I don't. I have seen the overwhelming majority of these "opportunity games" over the past three decades. They almost always bring embarrassment to the university. I hope that they now will become a thing of the past. It would be nice to see North Texas only schedule games with schools that will play home-and-home series. Maybe make exceptions for a 2-for-1 series with schools like Texas, A&M, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, but never again selling off games like has happened in the past. The students at North Texas are investing too much to have somebody bleed the program for extra dollars by selling "opportunity games".3 points

Personally, I believe that a win over Clemson or K-State would make a much larger impact on our recruiting than going to a lower tier bowl game. We will eventually get the win over Goliath, we just need more rocks for our slingshots.2 points

I believe the entire team will do well. One player I believe will do well is Riley Dodge. Riley wanted very badly to be the quarterback to lead our turnaround. Although some arm injuries have kept that from happening as qb, that heart, quickness and talent are still ready to break-out. I believe he will be one of the most coveted players in 2010.1 point

I believe making it to a bowl game shows that we are a better program overall and will do better in the long run. Sure, beating Clemson or K-State would be great, but what if it was only 1 of 3 wins next season? Didn't ULL beat K-State last season? I'd rather be MTSU than ULL right now.1 point

If we're afraid to schedule a FCS team (SFA, Texas State, etc) to open the stadium before our Sept. 10th game with Houston, we need to fold our tent and slink quietly out of town in the dark of night. Full house for the opener vs a FCS team. Full house for our 1-0 team vs Houston the following week. Two good crowds should negate the need for the typicial "opportunity game" road opener. It's time to think positive and not dwell on worst case scenarios and what ifs.1 point

It's obvious San Antonio as a destination is the draw. Much like Orlando, it is a good road trip for fans and players plus a recruiting hotbed for coaches. I would expect UNT soon to be on their schedule sometime in the near future too. As a UNT fan when looking at easy roadtrip travel and fun, I'd pick San Antonio over any current SBC destination. UTSA will be pushed up into the FBS if for no other reason just because of their location and facility at that location. I believe the scheduled teams want to go to San Antonio (a vacation road trip). I wouldn't be surprised if CUSA was watching their progress very closely.1 point

I don't mind an 'opportunity game' every once in a while but I don't like for it to be the first game. Make it after the first home game, whether that be the second, third, or fourth game of the season. If we don't play a top team then it will be hard to be selected for a BCS bowl. Playing non-AQ teams and low AQ teams might get you a fairly decent bowl but not a BCS bowl where the big money is. It will be hard to attract the top teams on a 2 for 1 as long as our stadium capacity is in the 30s. I think that's doable when the capacity reaches 50,000. I'm talking about those who draw upwards of 80K per game. For those that draw less, I say go for it.0 points

The bowl trip...by a landslide. Look, a win over either K-state or Clemson is atomatically put into the "fluke" category without a successful (bowl) season. Want proof? Ask any DFW sports fan who isn't a fan of the SBC this question..."Who won the game between ULL and k-state last year"? After they say "who's ill?" they'll probably guess k-state.0 points

I have lived in Denton for 27 years and I am not a fan. I find it poorly planned and poorly utilized. The infrastructure could be much better.0 points

Seems like a service academy would be best. 10 year of Sept.11. New Stadium. Service Academy. Would be huge.0 points

---That tier system is very flawed and in many cases a total joke. I have read that law school evaluation on Prineston before and they had nothing but a prelaw program at the time. Besides evaluations are more meaningful when looking at various departments individually and not the university as a whole. ---The WAC wanting UTSA or Texas State is very telling..... they are very desparate..... stay away from there....for many reasons.0 points

Sorry, but I don't beleive UTSA will live up to their hype and your expectations.0 points

Come on Vito....4-8? I guess you don't believe in the mean green. I'm guessing 7-5 or 8-4. I think they lose to Clemson and K-state, but beat either Middle Tennessee or Troy.-1 points

The new coach to go with the new stadium is the best thing that is going to happen to the team this season.-6 points
