I sure hope so. I'd hate to think that 5 or so years down the road we'll be talking about how they weren't truly "great" or that the Sun Belt they played against was watered down. Sure hope we don't look back and discount them because they never made the top 25...hope we really can be content with the portion of the fan base that they lit a fire in and the legacy that they put in place.

I don't think we want this guy potentially being a role model for the freshmen coming in next year. Plus, maybe I dont have enough inside knowledge of the program, but I can't remember having a player with character issues on the team since jj took over. Maybe he chooses to stay away from them.

This. While living in Tennessee, I found that everyone else had a different idea as to the meaning of the letters UT. I say North Texas. When they ask what that is, I say a big-ass school in Texas that would probably blow your mind.

While its always about money (money talks) this conference is going to get better because programs are tired of getting their asses handed to them by opponents they believe are in the same class. This upgrade by UNT of its coaching staff is going to motivate the ULM boosters/alumni to step up; maybe next year or the one after. Makes you kinda wonder if hiring Dodge for cheap was a plan. If he wins; you're a genius; if he loses, it was a worthwhile experiment, but now we gotta go get some real talent. Losing to programs like Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky should piss you right off. We'll see, but this hiring of this coaching staff is how you get better. Kids are fired up; they say we're gonna be good. Doesn't really matter if they are; they think they are.

How about a helmet with "Not North Texas State" on each side ?

For what it's worth, I think this kid is someone we would take a chance on...if we don't have Tony Mitchel in class, and LOIs from Williams, Franklin, Jones, Robinson, Norris and Walton. Fortunately for us, our current signees allow us to be a little bit more conservative about who we offer on the last scholly.

Johnson has went thru 6 different teams in as many years ( 3 HS , 2 JCs, OSU). If things dont' go his way , he bolts. He only lasted 8 or 9 games before he was kicked off the Midland team. Apparently he didn't start a game & got pissed about it. He's very talented , but I would stay away from that cancer

Mark Cuban wants to bring an NL team to Dallas if he doesn't get the Cubs and seat them in downtown. Not sure how that would work, but that would be the end of the Rangers relevancy.

They have a horrendous defense and struggle to put teams away if they stop scoring. I really hope we keep the arial success and build our own version of the rest. Chase - and Dodge - have helped a crappy coach like Pinkel keep a pretty good team around him.

Why was Pinkel almost run out of town twice? Why do people around Chase joke about him saving Pinkel's job after two disasters in a row? Why did Dodge have to help tweak his offense? Ask Norv Turner if being a good coordinator and a good college head coach are the same thing. Hell, ask Dodge.

Chill out guys... He was suggesting doing it during tail gate time. It is a fun idea if you're someone who wants Leach here. He isn't my first choice, but you know if he comes, I'll be first in line to buy a Green Pirate flag.

I thought it would be a fun idea to fly the Pirate Flag (Jolly Roger) for the Troy Nov. 6th game if you are a person on the board that wants Mike Leach to be hired. If you dont have a Pirate Flag, try and find some way of promoting the Pirate theme during your tailgate.....with it being this close to Halloween, Party City, Wal-Mart, Target and other fine retail establishments should have something.
