  3. Further proof that Bin Laden is still alive and that Pres. Obama is muslum. I mean, notice how Pres. Obama is sitting below Bin Laden? An obvious sign of bowing to a superior muslim leader. This also somehow proves that Pres. Obama was born in Uzbekistan.

  6. Pls help me stop having to explain to my kids why they never see UNT stuff with all the other Texas colleges stuff @ grocery stores, malls, restaurants, etc. Get our damn stuff out there – or at least load up a car and drive to every restaurant in DFW and give away flags / jerseys to hang up. Can start with Double Daves in Keller and Buffalo wild wings in Arlington (Just got back from lunch there, they had every college in Texas & Oklahoma except for UNT (At least I felt that way). Want to improve PERCEPTION / IMAGE then start with two things: 1) Prove with facts (If possible) that we are NOT a commuter school 2) Get our merchandise out next to the other 4-5 schools people care about around here I’m tired of explaining to my kids that UNT does not have any shirts @ Kroger like the OTHER 4 schools because….mmmmm, well I don’t really know- So the answer is “We are not very good in football”. It’s embarrassing to Alumni to eat @ a restaurant in DFW and not see us represented like the others! I’ll volunteer to drive around and give the stuff away – Man, am I the only one that feels this way?

  7. Appreciate it. I actually have been on the board just about daily since the K-State game, I just normally read what yall veterans have to say. May try and stop by and meet some of yall at a tailgate or something, since I plan on following Mean Green sports forever.

  15. they keep saying he's too small, but every year i see rb's drafted that are his size or smaller with what i believe to be similar talent. this year's draft: -kendall hunter, osu, 5-8 197 5th rd -jacquizz rogers, org st, 5-7 191 5th rd -dion lewis, pitt, 5-8 195 5th rd -jordan todman, uconn, 5-9 190 6th rd i don't know their 40 times, but they probably aren't too far off and i put his vision and elusiveness up against any of these guys. i think his ranking will rise and he'll end up getting drafted.

  16. My take is that "rub some green on it" is a UNT spin on the common phrase "rub some dirt on it". Rub some dirt on it is defined by UrbanDictionary.com as: To suck it up or man up in any kind of situation. Definition Link The phrase is commonly used in sports, and was popularized by a Peyton Manning MasterCard commercial seen below (the use of the phrase occurs at the :11 mark): I think it makes sense, and the UNT Athletics graphic design people made a pretty cool logo out of it.

  18. Pres. Obama re-baits the hook. Will some on the right be stupid enough to take the bait again? Surely not after being burned so recently, right? Sadly, I expect many of my truely conservative brothers to allow themselves to be blinded by ideology and soon sound the alarm that we didn't really get Bin Ladin, and that this is all a political ploy by Pres. Obama. Why won't he release the pictures, after all? I expect Pres. Obama to hold on to the pictures until the most politically expediant moment (about late summer of next year), let the naysayers and conspiracy therorist build, and then, BAM, turn the pictures face up on the table. Conservatives should stick to attacking Pres. Obama on Health Care and the economy (You know, things that matter to the American voter) and stop chasing shadows. For once, be smart and don't allow yourself to be taken to the political woodshed.

  24. Rick, I believe it was GWB while in office who said, "I really don't spend that much time thinking about him (OBL). Do you have to politicize every f'ing topic that rolls around? A douchebag mass murderer is dead. Don't fill the douchebag void.

  26. "What I have said is we’re going to encourage democracy in Pakistan, expand our non-military aid to Pakistan so that they have more of a stake in working with us, but insisting that they go after these militants. And if we have Osama bin Laden in our sights and the Pakistani government is unable or unwilling to take them out, then I think that we have to act, and we will take them out. We will kill bin Laden. We will crush al-Quaida. That has to be our biggest national security priority.” - Barack Obama, during 2008 Presidential campaign Don't act like the President didn't always have the resolve to do what he felt like he needed to do. Maybe he didn't believe in "enhanced interrogations" - but that doesn't mean he didn't have a laser focus on getting bin Laden. The whole reason he complained about the Iraq war was because he said it took away from the Afghan conflict - and more precisely hunting down Osama. Frankly either/both side/s trying to score political points on this makes me sick.

  32. Having never been to your stadium, I can't say how y'all currently use the GMG, but you could use it like the Spurs MAVERICKS use Go Spurs Go "LET's GO MAVS". You know when the time is right for cheers like this. It's an easy cheer that everyone can scream in unison. EDIT - Upon further discussion, it has been decided that I should avoid anything Spurs when making suggestions on this board.

  35. Agree except, I'd say RB's drafted after the 3rd round have a better chance going UFA route. I don't think LD will be drafted, just doesn't have the cookie cutter measurements the NFL focuses on today, but will go UFA route and will have a solid chance to play at the next level. Lance reminds me of DeDe Dorsey (an unknown to you all) in all aspects, he was an 2-Time NAIA All American. Their size, runnings style, and speed are almost identical. DeDe went the UFA route and had a much better chance, IMO, of earning a spot in the NFL than many 2006 draft choices because of it. The NFL is just too hung up on measurements for players outside the big 6.

  45. Disagree with you Emmitt. Boise St., TCU, and BYU are in that rare area of non-BCS teams that get treated like BCS teams. Why? Publicity. If they hammer Boise St., it is going to be HUGE news, and comparisons will be made on national networks between the unfair treatment. Now, if they hammer a Troy, Ball St., Eastern Michigan, UNT, or San Jose St., that action will be lucky to make the local papers. Moral of the story? Win at any cost. Cheat if you have to to win at a nationally recognized level. Because, if you do, you will receive a slap on the wrist from the NCAA for what it took to get you there. At sayin it's right, it just is. Can't wait to see the non-death penalty punishment handed out to Ohio St. (who, undoubtedly, deserves the death penalty).
