We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. This game will bother the hell out of these guys (and us) for the rest of their (our) lives. We know it, they know it. It wasn't just another game. I guess the saddest thing about all this is that the Sun Belt will be represented on national television by a team wearing uniforms that even an intramural team would be embarrassed to wear.

I really wanted this to be a humorous celebration of fickle sports fandom as we awaited Selection Sunday...despite the loss, I still feel I should go through with this post if not to try and ease all heartache, to at least give myself a sense of cathartic closure on one hell of a crazy season. And there isn't an independent thread on our board highlighting nasty posts and multiple pages of our own"Rabble Rabble Rabble!". It's almost like we dont give a sh!t what a program that can't mop our teams sweat thinks... please excuse my self satisfied grin.

As much as some may disagree, this is a form of stealing and it is clearly illegal. It is an infringement of intellectual property rights among other things. The guy obviously knew he was in the wrong or he would not have tried to "cover his tracks". Folks, you may not be aware or you may not care, but this type of activity is really hurting legitimate artists and legitimate businesses. I know lots of people think this thing is fun because they are getting away with something for "free" that they should rightfully be paying for when used, but that is the heart of the problem. This was not a victimless crime, and whether or not you like the idea of "big corporations" wrong is wrong. If you don't think the law is just, work within the system to change it. Until then, try not to be part of the problem. Stealing is stealing any way you want to cut it, and any person of even normal levels of intelligence knows it as such. Now, does the arrest, etc. fit the crime? Maybe, maybe not, but I can tell you from the research and policy work that we do here at IPI on Intellectual property and Intellectual property rights...IT IS A VERY BIG PROBLEM and it actually does financially hurt a lot of people...even people not associated with those big corporations some folks like to see as the root of all evil in the world. My guess, if the programs being downloaded and songs being downloaded "free" were yours and it was a part of the work you did to support your family, you would see it in a bit of a different light. This sort of thing has put many people out of work, cost untold millions in lost tax revenues, etc., etc. That may not be a popular fact with some folks, but is happens to be the truth. Please think about it the next time you or someone you know downloads a "free" song, movie, tv program, etc., etc. that they have obtained in such a manner. It's all part of a much bigger problem, not the laest of which is simple lack of honesty.

So if we are using hoopmanx's reasoning, where winning the Sun Belt equals a bottom 3rd team in CUSA, and SMU lost to the Sun Belt Champions who we beat twice this year, where does that put the ponies? I'm struggling with his logic but I think it would make them a mid-tier squad in the Women's Lone Star Conference.

They're threatened. Let compare the following: Football Stadium? NT Basketball Arena? NT Basketball Team? NT Football Team? SMU, but not for long. Overall Facilities? NT Perceived prestige of a degree? SMU Real World application of degree? NT Douchery? SMU by a long shot.

I'm glad a few of our conference foes are building new stadiums, but every time I see our's, I am thankful that we are not throwing up one of those steel erectors sets.

Dominates Xavier 7-0 Nice to see a full and healthy team. Hopefully a good confidence boost leading to the FIU/USA Trip next week. Opposing Coaches have high regards to the team when healthy. Plenty of Key matches coming that will determine seeding for Championships starting with FIU in Miami next week. Future important matches: Northwestern State -- Veteran Team with new coach but very dangerous, UT-Arlington -- saw them dismantle UCA last weekend and then blitz NW State. Troy and MTSU -- should be wins but they need to be convincing. Right still think team will be a #3 seed unless ULM loses soon or we pull out a road win over FIU, Denver seems to be nipping on the heels as they had a close loss to Tx Tech 4-3 and beat Colorado.

TT should have gotten Tourney MVP even in our loss....MVP should go to the best player on the court, not just the best player on the team who wins...and though bozeman had a hell of a tourney also and hit the winning shot....TT broke 5 tournament records....he should have won IMO

Does it worry anyone else that a guy who is signed to play D-1 ball playing on a 2A team cannot put his cowboy/honkey teammates on his back and run the table in the playoffs? He should be putting up monster numbers despite double or even triple teams. All that said, I cant wait to see Forrest grow as a player under Johnnys tutelege.

No Freakin way does that NT with a star in the middle deserve to get put on any helmet. That would be an embarrassment. I don't mind seeing it on my Alumni mail but would hate to look at it every Saturday on our team. And saying numerous people requested at hat with that logo doesn't mean anything....it could have been a nerd convention for all anyone knows.

I think there's a decent chance that the FIU game will be on ESPNU. As to the schedule....look at the games with the three bowl teams from the SBC this past year: FIU, Troy and Middle. In every one of those games....we have more than one week to prepare. We have all offseason to prepare for FIU, and we have two weeks (with byes) to prepare for both Troy and Middle. With our experienced top notch staff....I consider this an advantage. Great schedule IMHO.

What do you like about UNT? Our Talons can't manage to take care of a cannon or bell. Our shade of green looks like vomit. Our branding/logos are nowhere near up to snuff. We're not using the AC deck the way we should. The pricing of club level seats in the new stadium blows. We don't demand enough of our basketball program. Our Alumni Association listens not to our most important fans opinions. I'm sure I'm leaving more out, but how could anyone care for a university that can't get a single thing right? Edit: We also don't have a good chant for use at football games. We can't figure out how to make out hands look the most like an eagles foot.

I think the Seniors deserve it, and the funding would be worth the publicity if we did well. I know I personally would enjoy a continuation of this team. Hard to believe all those guys are going away after all these years. I say open up the wallet!

Any chance we get a bid? I don't know what the typical resume of an NIT invitee looks like, but I would assume 22-11 (8-8) with victories against TTU, LSU, and a deep conference tourney run would do the job...
