A-State is in the bonus 9 1/2 minutes into the 2nd half and the double bonus with what 6 or 7 minutes left? We didnt get into the bonus until 6 minutes left in the game. We have 2 fouls called on us the last minute of the game, there wasn't a foul called on A-State the last 5 minutes and 13 seconds of the game. Am i looking too much into it or did we get hit by a little home cooking?3 points

Attendance will come with more wins, just because a team travels well doesnt mean its a good schedule... Its all about wins, you need 6 to get in but more the better... With the Belt getting better as we speak, the conference games wont be as easy as they use too. I would rather take a W with 20k in the stands than a L with it sold out. If you dont make it in a bowl game youre moving backwards not forward. Once we start making it into bowl games then we can start talking about scheduling with AQ programs.. We should stick with the Mac, Wac and one FCS team for OOC games2 points

I've replayed that at least 100 times. The ball was still in his hands at the 0.0 mark. He's dribbling at the 0.4 mark. You can't tell me he can pick up his dribble and launch a shot over his head in .4 seconds.2 points

we need to book home & home series regardless. Everyone would agree on paying more to have at LEAST 6 homes, if not more every year. Sign up schools that will get the biggest attendance for Appogee.(Say NO to FCS) I would suggest seeing some of the lower tier schools from the big conferences like we did this year with Indiana. When SMU was invited into the WAC and then CUSA, it had 78 years of affiliation to the Southwest Conference burnishing its credentials. It also had TCU, Rice and Houston in its corner because of their past conference relationships and geographic proximity. UNT, for many sad reasons, has none of that. So we're required to prove more if we want to move up. We proved we could get a stadium built. Now we must prove we can fill it in the Belt.1 point

Yeah. Not a chance he got that off. Good thing the refs took a good hard look at it. Those effers should be fired.1 point

It's blurry video, but lots of body contact against Jones on the "block" of the floater. I'm sure they called that earlier in the game... at least against us.1 point

here is what jay walker, the ulala radio guy said about waters' statement. 'this probably happens more than we realize' mmmmmm......NO i was listening to fox sports radio last night and they're still talking about this. and were dogging the sun belt jabba the hutt. has that fat tub of goo ever watched hoops? i've watched hoops my whole life and never seen it happen. i think the dummy just thought western was crying about something again and was his normal flippant self. thank god he's leaving.1 point

Here's my take on the FCS thing. Every year I've been here, the first game of the season has always been really well attended. Curious new students, alumni happy for football season to start, eternal hope. Then every year we get it handed to us at the first game and the curious go back into hibernation. Beating up on Texas Southern certainly doesn't help out with whatever the football equivalent of RPI is, but it showcases a victory for the people who are coming out to see the team for the first time. Also, after the team gets used as a turf mop by LSU, it wouldn't hurt to have a less physically taxing game to recover. I've always wondered what long-term physical effects it has on the team to get utterly manhandled by the big boys. I imagine a good number of them are still pretty beat up by the time they get to conference play.1 point

Agree. We shouldn't rely on other teams to fill up Apogee. If we can't do it ourselves then maybe we didn't need a new stadium.1 point

ken mcdonald is one of the worst train-wrecks i've witnessed as a long time basketball fan. worse than one of those old black and white movies where 2 trains hit each other head on. and pop up in the air. and leave coal scattered everywhere. i understand why they kept him even if i disagreed with it. our pres. and a.d. were enamored with this recruiting class and wanted them on campus. they then restructured mcdummy's contract...taking 100k off and making the payoff over 4 years instead of immediate. this helps him because he has poor impulse control. if he received it all at once i could picture him in a future tyrone biggums scenario where he tells a class of children....'that boys and girls was the first time i blanked a blank for crack. lots o' speculation over what the crowd would be yesterday. i figured 3500-4000. i know bowling green and we have front runner fans. i was ecstatic with 5200. and they were into the game. our players are still who i thought they were. too slow to check anyone off the dribble. too poor of shooters to hurt you from 3 land. but they played a lot harder for ray harper. ray knows a little bit about hoops. i honestly believe he'll have us playing well by sun belt tourney time. before the game l. brenneman (asst coach) was on the radio and was asked if we'd use zone some. he replied that we had not worked on any zone at all. that's how staggering mcdummy's wreck was. because we all know a zone is how you stop a good outside shooting team. actually, i don't believe that but you need a zone in your arsenal. you guys and denver should drill us. we lost by 20 to fiu. lost to ulala and troy at home. but ray said friday he had 57 days to get ready for the sun belt tourney. he can't make us quicker or taller in that time but he can make us a tougher out. p.s. how idiotic did waters come across in his 6 on 5 statement?1 point

