Has he already made his visit to North Texas? Can we have him back for a second visit? Just askin'........2 points

That down-syndrome kid who won an ESPY a few years back wasn't afraid, either...he probably even had a better stroke...doesn't mean I want him playing D-1 ball.2 points

Jordan Williams is our third best player...for him not to start would be a travesty. He's a freshman learning the college game but he won't learn from sitting on the bench. He ranges from second to fourth in almost every category. He wasn't billed as a three point shooter but that will come with practice and game experience. Even now, he's tied for the lead in 3s with 42 points. Also, where would this team be if not for Jordan Williams? I view him as being responsible for getting Chris Jones and to a lesser extent Tony Mitchell. When he committed he didn't just leave it at that he went out and tried to recruit others to NT. I think we owe it to him to give him a chance as long as he's not a detriment to this team. If you'll look at the team statistics that's certainly not the case. Williams still makes freshman mistakes but he'll continue to improve. Roger Franklin is used to coming off of the bench and providing a spark as the sixth man. He's good at it and is more beneficial in that role, given our level of talent, than he would be if he started. He still gets his minutes.2 points

You're worse then Vito! Just kidding Harry. Great write up, really shows how much recruiting affects your program for years to come.2 points

Rivals shows him with offers from Baylor and Texas Tech, and ESPN had him rated as the #93 overall player in the country in 2010.2 points

I don't like this one bit. From Facebook creeping a few weeks ago it appears he takes the classroom seriously as well, another piece of bait Tulane will use if true.1 point

Man, this stinks. But, that's the way it goes in recruiting, players get stolen all the time once a couple players fall through for schools who seem to be higher on the totem pole than us. I just hope with another scholarship free we sign another DB or DT, O Line is already starting to look stacked for the future.1 point

06-07 Lakers? UCLA, circa 1975? Seriously, what the hell have you been watching?1 point

Some things I'd like to see. Jordan Williams not shoot another three unless were up double digits.Jacob Holmen not shoot another three unless we're playing an exhibition gameMore of the Trey Norris at point and Chris at the 2.More of Niko in situations where the other team doesn't have a low post threat, like UNO.Alzee shoot more, from three especially.Brandon Walton get more towel waving time, and less playing time (sorry man)1 point

Who is it going to spike for SD State? Boise State? Maybe and then after the 40+ point loss then what? Houston and UCF have been in the same conference with them and nobody comes, so just because it is in a difference conference all of the sudden people are going to show up? Is a game against Rutgers going to generate more excitement than a game against Tulsa or USM? I just don't see it I guess.1 point

Is that sarcasm? You're aware JJ isn"t allowed to run on the court and score points himself, right?1 point

While I wish Chase was a sure thing commit with us I can't say I'm disgruntled about that. I think it is a two way street as it goes both ways. Coaches can come in and deny scholarships and offers to athletes not to mention they can also leave a program for greener pastures without any hesitation and regard for the players. I just believe every party in this thing is looking out for their best interest and Chase is doing the same. I hope he stays with his commitment and comes to UNT but if he decides to go to SMU then more power to him and good luck. You win some you lose some.1 point
-
SMU's program is way above NT's right now, that is a fact. Frankly, I don't have a lot of use for players who go back on their commits but it happens to every school. I can see it when there is a coaching change but in this case, Walling is one of SMU's second tier recruits that a position came open for. I would guess McCarney's appeal is much greater than Mr. Hawaii's, but a Belt school is going to lose most of these contests.1 point
-
I will wait and see. I just don't see SMU getting some big attendance push when Connecticut comes to Dallas to play football. SMU will still have about 10,000 local fans and who is UConn going to bring? The Big East may be a BcS conference, but they are doing all they can to hang on. It will probably survive on basketball alone, but the Big East doesn't bring anything to the BcS Football table. I just think the young man will be true to his word, unlike the SMU Coach, and will honor his commitment to us. Maybe I'm showing my age, but it would be nice to see someone stand by their word and put in the effort to build something that will become bigger than SMU in the long run.1 point

Going over the season numbers on MeanGreenBall, I do think we have the right starting five on the floor now. Even with Hogans limited offensive skills (making me contemplate starting Franklin), he's out best rebounder not named Tony Mitchell. And we all know his shot blocking prowess.1 point

Can't wait for this redemption game. The title game felt like a brutal breakup full of anger and sadness. So much so that we drove home that night. I hope we royally kick their ass.1 point
-
He hasn't gone anywhere yet, but he may look at our depth chart and decide to go. I hope he sticks, but find it funny that SMUt is trying to steal our recruits. I guess if he wants to sign with a school whose coach is looking elsewhere and will play in a far off conference, then more power to him. My gut says he honors his word and stays.1 point

Yeah I'm sure you didn't have any clear agenda posting those links. Those radicals are the exceptions...they're not the norm or the rule.1 point

It's likely other SEC schools knew of the Feldt's relationship with UA coaches and didn't waste their time recruiting him.1 point

The Islamic extremist are typical of most vocal minorities of any group. They are so loud, that many think that is how the rest of that group thinks. That is why many Americans think that most, if not all Muslims are Islamic extremists. I think that is pure crap. Athletes of all races invoke God, but it is how they carry themselves which dictate whether or not people people belive them. I would be quicker to believe Robert Griffin or Tim Tebow are Christians faster than Mike Vick or Matt Jones.1 point

