People are excited that TM just might be coming around. Dig up past threads, some of us have already said CJ may be the greatest UNT player ever when all is said and done7 points

For Dr. Seuss: I do not like this thread, not one little bit In fact, I wish I could just make it q-u-i-t But, since I cannot do that in any way I would like to celebrate Tony Mitchell's unbelievable day I do so like Tony Mitchell but I also like Chris Jones, I do tell So please don't start any more dumb threads Because it makes all of our brains hurt in our heads4 points

This thread is the logical next step when you spend years of time entertaining uniform talk. You know all those fears/arguments made about how gay weddings would decay the institution of marriage? Well, replace gay weddings with uniform talk and marriage with a football message board and you'll see exactly how this corruption works above. Don't argue - it's science.4 points

Well maybe because it was kind of a big deal. According to Mean Green Sports on Facebook it was the 3rd best scoring/rebounding game in school history and the best combined scoring/rebounding game in college basketball this year.4 points

You may be a tad young, but that does not excuse the foul language on a public board. You could have made your point in a so much more professional way....4 points

...and from that point on, Kram1 never refereed another children's soccer game, and simply became a spectator instead. Rick4 points

34 points is great and all but HE MISSED SEVERAL OF HIS FREE THROWS!!! If you can't even hit your free throws then you're just not a great basketball player. Sorry, it's true. Karen Aston would have made sure he practiced from the charity stripe. When will JJ learn that "hip hop" basketball isn't gonna cut it?? I'm transfere tired of listening to our games and hearing that we can't even handle the fundamentals!!!3 points

Multiple people throughout the season have pointed out that CJ is, without a doubt, the player/story of the year for NT so far. If you haven't read that, you're not following along with the conversations very closely. Besides...who cares? Let people imagine what greatness there can be down the line with Tony and CJ playing at their best together. No need to be a killjoy. This isn't the football board where something HAS to suck all the time for posters to be content.3 points

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this was probably the most efficient 30 point game in the entire country this season. 34 points on 14 shots is absurd. Then you tack on the rebounds and all the shots he altered(surprised there were no blocks, because Jub was constantly calling his name out). Masterful performance to say the least. Go Mean Green!3 points

No worries. I popped a quad bar after I read what CBS Eye on Basketball said about us. As long as this thread is at the bottom of the page by tomorrow I'll be fine.2 points

I don't understand the point of this initial post, but these kind of threads show up on the Baylor and Texas boards too. Is everyone supposed to be talking about how great everyone else is? That tonys effort wasn't all that great? Enlighten us to the appropriate response to last nights game...2 points

Of Note: We got out-rebounded in this one (rare) 43-41 and somehow manage to outscore USA 40-24 in the paint.2 points

I just don't see anything moving until the Big XII is finalizes who they want in their conference.2 points
-
I tend to agree, but then I think about how long that takes and how quickly things move in college athletics and it just gets harder and harder to see a time in the future where we are playing a conference game against anyone outside of the SBC and how little those games draw in attendance. I tried to get 4 or 5 friends and family to go with me to the Western Kentucky game earlier this year. All said no because they had no interest in spending time and money to go watch us play the Hilltoppers. When we played Houston and Indiana, it was a different story.2 points

How dare he downplay our national profile in a national column by praising us. WHAT A DOUCHE!2 points

Yes -- the coaches and players figuring out how to get the ball to Tony consistently is the biggest missing piece of the puzzle. He stays engaged, doesn't take silly fouls and doesn't come back to the bench with that sad, hangdog expression that makes me want to pat his future millionaire head. If we figure this out, the outside shooting will be the next thing to improve.2 points

I don't think anyone is overlooking, or underlooking as you state, anyone on this team, but a performance like Tony Mitchell had last night deserves a little applause. Are you that worried that we are going to overlook Chris Jones, Alzee, or someone else?2 points

They were in man defense . I don't see how WKU coaches didn't see that till the end. Just proves what we all already knew , sunbelt refs suck2 points

Just a few days after New Year's Day. Tony showed a lot of Mean Green pride in God's Country. Tony truly is the one.2 points

Middle's ladies survive OT scare vs Troy, 72-66. Lady MUTS are beatable. We can take em. Rick2 points

I think both parties have been becoming more "pure" since the late 90's. That is the whole effing problem, neither side is willing to compromise. At all. If anyone does they are accused of being a RINO or a DINO. It's pathetic.2 points

Mingo and Brown are 2-15 combined...team is 3-21. FAU is only shooting 30% from the floor. This looks, on paper, like the worst division I basketball game ever.2 points

Typical Sunbelt officiated game... ticky tack calls all over the place... not even the USA announcer knows who got called for what at times... Why does the SBC embrace this style of refs?1 point

Does this mean we will need a Band recruiting section of the board? Do we need to start tracking Tuba player's 40 times? awesome.1 point

When I lived in Frisco, there was a really serious five-year-old team wearing tiny little licensed Longhorn uniforms. I think they could use a "football plan." And hey, it's never too early to start raising good fathers and husbands.1 point

Any time I hear people bring up the constitution and the role of government I generally just dismiss them as absolutists. I mean when the Constitution was written having an anti-slavery view was seen as liberal or even extremist. In 1910 it was "progressive" to want women's suffrage. To try and identify where the framers and politicians of that era fit on a modern day political scale would just be impractical.1 point
