  1. Well there is plenty of love to go around for this one – 27 turnovers- sloppy play from all players and a poor coaching job – I think that pretty much covers the water front for this disaster.

  3. Upon entering the game he normally dribbles the ball off his foot or right out of bounds as soon as he touches it.

  5. Maybe if we subbed our starters in the 2nd half when they were tired & turning the ball over while letting FAU get back into the game..... So pissed

  10. I agree. I like the Sun Belt, but C-USA would be better for us, and these rumors of Benson being the next commissioner really bother me. I hope North Texas won't have to be around if that comes to pass.

  12. Fact is NT doesn't have much of a bench. Much of that 19 point lead loss was in the time the subs were in. They were tired but didn't play smart with the big edge, sounded like a lot of careless ball handling. A big positive was Holmen, if he can continue to play well; it will be a big lift to the team. These guys are going to have to play big minutes because there is little depth, so I guess that might as well get used to it. The tournament is going to be brutal. By the way, J. Williams and Jones have been gone a long time; blaming them at this point is pointless as well IMO as being counter-productive.

  13. No doubt we could have used them. But, we still have other guys on the bench that could have stepped in a stopped something. I have to say, there was some questionable subbing down the stretch while up by 19.. but hindsight is 20/20.

  21. Hopefully after this weekend's Alliance meeting we can all move on from every bit of this--and for UNT to move on to a separate CUSA consortium of schools. GMG!

  24. Yes, incredible numbers, but to play the anti-TM's advocate, those NINE Turnovers are pretty ugly on the stat sheet. The Norris four (in 9 minutes), and the Walton seven didn't help much either. By looking at the stats, the turnover situation kinda tells the story. I did listen to almost all of the game, and I guess there should be some coaching question marks as well. On a positive note, great to see Holmen hitting those mid-range jumpers. We are going to need that kind of a performance along with some inside defense from him in Hot Springs and beyond.

  28. Talk about taking someone for granted. Mitchell just had 22 points 20 rebounds and 6 blocks, one of the greatest statistical games in NT history and no one has even mentioned it.

  29. CJ and Jordan would make this team better, but that's a whole lotta pointless coulda-shoulda-woulda. We've had several weeks to gel with the new lineup, and it's not like they were a last minute loss that JJ couldn't gameplan around. some of ya'll just like crying over spilled milk. There are other things in this game that had me pulling hairs and pointing fingers; CJ and Jordan are not any of them.

  31. You mean lack there of ? How many minutes did anyone on the bench have in the 2nd half / OT.

  32. We've actually played decently enough since they were kicked off truth be told. Not playing the bench more is really something I can't get over here. I really have no clue what JJ was thinking.

  34. Oh good grief. This rodrod5 I think is our old friend with an axe to grind against UNT that has formerly gone by Checkfacts and TodgeRodge. This guy has serious issues and is trashing us over on the WAC board as well.

  35. I can't understand the emphasis on recent football success. How short sighted can one be? Because a team has been good for 2 years they want to invite them to their conference permanently? What kind of logic is that? Have they forgotten they were one of the worst teams in college football for years prior to 2010? They are terrible at basketball. Their facilities are not good. They have no fan base whatsoever. It just makes no sense to me.

  36. What gives FIU such an edge over FAU? Is it because FAU is not quite officially in Miami, even though they're in the same metro area? Except for the VERY recent state of their football programs, I've always looked at them as interchangeable twins, with a slight edge to FAU beause of their new stadium and Schnellenberger's brief success. Isaiah sure hasn't magically built a basketball powerhouse as FIU had hoped. Go figure.

  40. I don't want to be in the CUSA anymore. The Sun Belt is getting quite strong. Tony Mitchell has given the conference national recognition, MTSU and Denver are turning heads as well in basketball, we look to be a MAJOR force next year. Arkansas State is getting scary good, WKU moving up, UNT also moving up with our beautiful new stadium, FIU/FAU, etc. The Sun Belt has more to offer than CUSA, except for regional opponents. We should raid WAC and grab some of these teams and stick with the Belt.

  41. Typical. They aren't forced to share them. The employee makes a choice to be employed at that Islamic hospital. If an Islamic hospital wants to require their female employees to wear hijabs, and they think they can be prosperous in a hospital environment requiring the hijabs, more power to them. If Jehova Witnesses think they can successfully operate a hospital without giving blood transfusions, have at it. Thats what is caled the free market, even for religions that choose to branch out into medical services. Who knows, maybe the Catholic Church's refusal to provide contraceptives to employees would cost them enough valuable employees that they would eventually make the decision on their own to change the policy. BUT THAT WOULD BE THEIR DECISION, NOT SOMETHING IMPOSED ON THEM BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. Amazing. Tip of the Iceberg when government starts trying to mandate things it has no business mandating.

  42. You know maybe you are right – the Super Pit is soon to be 40 years old and we are still averaging 3,500 fans per game - just about the same number that we averaged in the old snake pit – in the last 11 years we have never won an NCAA playoff game - winning 20 games per year against powder puff schedules is not doing it – May be we should renovate the old men’s gym so we can have a full house

  43. Just a question here. What would you think if there was a hospital associated with the islamic faith, and at this hospital they forced all the women that worked there or were treated there to wear head covers, or what if a church was run by the Jehovas wintness' and they refused to offer blood transfusions? Then what if the government stepped in and said that these places aren't allowed to make those rules. Would there be this uproar about religious freedom then? Just curious. I think that as soon as these religious entities go out into the world and start employing people that are non church personnel, then they have to offer the same type of insurance that everyone else does. Not everyone that works in a catholic hospital is a catholic, why should someone who doesn't share those religious beliefs be forced to share them?
