So why are you concerned ? By your own posts you will not donate, will not buy tickets or have anything to do with the team until changes you want are made. The offense will be OK without Riley at quarterback. The program will be OK without Shafts support.2 points

If there are any issues moving forward. I hope to hell we just stay out of it.2 points

I never, ever, ever agree with EE, but I will this one time. From what I've read, it sounds like an overconfident pilot attempting to land in near-zero visibility in an aging (and likely under-maintained) aircraft.1 point

I've heard somewhere in the neigborhood of 40' by 30' for the video board at the new place. Also, you see Alabama listed down there near the bottom. With their new endzone addition to open this fall, they will have 4 scoreboards that size (one in each corner of the endzones).1 point

Couldn't agree more on this topic. Mosley, Austin Fitzpatrick, and Jeremi Mathis can make a huge difference in the passing game and running game. Losing the threat of #11 running the ball (Thompson will run, but isn't a homerun threat) magnifies the need for someone to pick up that slack in the offense. It's the old adage that "you can't cover all of them", and if Canales will utilize these hybrid type of athletes it really opens up a lot of opportunities for big plays and eating up chunks of yardage at a time. Don't forget about Jamize Olawale the TE recruit from California as well as Chris Bynes the WR recruit from Kansas who will be here in the fall. Olawale is a 240 lbs H-Back type that runs a 4.5 40yd and averaged 25 YPC last season. He's one of the most exciting recruits in the 2010 signing class to me. If used correctly he can be a huge matchup nightmare. Bynes is a WR recruit who weighed in a 220 lbs on his visit that can also run (shown in his role as an outside WR at Coffeyville JC) and create matchup problems. The college player from this past season that always comes to mind who was visible to the entire country on a regular basis was Aaron Hernandez the "TE" from Florida. He was arguably the most valuable player in the Florida offense not named Tebow and was a 1st team All-American.1 point

If I were Tune's dad or Thompson's dad, I'd be on the phone daily with Dodge and Canales, campaigning for the other guy's son to get the job. Starting QBs for our school can count on crippling injury, academic dysfunction, persona-non-grata status and two years worth of cold shoulder, exile to the special teams unit, or threats of position change used as a tool to push them out of their scholarship. Being a starting QB for North Texas is not a growth industry. It's like being the extra guy on the away team in Star Trek or the drummer in Spinal Tap. If I had a son, I'd feel safer seeing him grow up to clean whale tanks at Sea World than start at QB for the Mean Green.1 point

Anwar al-Awlaki has done enough to lose his citizenship under 8 USC 1482. Specifically, he serves as an officer (regional commander) for al-Qaeda, an organization that has declared war against the United States. He is a deadly threat to American citizens, and won't stop until he is dead. So, I really have no problem with Obama ordering his assassination.1 point

Thanks to your crappy attitude, I have run out of my daily negative votes for the first time ever. So this will have to do... NEGATIVE 1 TO YOU SIR! How about you save your statements about the "era" for when the era is actually over. Until then none of what you are saying has any merit. It's not like we are all happy with where our football program is at, but the kind of persistent negativy you are contributing right now really should be saved for IF Coach Dodge is fired. After this season I think you may be singing another tune.1 point

In my experience... They don't talk much until the drugs wear off and they wake up. And by the time that happens, I've usually already left them back in a public place. Thanks for being a good sport.1 point

I was actually surprised by the amount of tailgating activity (I've seen less at some late-season games) and the crowd. It was definitely not overstated at 3,800+. Great experience and we do not have a quarterback problem.0 points

i enjoyed the game very much today. both sides showed flashes and there has to be improvement. side note....as the players were arriving to head into the stadium, my kids and i stood about 20 feet away from the main entrance and up comes some dude. he introduces himself to my kids as Chico Cananles. it was really cool that he did this. he went out of his way to come say hi to us. he did say that the scrimmage was going to be very vanilla today, but not to worry no other coach has ever gone out of his way to greet us and talk to us...very cool...he's a keeper!!!0 points

Or he could transfer for legitimate reasons only to be labeled a quitter because we selfishly want him to provide our team with a game ready backup.0 points

One of the dumbest posts ever. Which leads me to believe that you were just trying to draw the above response.0 points

Sorry the Mean Green nation was confused. The Spread offense does not consist of every play being a QB sneak or run for a loss of one, nor a quick out that leads to an interception. The question should be, will our linemen block to allow our QB time to throw the ball down field or leave a gap to run up if pressure is on? On a side note, this year will be the first year of the Dodge era that focus will fall on the WR and not the QB to make the plays. This year we will have more than a QB threat that will keep D's guessing. Every team that beat us last year, knew what play Dodge was going to call.0 points

Dodge is done. The only questions left are if RV fires him in week 7 or 8.-1 points

Let's see. I said Dodge wasn't the right hire for us...and I was right. I said Riley... was too fragile to play D1 QB...and I was right. And I say Dodge will not be back next season, but I will be. Because being a fan of my school doesn't mean blindly accepting this bad product. If being a fan means always saying the coach is right, then all those Dickey haters have some explaining to do.-1 points

Pssst. 1. The Dodge era is the worst in school history. What jury are you waiting on? 2. Vizza was the better option, but Daddy didn't see it that way. 3. Dodge will be fired mid-season, but will stay on the rest of the season. The same way they did with Dickey.-1 points

5-31. Dodge has to win 7 games to pass the Dennis Parker's record. And that's with an extra season, and one extra game per year. The Dodge Era is the worst in school history-1 points

Yes after this season I will be singing a different tune. I will buy season tickets and start giving to the University again, because Dodge will be gone and the program will be going in the right direction.-1 points
