  1. I wonder how many owners of successful businesses come from UNT and the degree of involvement they have with the University that helped get them where they are... We know of Jordan Case and Park Place Lexus and how well he is involved with the university. But, I just found out that Jay Lombardo of Lombardo Custom Apparel is a UNT grad too. Especially when he gives so much to the Stars and Mavs market, I am not sure he has any involvement with us. But, why can't that change? What others around the metroplex, state, nation do you know who is an alumni of UNT that we should target more often??

  3. I got Adam Baldwin's autograph last time he came through. *hubba hubba* He's as big and buff in person as he looks in the movies. Nice, too. Listened to a great panel discussion with him and Alan Tudyk about Serenity/Firefly. *sigh* Adam, Alan and Nathan Fillion make listening to my husband and kids playing Halo:ODST bearable. And, a last plug for the sci-fi con: these guys typically put on pretty good shows, too. I was at the last one with Sean Patrick Flanery of The Boondock Saints. He also gave a great panel discussion on his career. Now, I just gotta decide which shirt I wanna wear: "Seduced by the Dork Side" or (written in elvish) "If you can read this, I found your ring." Talk Nerdy to me.

  5. True comedy is saying I'm being redundant in response to an article where Dodge says the exact same bullcrap we've heard for the 3rd straight offseason now. This year, they really really REALLY REALLY REEEEEEALLY no fooling care. Honest, for true, no takebacks, no crossed fingers. Not like before (apparently). Not that it matters, because it's essentially meaningless coachspeak anyway. Check it off the offseason list, just like Dickey's annual oath to open up the passing game.

  6. I think his credentials look pretty good. In fact, considering how all of this has transpired, I am surprised we were able to get someone looking this good. Obviously, he has an interest in athletics: NCAA Board of Directors, chair of three different conferences. Since he is interim, he has no need of being a yes man for anyone. Not saying he will not, but there is no need for him to be one.

  7. I don't think we're gonna "force" him to. He'll perhaps play a few minutes here and there at the point, but I don't think that'll be a problem either.

  8. He also has no need of doing anything at all for the advancement of our university. Just sit there and make sure things go OK for a year, collect a paycheck, then leave. Not saying he will not, but there is no need for him to do that.
