I just think it's funny how many people on this board complained about the Green Brigade during the season and how much a joke the Bleacher Report is, but now all of a sudden the Green Brigade is the greatest in the land and the Bleacher Report is a respectable sports news outlet. I respect the Green Brigade and they add a wonderful piece to everyone's game day experience, but I know when to stop the praise. Just like I love UNT and bleed green, but you're not going to hear me calling it the greatest school in America anytime soon.4 points

I trust neither. Then again I frisk my wife before I let her in the house. But that's just for cheap thrills.4 points

ATTENTION ATTENTION!!! Breaking News.... I've just got a committment from #81 JOHNNY QUINN. He's excited that he will be able to make it this year and is looking forward to seeing everyone and being apart of this worthy cause. He will by far be the best athlete on the field, as always! This makes that #1 pick pretty crucial now. He is an XL T-Shirt Scott3 points

First Class experience all the way!! One change from my original understanding is that the North Lot will not have assigned parking as originally planned. This was changed in order to get TXDOT approval for direct access off the service road into the North Lot and TXDOT believes assigned parking would cause backups onto the service road. So for the North Lot, "the early bird gets the SOW".2 points

Huh? Their premium seating is much less than ours. Even their highest level is about a quarter of the cost. You can get a 'priority' season ticket (including access to the lower level club and a bar to buy drinks from) for about 385 bucks a year. That includes the donation. I think that their approach is to go after quantity and concession (i.e. alcohol) sales. Every seat on the press box side between the 20's is some sort of priority, premium, club, or luxury seat. Just a completely different approach. They don't have the history or fan base to draw from so they are offering amenities. No big deal, both approaches will work. They cam grow their fan base and charge more later. They also have staggered prices for different length commitments (3, 4, 5 year) it OS less per year if you commit to a longer license. Here is a link to the lower priced premium seating... http://www.fau.edu/stadium/priorseats.html2 points

I have been really impressed with the decisions made by the FAU administration. They have made some very smart decisions with seating. They have valet parking, like a professional sports team. That will take away from tailgating but some older fans just want to drive up and walk in. They also chose to build the stadium with four levels of "premium" seating - basically the entire home side between the 20's is considered "premium" seating (luxury, premier, loge, and club). They built two different clubs to accomodate these premium season ticket holders. All of the loge boxes have been sold out according to their fans on the Belt Board. And they have made it really easy for fans to "split" the cost of a luxury box. Those premium seats (about 8,000 in total) have access to the two clubs... where the season ticket holder can purchase alcohol. I am going to guess that they will get a higher average of revenue per customer than most football stadiums because of this setup. You can even carry the drinks to your seats. Smart move... for FAU. They have that Boca crowd to entertain and even the Whole Foods has valet parking in Boca. In Denton - this set up would probably not work as well. We like our tailgating. Too much alcohol in Denton would also push the envelope in a much more conservative State. Anyways, I bet that their new stadium generates a lot of income for them, but not in the traditional college football way.2 points

Performing "Texas, Our Texas" would be great. But I don't believe the lyrics should be modified. I find it incredibly disrespectful when the national anthem is being performed at Dallas Stars games, and when they get to the "whose broad stripes and bright stars" the crowd yells "STARS!!" Likewise at Houston Rockets games at "and the ROCKETS!! red glare." The national anthem is performed as a tribute to our nation, not to celebrate a sports team. If the Green Brigade does "Texas, Our Texas," it needs to be done as a tribute to Texas.2 points

My name is Grant and I purchased the cheapest of the club level seats. I don't know anyone that is sitting up there though. Any 25's-35's couple sitting up there? I would like my wife to have someone to visit with pregame and me to drink beer with during the game. Do I want to be on the north end, by the tables in the club, or south end near the bar area? Many many questions I know but any help would be great! thanks Grant1 point

I am extremely proud of my 78 rep. points and my "special forces" status. That being said, when I become emperor of the earth, all those who denied me +1's along the way will be the first to feel my wrath under the coming reign of terror I will unleash upon all those who dare oppose me. Just sayin'.1 point

The reason the drumline had different uniforms, was because there were too many people in the band and not enough uniforms to go around. As for mocking the alma mater, most of those people are more loyal about UNT than majority of students. If you didn't notice at the last game last year we had an alumni band perform. of the about 150 people that performed, almost half were drummers.1 point

Assuming a sell-out for each game, that's only $60. per fan. That part is very do able. It's that 30,000 average that's gonna be hard. GO MEAN GREEN1 point

To be fair, North Carolina hasn't ever had the Ram logo on its helmet. Nor has Alabama that I know of, since they've kept their helmets old school forever. And there's solid reasoning not to have an eagle plastered all over when building the brand as Mean Green. So I think the SOW works best as a secondary logo. Put it on the field, some other small location on the uniform, use the wings somewhere, etc. But I agree that I don't think it's confusing to have a nickname (Tarheels, Crimson Tide, Mean Green) that differs from the mascot (Ram, Elephant, Eagle). I just think you have to be careful where you use a mascot as a logo when it's not the official nickname.1 point

I've watched the North Texas Bands since I was in High School and participated in half time shows with my HS band in the 60's. The McAdow-led Bands were musically without peer. Sometimes it was like listening to a 120 piece lab band. The Dr. Winslow-led bands were pretty close in quality to the McAdow bands, and twice as large. But they were there at games for themselves, not the team...or the school. They never took responsibility for promoting spirit at games. The current Bands are better than most bands in the south-south-west, but not as good as previous versions of the Green Brigade. They just don't bring the crowds to their feet in spontaneous applause like previous bands did. I remember one performance at Texas Stadium when we were playing SMU (Eric Dickerson and company). When the Band did it's grand finale (mainly in front of the SMU fans since SMU was the home team) EVERYONE in the stadium stood and gave them a standing ovation.....for at least 5 minutes. It's the only time I've ever seen the SMU fans show any class. I've seen A$M and UT fans do the same thing during the same era. One of the most underrated marching bands in Texas is the UTA band. Those guys could flat out perform at football games, and I would rate their fight song (as performed by the UTA bands of the early-to-mid-80's) as good as any in the state....even UT's. When they went head-to-head with the Dr. Winslow Green Brigade bands, they never out-played us, but they always OUT-SPIRITED us. Here is a sound clip of their fight song. The quality is pretty poor, but the "energy" of the fight song comes through. http://www.hark.com/clips/dgcntlnjrk-uta-fight-song1 point

For ME personally I love the fact that we have so many players committed this year. Lord knows I like to be subbed out a LOT. However I still plan on being in better shape this year. Just finished Austin Jailbreak and it makes the Warrior Dash look like a cakewalk. I really hope we can keep it to two teams. Will be a blast!1 point

Not an option for me right now, but I sure won't mind an occasional invitation to visit the Club Level. Sounds very nice! Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm still more interested in the back of the lower section, rather than the bottom of the upper level. Guess old habits die hard.1 point
