  1. Mangino would drop at least 20 F bombs just trying to get his pants on every morning.

  3. It's a slippery slope when you condone the killing of an American citizen without due process. I have no problem with taking out enemies of the US, but in the case of an American citizen, there needs to be some kind of due process, otherwise it's a dangerous precedent. If he's "done enough to lose his citizenship", then fine--bring him to trial, convict him, and execute him.

  4. Seriously guys, we need to get over Thompson losing his redshirt and move on. It happened and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Yes, he was but three minutes shy from having an additional year of eligibility, but I really don't see it as that big of a deal. Rarely does any team have a four-year starter at QB that plays every single game in each of those four years. Some of you will disagree but I really don't view Thompson's Freshman season playing time much differently than I view UT's Garrett Gilbert's Freshman campaign. Take out his stats in the national championship game and he participated in 8 games, compiling a grand total of 124 passing yards on 15 completions in 26 attempts. Now, had he not been forced into action in the championship game, would you view those regular season stas as a worthwhile contribution versus having an additional year of eligibility?

  5. Freddy Couples in not one armed. If you idiots watched more golf you'd know that he's had the habit of fingering his taint after good shots since he won the PGA in 91. Freaking Golf Noobs.

  11. Is the thought process on Babb and Morgan coming to UNT just wishful thinking or has it been reported that each of them is actually considering a transfer to UNT? I know Babb was offered and considered UNT out of HS, but has anything been reported more recently? Also, I don't see anything on Morgan's intention to transfer to UNT. I saw it reported that Baylor may be a possibility. Is the hope that Morgan will consider UNT based solely on his father's history or is there something else to this?

  12. Just skimmed through today's game on the DVR (2nd viewing). This offense is not in a good way. If there has been a philosophical shift from Rudy to Clint I wonder what exactly that is. The hitters approach is still too aggressive and they can't produce witj RISP. Example.....2nd inning - 2nd and 3rd no outs....no runs, bottom of the order couldn't do anything. Not a mid range flyball, not a grounder to the right side, not a squeeze bunt. Zip. They wasted a dazzling start from CJ. 7IP, 9K's, 0 runs. Wow. I am somewhat surprised that he is adjusting so well. Great to see him limit his pitchers per inning (the anti-Harden). Salty is DL'd again. No shock whatsoever. I would kill to still have a solid receiver and great room guy in Gerald Laird still here. A few years ago they had 4 guys behind the plate and traded the wrong one. Salty had value on the market. That now is a thing of the past. I am pulling really hard for Teagarden to put it togteher, but it's not happening yet. Wash you say?? I don't really care for how he handled the bullpen after Frankie's failure. He threw O'day for a 2nd straight day a few weeks after the dude needed a cortizone injection in his elbow. Also Oliver is probably not available tomorrow against the M's. They already need a good bounceback series or this could be a long first month. Do a rain dance for the bats. D-talk tomorrow night after the game.

  16. He'll probably stay. Child labor laws are a lot more strict outside of Indiana.

  17. Yep, looks like he just committed to the Lobos on 1/30. Well, I guess that's better for us than if he had gone to Western Kentucky or FIU.

  18. This is a guy I wish Canales would immediately call: Tarean Austin He's interested in two Sunbelt schools and he's open to leaving the state of Florida, since he appears to be leaning to Western Kentucky.

  19. Do you think he'd view this hire as a sign that our program "is going in a direction, which is up?" Regardless of Rivals ranking/ratings, I was more excited about Jordan Taylor than I was Javia Hall, but I'd gladly take either one.

  20. Well, I'm certainly not suggesting that Canales won't accept the job but, if that turns out to the be case, I'll still be very satisfied with the attempt. IMO, Canales is one of, if not, the top option(s) out there right now and I am ecstatic we've gone after him. It's proven that a coach's previous pay scale and UNT's dismal, short-term future aren't as big of obstacles to overcome as many on this board once believed. I hope Canales views the UNT job as a challenge he is willing to take head on and sees that our odds aren't insurmountable. If not, I hope we move on to the 2nd top option, rather than working our way from the bottom up. Please Coach Canales, accept the offer and help us get this ship headed in the right direction!!

  23. So, do we have to wait 17 days after he was offered the position before he can accept it? Anyone else a little concerned that no "official" report has even mentioned Canales by name yet? It's been more than 24 hours since it was reported that the job was offered to "a coach that coordinated at a BCS school last season" (and I'd probably add another 12-24 hours for that news to leak to a reporter). If Canales was going to accept the job, wouldn't it make sense for him to do so ASAP so he could at least talk to a few recruits (maybe even those he was recruiting for USF) before national signing day next week? Might we be jumping the gun on this announcement? Or should I just take the advice of the old, wise one and "choose to let the folks who get paid to do this stuff worry about all this 'behind the scenes' stuff???" No, I was never very good at waiting until Christmas to open my presents.

  25. Dodge is done. The only questions left are if RV fires him in week 7 or 8.

  26. Let's see. I said Dodge wasn't the right hire for us...and I was right. I said Riley... was too fragile to play D1 QB...and I was right. And I say Dodge will not be back next season, but I will be. Because being a fan of my school doesn't mean blindly accepting this bad product. If being a fan means always saying the coach is right, then all those Dickey haters have some explaining to do.

  27. You remove a 6-6 coach BECAUSE of what you've seen the previous three years. The gradual evolution of removing HS coaches, tweaking the offense, hiring qualified assistants, etc etc isn't to me a sign of growth but rather desperation moves as the "formula" failed. If these changes were made wholesale between years 1 and 2...or even 2 and 3 then I could see where we could point to this as a program that is learning/growing. As it is, this is a gift year and is absolutely make or break. Any more leniency and you're not being fair to your investors.

  29. Yes, you are. Reasons: 1.) No hands 2.) No hops 3.) Weak 4.) Big White Stiff 5.) name the last good UNT big man white guy Center in the last 20 years 6.) Jones doesn't trust him 7.) His teammates don't trust him. 8.) He's not hungry 9.) I'm tired of typing reasons.

  30. Pssst. 1. The Dodge era is the worst in school history. What jury are you waiting on? 2. Vizza was the better option, but Daddy didn't see it that way. 3. Dodge will be fired mid-season, but will stay on the rest of the season. The same way they did with Dickey.

  31. 5-31. Dodge has to win 7 games to pass the Dennis Parker's record. And that's with an extra season, and one extra game per year. The Dodge Era is the worst in school history