I think Dominique Green, TT and Josh were doing these for years against every one else. If that means we have to take one on the wrong end once or twice every 4 years with such a young squad, then I'll suck it up. I choose to hope these guys will learn and toughen up from it.1 point

I'm not buying Temple & FIU. 1. No other media outlet has picked up the story. A few blogs have linked to the original article, but no one else is confirming, including the Philly & Miami press. 2. It doesn't make sense the merger as it stands is 17 football teams, 16 all sports. 19 football teams doesn't make sense. I'm not buying Utah State or San Jose State (or as they are known, San Hose State) 1. The MWC had their shot to add USU & SJSU and passed. Rumor was they liked USU, but didn't want SJSU for the 12. And the truth was they didn't need those team. 2. The "western" merger options don't bring a media market. The merger is about increasing conference profile, not just assembling everyone who's left out of the BCS. 3. Neither of these schools are going to boost the conference's strength of schedule or general perception. 4. If they are going with two 9 team divisions it makes more sense to move UTEP to the western division that elevate a competitor in the west. 5. I don't think the merger wants to kill the WAC. The merged league would consist of: East Carolina, Marshall, Memphis, Rice, Southern Miss, Tulane, Tulsa, UAB and UTEP from C-USA and Air Force, Colorado State, New Mexico, UNLV and Wyoming from the Mountain West along with new members Fresno State, Hawaii and Nevada. I think it makes more sense to go to an all sports league, move UTEP to the west, and add either UNT or LA Tech.1 point

For those, like me, who just listened to it. When a shot like that goes in, I guess it just isn't your night.1 point

Agree with that in general, but alot of those points can be attributed to the goal tends. Also many of the fouls were called on perimeter.1 point

Too much talent on this team to lose to ASU. It is a wonder any big man would come to the Belt, the way most of the games are called. No way to guard anyone without fouling.1 point

Those announcers seemed a little pro SMU earlier. If they go to pick up their money on the nightstand, they need to check the closet first, or they may become numbers 6 and 7. #rememberthefive1 point

Check the timestamp brah, that prediction was made an hour before the caucus began. And every political pundit revises their predictions until the last minute because things change on a whim. Between now and Tuesday Newt Gingrich could skinny dip in the Hudson River, and Rick Perry could cure cancer. You just never know man.1 point

I have a couple of points of disagreement before I start liking your thoughts about the program. First, I can't believe that Utah State should be a consideration unless the MWC goes to twelve teams. Over the last ten years their record has been worse than ours. Their all-time average of five lists is 92. By comparison we are 82 and San Jose State is 86. We have more than 2/3 of the FBS student population of a market that is more than 2-1/2 times larger than the Salt Lake City market. On the other hand, Utah State is about 1/6 of the SLC FBS student population. Utah State's attendance has been more abysmal than ours. Their stadium only seats 25,500. Their seven wins this past year was their first time since '93. They have good academics and basketball and few other selling points. Cap that with the fact that if the MWC really wanted them they could already have done so. The most disturbing statement, however, is in bold above. Where are you getting your information? Only the conference office and the institutions themselves can be reliable sources of expansion information. Most others are probably less valid than yours. A sports writer is usually opinionated and a poor source for trustworthy facts regarding expansion. A blogger is even worse. I firmly believe that Lane Rawlins is the best promoter that we could possibly have. I think that the seeds have been planted and will bear fruit. I trust the team that will present our case and we will not have adversaries, facilities and an unsupportive administration dragging us down this time. Plus we have a stadium to pay for so we need a conference where teams are better known to our students and alumni for an easier sell. This is strictly my opinion. I've done hours of number-crunching and those results put us in the lead in more categories than any other contender except one. We have another advantage in location (we could go to either conference if separated or be in the center if combined). Also, remember it's not over until the Big XII, the Big East, the Mountain West and Conference USA determine the size of their conferences. Even then, the ACC and the SEC may cause other ripples.0 points

I'm still rooting for East vs. West. We'll need all the help we can get to win the West. I know it's better for RPI if the West wins, but I'd rather have the banner and be a #16 seed (vs. finish 2nd in West and get #15 seed). Next year, maybe I'll go back to rooting for the East. CMJ and Tasty can take dock me on my fan rooting report card. D is for Diploma.0 points

Just wondering... What about a really large set of white hanging boards to shine a high powered set of projectors onto? Doable?? Is there a super Powerful Chuck Norris projector that can project bright/ far enough for a 20' by 10' area above the pit (x4 sides of course)-1 points
