I'm sure that's how you read it. I just really think if we had started the year 2-0 things may have been different. That loss just felt like it was the definition of the TD era and everyone felt it. 'Close but not enough.'4 points

I will still support the hitting in practices regardless of injury. We've missed nastiness/toughness over the past few years. I long for the days when offenses didn't want to throw over the middle on us cause our safeties were notorious head hunters. We were nasty in the trenches on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Personally, I'm glad that Coach Mac has identified this area as a critical component to the teams future success.2 points

No one likes it, but injuries do happen with a contact sport. You can't baby players in practice and hope to be successful on game day.2 points

You would have to throw in a lot more "what ifs" before Dodge would have been a success. Outlaw had a bad game, it happens to everyone who plays. He was the starter and NT's deep threat his junior year and is a most welcomed addition to the team. I actually think the wrs will be stronger this year, with Carey, Bynes, Strafford, Taylor and now with the surprise return of Outlaw and Olawale being switched to the position. Also as much as I would have liked to have Riley back, I think the wrs will fare better with a stronger arm at QB.2 points

I've got mine, and no it is not. Individuals wishing to carry onto university grounds need to be made to spend extra money on courses designed specifically around the situations we're trying to avoid. Even then I'm still against it.2 points

Coach M is a Genius, Thats all that needs to be said. I can't wait to go all season and never have to hear myself say the word. "arm tackle" or lack of a tackle on that play.2 points

Why did they choose to put a picture of one of his drops against Ohio on the page with this article? They could have substituted a picture of me getting kicked in the nuts and accomplished as much. I am glad that he is back though.2 points

From the UNT Cheerleaders, I know I've already thanked Kram and all the participants for helping make the GMG.com tournament a success, but I just wanted to give an extra large thank you to both the men's and women's basketball teams for their part in the game. I know this is their post season recovery time, and it meant a lot to us to see them out on a saturday. Also, after the game, we were presented with a cash donation from the Women's team. BTW: I saw the nearly all the women's team in the rec this morning running plays and what not. Good luck to these ladies in the future.1 point

Football was meant to be watched out doors. However, if suites generate at lot of money for my University....then great.1 point

I agree with this, with one exception. I might suggest a yellow/red jersey for Lance Dunbar... that's about it. Anyone else can hit/be hit in practice.1 point

Even if allowed, I don't think you're going to see very many students going out and getting their CHL. Most just won't care enough to do so. Know who I do think will take the time to get their CHL? Nutjobs. What used to require meticulous planning can now be accomplished at the drop of a hat. A one day safety course and now they're allowed to move worry free about campus waiting for just the right moment. I love guns, but rational thought has got to prevail here at some point.1 point

You got me on a technicality. Yes, he is a returning starter that also started the majority of 2009, so no, he did not have a lot of playing time last year but he has in his career. I will agree that we lost some anchors, but we also have some coming back, so I am not as concerned as some ogf you all.1 point

I enjoyed it! I think next time or maybe in the spring when we do the football game we should have the persons whole name next to the aviator that way we can give credit by name.1 point

NT held two track meets this weekend. I guess you shouldn't complain about something that is free, but it would be nice if they furnished results; not just the recaps. I am happy to hear about all the NT winners but not knowing who the competition was and what the comparative times, distances, and height were takes a lot away. Also only highlighting the winners and not providing the whole teams' results does IMO a disservice to the athletes and the few fans that follow T & F. Track is also a sport that even if you attend you are not likely to see all the events and identify all the participants. A minor rant, but it seems that more news could be provided. The coverage seems to be getting significant worse as year to date times are seldom updated, but having a home meet without the complete results is very small time to me. On a positive note, the team does have some very good athletes and with a couple of new coaches hopefully will show some good improvement this year and the future. It would be nice to have better coverage to follow their progress.1 point

Sorry, man...I think this is such failed logic. The idea that the addition of more guns into a random, hostile situation somehow keeps down the chances of casualties is, well if any of the Brain Trust had said it, stupid...but I've more respect for you, so I'll just say illogical. The image I have is of a crowded, auditorium like classroom...take the Lyceum...gunman walks in...200 people start scrambling over one another, knocking each other down for the exit with a complete self-survival/disregard for other's instinct. Now you want to add what...2,3,5 people with concealed weapons attempting to return fire at what I'll assume(hope) is their first human target, a circumstance no one know's exactly how they'll react in when first presented...save perhaps for the gunman who knew premeditatedly he'd be popping off some rounds at people and has already displayed his disregard for human life, and add trying to return fire amongst the pandemonium of fleeing people...and this somehow will create a safer situation?1 point

I used to want to play SMU and TCU but the fact is they would only hurt our RPI, so I don't really care anymore. They both suck and SMU plays the equivalent of 1A high school games OOC.1 point

Two things: 1) Who is the MWC going to get next? 2) How mad is BYU gonnna be Friday? Please note this was breaking news on ESPNNEWS at 10:30. So, the report that came out earlier today that the PAC-10 has not contacted UTAH may have changed.1 point

Talk about Night and Day. Let me just jump into this and say Nathan "Incomplete" Tune looked like last years team. He kept forcing the ball, and should he be first string QB, than let history repeat itself. On the other hand, Derek Thompson go ahead and get your Jersey number at Voertman's cause I want it. Finally, we have a QB that can throw down field. Better yet, how about the line blocking for him. If he gets that much protection on Saturday's then he will be a huge Offense threat. My biggest LIKE: is the size of the players. We have real guys with meat on their bones. The height and size of some of these guys should allow bigger gaps for the running game. My biggest DISLIKE: The dormant running game. I want to see plan B, incase plan A does not work. Today, I did not see the up the middle or true usage of the RB. All in all, big improvement from last years spring game.1 point

Almost 4,000 people enjoyed a great two-hour game today. I hope we are on our way to 20,000+ for the Rice game.1 point

Yes, but how many of the 100,000 badmouth their alma mater on local radio every chance they get? Sarcasm noted, but you are correct. We don't have a need for a notable alumni, that badmouths his alma mater, on a well-known sports station in one fo the largest markets in the nation. He will always be an "OU Wanna Be" and nothing more.1 point
