there's great coverage in the Denton Record Chronicle who Bret writes for. I'm guessing that Bret doesn't have control of what is put in the Dallas Paper.7 points

Good smack! BTW, found out the scoreboard will show quadruple digits. We hooked a DOT scale to it and weighed your mom last night.4 points

I can't believe tomorrow is tomorrow. It will be the greatest day of my college life and one of the finest days for the University of North Texas. I have been waiting for this day since I voted for the stadium my Freshman year, now that I am a Senior I could not be more enthused. Win or lose, blow out or close win everyone in that stadium will have a blast and be a fan for years. This is the beginning of something great. GMG and go class of 2012. sorry for this emotional rant, a night drinking on the square will do that to you.3 points

Agree, but I think it has a lot to do with Keenum and Co. FIU's defense looks dang good, so I hope after Saturday we have a lot more to chomp on regarding our offense. Get Dunbar in the open!3 points

This is how a big time program should look and feel. If we want outsiders to take us serious, we have to give them a reason. These pics are a testament to all the hard work that has been poured into this program. Good job Mean Green Nation. Pound a Cougar (take that how you want)2 points

My friends and I are looking to hopefully latch on with a tailgating group. 6 guys, all UNT alums, looking for someone who will have a TV going with the Bama-Penn St. game on. We won’t eat any food, we will donate to the cause, we will have a cooler with our own beer, and a cooler of Green Jell-O Shots (don’t judge) to share. Good group of guys, ready to celebrate this glorious occasion. Any invites or generosity of any kind will be greatly appreciated. GO MEAN GREEN!2 points

FIU's defense was impressive. UH's defense has a lot of new faces in only the second year of a new system and a DC with just as much college DC experience. Hopefully we did some growing up and growing together after last week.2 points

Look for the double decker school bus with flags. We may be at Fouts if we can't find parking on Apogee side. NT alums Always welcome. JRock2 points

Hopefully the students keep it up throughout the season. Good to hear our stadium will look like a big boy school tomorrow. Now we need it to sound like one. Rock the house.2 points

I am so frickin pumped about this news and the game tomorrow. Go Mean Green!2 points

Tell ya what. If it's defective and can't keep up with the score you guys can have it free. Put it somewhere near campus....then just build stands, concession areas, bathrooms, a field, a press box, club seats, and luxury boxes around it to have a decent stadium to hold your pompous asses in the fanbase.2 points

First, congratulations to North Texas students and Mean Green fans everywhere for selling out Apogee Stadium. But they didn't hear about it from KNTU Radio. Listening on the way home tonight (F) I paid special attention to the KNTU sports report. I even took notes so I'd be accurate. The stories in order: 1. Ohio State gymnastics coach arrested 2. NFL Packers vs. Saints 3. Jets vs. Cowboys 4. Jason Garrett used to play for the Giants 5. Jay Ratliff got new contract 6. Serena Williams had a tantrum 7. Somebody shot a NBA Grizzlies guard 8. NASCAR Now I was told to wait until Friday and that there would be lots of coverage of the NT-Houston game and the opening of Apogee Stadium. Zip, nada, nuthin'. I know the "K" is a FCC assigned letter, but what in the world does "NTU" stand for ? 'Cause it certainly isn't North Texas. GO MEAN GREEN1 point

They see TCU with their progress on the field and with their stadium. They see UNT with its new stadium and huge alumni base. They see SMU being knocked around by A&M, easily, after all summer they were talking about going into College Station and winning. They're in an uncomfortable place right now.1 point

Thanks! I think we may be parking on the Apogee side, one of the guys was able to get a pass for the grass lot by the softball field. If not, Ill look for you, we may change our minds and park at fouts. Still undecided. Appreciate it!1 point

Totally agree. Ponyfans poster says they want us to go back to FCS and are wishing us the worst for tom. Nonsense. Win or lose tomorrow, we are growing. If anything, they should be worried. JRock1 point

I'm not a lawyer but contracts are great and all but they can get broken and do get broken all the time. If I am not mistaken Texas A&M will pay their necessary exit fees the next couple of years to leave. Baylor gets its money through the Big 12 as a whole. The Aggies aren't collapsing the conference so to speak. And this isn't about just money...it's about long term future and Baylor knows they have very few places to go and a BCS conference is not very likely. But hey I don't really have a dog in this fight other than I see nothing wrong what the Aggies are doing and from my point of view Baylor is looking like the idiot.1 point

So this means that 8,000 UNT students actually walked over to the ticket office and got their tickets early? Is this a sign that student apathy is now dead at North Texas?1 point

Dear Benny, Back in 1975 at Texas Stadium, you guys didn't even use the single digit side of your scoreboard. If you didn't use what was provided you then, why should we get excited about some boastful talk now ? GO MEAN GREEN1 point

My fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon is putting on their second SigEp Supports the Troops during our tailgate for the game on Saturday. We will be accepting items to send care packages to troops overseas. Last year was a great success and this year should be no different. So while you're out picking up supplies for your tailgate pick up a few things to send our troops Our tailgate will be somewhere on The Hill. Shouldn't be too hard to find us.