Great thread, Harry. The stat I heard the other day about Lemon is the most impressive stat I've heard in quid a while. Zero penalties the whole year as a starting true freshman. Pretty amazing. If he carries that discipline over to off season workout and improvement, look out Sun Belt next year. I also like the fact that Coach Mac was able to redshirt half the freshman class (someone tell Vito that there WAS some talent left over from the Dodge days). I would love to see this remain as a pattern during Coach Mac's tenure. Next year should be very interesting.1 point

Front page of the Star Telegram this morning. VATICAN CITY — Pope Benedict XVI issued pleas for peace to reign across the world during his traditional Christmas address Sunday, a call marred by Muslim extremists who bombed a Catholic church in Nigeria, striking after worshippers celebrated Mass The assault on the Catholic church left 35 dead in Madalla, near the Nigerian capital. A failed bombing also occurred near a church in the city of Jos, followed by a shooting that killed a police officer. The blast came a year after a series of Christmas Eve bombs in Jos claimed by Islamist militants killed 32. Rick1 point

Recognizing someone as a prophet does not equal recognizing someone as Deity. Muslims do not recognize Jesus Christ as Deity (they firmly disavow it), Christians do, therefore the two groups do not worship the same God.1 point

I just noticed the Big 12 is the only AQ conference that doesn't play a mid-major in a bowl game. ACC and PAC-12 play 2 bowls against mid majors and th Big Ten, Big East, and SEC all play one bowl game against the little guys.0 points

Actually, most schools and players stay with their commits, if they didn't there would not be any use of going through the process. Seldom, does a coach not honor a commit. It is more common with players particularly with recruits who commit then later get what they perceive as a better opportunity. Obviously, recruiting is a dog eat dog process, it may be just me but people even eighteen year-olds should honor their word. I am also aware that NT as much as anyone else goes after other school's commits. As for as being disgruntled, I am not sure why anyone should take recruiting too seriously. Chase may turn out to be a difference maker or he may not be a factor at either school. NT will lose some and gain some, on a net basis it will take years to determine if they gain or lost and at that point no one will care.0 points

No, like Oregon State, New Mexico State, SMU, Alabama and nearly beating Texas the other night without two key players, is kinda like what I had in mind. And regardless if it's a tough stretch or not without them, we won't hear it mentioned as an excuse from this team should we come up short on the scoreboard. Rick0 points

Her and Braylah are out for another week. But the best thing is knowing that with or without them, K Sue will get her team to play above their abilities and overcome whatever UALR throws at them. Rick0 points

(For those who want to skip through the five pages- here is a summary.) SMU fan- My penis is ten inches. UNT fan- Just because your parent's genes gave you a ten inch penis does not make you better. I worked hard to get my eight inch penis and measure it accurately, your ten inch is actually seven inches.-1 points

If UT continues down the current path, I can see the 2014 UT game being competitive. Please let Mac (I do less with more) Brown hang around that long.-1 points
-
I really hope so. Brown does have a national title, but the fact that he is going the JUCO route (even if they are really good Jucos) shows a little panick on Brown's part. He is only as good as his assistants, and 7-5 ain't gonna cut it in Austin very much longer. Here is to hoping those 5-7 and 7-5 seasons continue.-1 points

I'm not trying to "bring down" a player, but I'm telling you folks, I would be highly surprised if Cam ever starts a game here. Cam only had one offer, and that was from Arkansas who's recruiting coordinater at the time was his dad's best friend. I think people are expecting a dominant player since he came from an SEC program, but that was in fact his only FBS offer due to the relationship his dad had at the time. Cam doesn't have the footwork or motor Boone has. Again, I would love to see the kid succeed, but I expect Boone to be a lot better before all is said and done. And I think it would be wise to let the mean green faithful know now, instead of everyone expecting him to be an immediate improvement over Matt Tomlinson at RT next season. It wouldn't surprise me to see a FR come in and take the RT spot. Who knows who will be starting their next season, it could be Micah Thompson, LaChris Anyiam, Grant Shaw, Chase Walling, or Sam Rice. The good thing about all these players is they have legit FBS size and then some. OL should be a bright spot for the next 3 or 4 years with Johnson, Y'Barbo and Lemon here for 3 more years plus the incoming recruits.-1 points

ECU submitted paperwork to join Big East as soon as ink was dry on Pitt and Syracuse being accepted by ACC, so i don't think this means much at this time. i'm sure Utah State also has done the same with MWC. the proposed CUSA/MWC merger now depends on whether or not MWC gets AQ status. i assume they will know before merger meeting scheduled for 1/15/12.if MWC get BCS status, merger is off, and they will have 8 football schools. i don't know what their goal is;9,10,or 12, so UTEP could still be in the mix. i hope AQ for MWC aproved and UTEP moves west.-1 points
-
Even if San Jose is the 18th team in the merger (which I doubt) this is still good news. It means the WAC is dead and the Sun Belt can LA Tech and UTSA to get to 12.-1 points

Your the one that mentioned the muslim faith here trying to parallel it with all the others. I simply posted the very next thing that was splattered on the front page of the paper the next day. I'm sure that religion has it's finer points. Unfortunately for the non violent followers, it's finer points isn't what it's well known for. Rick-1 points
