dont worry about this, obama will share the wealth with all teams. biden can be the spokesman. maybe teams that dont get invited can get a rebate or something.3 points

Really, it's just another example of our downplaying the Belt, when, again, it's our team not being up to Belt standards that's the real problem.2 points

Wow that is awesome and what a way to go out in style for Catalina Cruz the lone senior on the team and she clinches the first berth into the NCAA Tournament for the ladies. Also it appears they cam back from a 3-0 deficit to win. Very early but they will probably be in a Baylor Pod or UT Pod for the Tournament. Awesome win for a first time victory over Top 50 Team.2 points

Love it! Hilarious. Or maybe he can just throw another tax on the wealthy programs? So teams like Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, and USC will have to re-distribute their massive earnings to lesser programs like UNT? I like the sounds of that as a NT fan, but the problem is that in real life nObama is re-distributing what I and many others have worked so hard for. Won't go any further with that, but your post was hilarious.1 point

The ITA has fairly strict rules in place that say you must play players in order of strength and once line-up is established you can only shift the player 1 spot up or down. A match can be protested if line-ups are stacked. I know for certain ULM has been protested at least twice this year. Syracuse was protested by EMU and their 4-3 win was flipped to a 4-3 loss. Most coaches know the teams they are playing and keep quite the eye on any shenanigans. As for Denver they are down this year with injuries, having to throw in a walk-on at #6. Overall a down year for Sun Belt with Denver and USA much weaker than normal.1 point

All good points about why we would be attractive to other conferences (media market, recruiting base, ect) but the reason why we are not being courted right now is because we do not make use of these things. We have a great media market, but how often do you hear about us on the radio? On TV? How about seeing a regular season basketball game on a local channel (other than UNT's station)? We do not use our market that is available. Since we do not use our market, no big donors or businesses are going to want to sponsor us because they will not get any worth while advertising for their money. If UNT is not all over the local media markets, then how can we expect high caliber recruits, who have grown up hearing all about UT, A&M and now TCU, to want to come to UNT? Everyone it tickled pink when they see a 30 second spot on the local news about UNT but I say that should be considered an insult. You want to be in a power conference? Go down to Austin or College Station and watch their local TV, see how often you see any new not related to their universities or teams. Its a total different world and that is what we need to strive for. I know that the front office is trying, I do, and I also know that the rest of the campus still has the mentality that athletics are separate from academics and their programs. UNT as a whole does not realize that the university encompasses everything and that all parts should support each other. If you dont believe me, then go talk to some of the heads of the colleges or depts. All they care about is their small little corner which they have direct control over. Think of it this way, you (future conference) are looking at buy 2 cars. One (UNT) is a 1969 Camaro SS, but it is rusted out and missing parts. The owner says that if you buy it they will try to replace some of what is missing. Then the other (UTEP, just for example) is a 2008 Chevy Malibu, great condition, has everything you need, will be able to be used to pick up other people immediately and has low miles. Which are you going to buy? Yes the Camaro has the potential but it will cost the buyer so much time and money that the investment is not worth it. Unless these things change we will NEVER be in a power conference. NEVER. Period. Sorry for the rant guys, but I bleed my green with a passion and I just want to see UNT grow.1 point

Copied from another message board, is what appears to me an accurate listing of NT's softball signings as well as 4 next year commitments. The impossible is what nobody can do, until somebody does it. I don't know who said it first, I've seen many attributions (of couse, Hornfans.com would claim that Darrell Royal said it. At that site, they attribute everything from 'Let There Be Light' to 'It's A Quarter After One, I'm A Little Drunk, and I Need You Now' to him). Anyway, it's a good little saying. Many people would say it's impossible for us to win the Sun Belt this year, but I sez otherwise! Also, I'm going to put it here at my desk so I can see it while I'm wrangling with underwriters who forget why their insurance companies exist.0 points

No kidding. Just imagine what will happen if we eliminate turnovers, focus on scoring in the red zone, play to win, take it one game at a time, manage the clock correctly and win the special teams battle. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say good things will happen if we take care of those things.0 points

Yes, Ryan Leaf had he played for UT last season would have won that game. Brady, as he was in college, wouldn't have. Next question...-1 points

I like, no really like, picking up Dez in the first round for the cowboys. Now, after saying that I don't get the selection of the LB from Penn state. Didn't Jerry learn about white linebackers from the Big Ten(Carpenter anyone)? Also, people expect us to believe a QB who couldn't go in the first two rounds would have been the decisive player in the national title game????-4 points
