helps us, or should we focus on the sports we do have? When can we upgrade the Super Pit? Will we have 6 home games next year? Do they plan on continuing the events they started last year like the Coaches caravan?4 points

I think it would be a mistake to rename the Sun Belt, because that would just convey a lack of self-confidence in the product we're putting out there. It's like how UNT has changed its uniforms every couple years, which never let us develop a traditional look. I cringed when I saw how much the Dodge-era uniforms looked like Southlake Carroll.3 points

Sounds great to me. 2013 is the 100th anniversary of the establishment of our football program....just not the 100th edition of the program.3 points
-
1913 was the year that North Texas began playing football. However, North Texas did not field a team in 43,44 & 45 because of WWII. So we will not field our 100th football team until 2016.3 points

1. how early can i start tailgating at apogee for the spring game? 2. will the new hotel/convention center ruin my usual tailgating spot in the grass by the east side of the red/blue parking lot?3 points

Are we going to get some good OCC games at apogee for 2012...something that merits spendings several hundred bucks to travel to Denton and see the game? When are we going to do something about the sorry state of the MGPremium (laughing) service on the UNT athletic site...its been crap for years...video sucks, hard to sign on and modify or cancel service. Any word on a Hotel at Apogee for us traveling to Denton for games?....is it going to happen?3 points

I think there are 3 burning questions for a bunch of us on here: 1. How are talks with C-USA/MWC/Alliance conference leaders going? 2. How close are we to adding baseball? 3. Are you striving to add another home game next year, or is the 2012 schedule set? Then there are 3 others: 1. Has Benson aproached you on your opinions of TX St./UTSA/LA. Tech? 2. Are you looking at real estate around Hattiesburg, MS? 3. When are we going to get the University to update the Super Pit?3 points

How 'bout we just stick with Sunbelt? New names don't change what's wrong with something. Lots of people associate UNT with a loser of a program that will never be much of anything. Should we change the name (again) or just work hard at changing the perception?2 points

It's like trying to rename the pickle. What's the point? In the end it's still going to be just a pickle.2 points

Conference, home schedule, super pit upgrade & baseball Also, MTSU , Denver & FAU BB teams have all got to play overseas or in Canada the past few summers. It really helped all those programs. Is there any chance we could see UNT get an opprotunity like that ?2 points

You need to think about the competitive balance of the markets though. Nothing to do in San Marcos on a Saturday where as here in the Metroplex, there is sooo much happening. Just pointing this out. And I swear to God dude the "UNT barely drew more than TxState while in a new stadium" bit has been way overplayed by you. You've mentioned it at least 5 times on this board. We get it. You are jealous.2 points

Why don't you make a good parking lot in front of Apogee stadium? so we can tailgate as well as we have a good parking. I think this will encourage more people to come to the games. Also, it is going to look very nice to the people who come visit Apogee and for people who pass by I-35.2 points

Harry My questions for RV are as follows: 1) Can you address from your perspective where you see North Texas in terms of a conference whether in the Sunbelt or CUSA/MWC/Aliance in 2012 or 2013? 2) Now that we have a stadium what is the status of adding a baseball team? 3) As the AD what are your short term and long term goals for North Texas athletics? 4) What is the health status of coach Mac? Thanks2 points

nobody can outcoach marlin. i know because all of the ulala fans said so last year on the sun belt board. listening to them i expected the second coming of john wooden wearing a bobby knight strap-on raping opposing teams. yet he almost appeared to be a normal person in diddle arena this year. wonder how that ulm beatdown is sittin' with the cajun faithful? in lafayette? yikes.2 points

Rick, I know your opinion on this, and I heartily disagree with you, but you must reconsider the addition of the new stylized Eagle on the football helmets. Yes, the "NORTH TEXAS" block lettering identifies who we are, but it really is "mickey mouse".2 points

Utsa is better all around.. . tv, facility ( sell beer at the stadium), and attendance. If I had to choose between the twins it is a no brainer, but of course UNT is heads and shoulders above them both2 points

Perhaps the problem is that people dont THINK it will affect them to the point it does. I know what legalization proponents want to keep saying. But perhaps you should rely on what those of us who deal with drugs see at work. Just a thought...2 points

We have never had a president more disrespected than Barack Obama. From day one, many folks have been running scared at the thought that they will lose whatever rights they have enjoyed their whole life. Republican (and Tea Party) candidates use this fear to their advantage by continuing to lie and distort the truth. This guy is not one of us; he's not American, not Christian, hangs around terrorists, he's a socialist etc. I remain shocked that so many continue to embrace this type of bigotry. Despite it all, Mr. Obama remains the consummate professional and adult with these attacks. What has he done? How about keeping this country out of a depression. Saving the US auto industry. Bringing our troops home from a lie, killing the top terrorists, bringing the stock market back, creating jobs month after month, restoring the US imagine around the world Instead of constantly berating the guy and believing all the lies out there because of the color of his skin, we need to thank the guy for bringing us back from the mess of the prior 8 years. Imagine where we would be if the Republicans would try to work with him rather than obstruct everything the man is trying to do; for all of us. Fortunately, the majority of American have not fallen prey to this garbage. Polls have him rising because of the lack of an alternative from the Republican. (or policies) It would be a waste of resources and foolish for Obama to target African American only; when he received 92-95% of their vote. We have never had a president to inherit as many problems upon taking office. Despite the concerted effort of the republican to just sit on the sidelines and hope the economy fails; this president has been the right guy at the right time. Lord knows this may have killed McCain and Sara Palin would have just quit. Keep up the great work Mr. Commander in Chief Sir! Like Tony Mitchell, give us more years. Here's my vote for eliminating forums like this that take away from my day to day escape from the work place and politics. Hell, If I wanted to get pissed off, I can always watch Fox News.1 point

UTA will hurt UNT before TCU. Going dancing in another week, In a better perceived conference (than currently) and plays in the best arena in the Metroplex. Had close to 5k last night against Nichols St (I think). Opened up with about 7. We can continue to dismiss them all we want but they can recruit using their 30 point ass whipping against us while still on the stage. Our success has been on attracting local high major kids back to the area. OSU's Roger Dowell is a recent example of what the new arena will continue to do for them.1 point
