Why attempt to build an instantly recognizable logo when instead you can put text on the helmet that's easily confused with the DFW region? Further, why just use a logo when you can cram both into a small area where neither are recognizable? You're not thinking straight.

Completely agree and wanted to say that we had one before the new soundsystem and scoreboard/video boards were installed. I never understood why they took it out? It gave the place a much more professional feel. Maybe there's a newer one in the works sometime down the road after the stadium is complete. Rick

I saw that photo also, but it's from the top of the stairs at ground level from the corner with the Oklahoma State fans in the near foreground. The small one I linked to is at least from the very top. I'm certain can do better than show a photo that's half orange. I have one but haven't been able to find it. Rick

I find it difficult to believe a couple of multi purpose facilities with temporary, fold-away seating is a nicer place to watch College basketball than the Fabulous Super Pit? Of course I could be wrong? Because when you go to our athletic website to search for a great, quality photo of the Fabulous Super Pit that shows the entire interior of the facility from above the best your going to get is this near postage stamp size photo and you have to dig to find it. Yes, we have nice facilities, and there's more on the way. But in my opinion we don't promote them enough. Rick

I agree with your sentiment. I like Dodge as a guy. I like that he values the guys more as men than as football players. I hope that one day we're fretting about some SEC school interviewing Dodge like we are about JJ (so glad he's still here!). If Dodge cant get it done this year, it's time for him to go. But I really want him to succeed. I hope Coach Canales can help Dodge in being successful, and if he is, I hope he sticks around. I love D-Lo's history here. I don't want his legacy tarnished by his last 3 years here. But, if they can't get it done this season, I'd like to see the entire staff turned over. This is an ultimatum year. No excuses for anyone! Win, or go home.

I think his point is that some spread offenses only go under center to run in short yardage situations. Just because Riley goes under center doesn't mean the defense can sell out to the run.

Privatize social security or disband it all together. We should pay for seniors and people who are currently, say 40 and younger, have to pay in with the understanding that we'll never get anything out, and then we have to be responsible for taking care of our own retirement. I would not be for screwing seniors who are close enough to retirement to have been counting on Social Security, but I'm willing to sacrifice so that my kid and grandkid's generation don't get stuck in the same boat we are. Social Security was doomed the minute that Congress and Politicians of both parties started putting Social Security tax revenue into the general fund. Look at unemployment vs the number unemployed. Unemployment is going down largely not because private jobs where people pay into Social Security are on the rise, but rather because A. they are no longer searching for work or have run out of unemployment benefits and thus aren't being reported (like folks under 65 who are looking for work and WANT a job, but just aren't counted because they are old enough to retire) or B. are taking government jobs which are the only type of job on the incline. Government employees by and large don't pay into Social Security, rather into their own private pension funds.

All of Congress is to blame for the Social Security debacle, they had SS in a lock box then got greedy for their little pet programs/projects and got their hand into the cookie jar and never let loose. Just pathetic actions from every party involved regardless of leanings.

Maybe if we stop paying for the seniours all together then we will have some left over for us!!!!! I mean why did they not save for this. Why am I footing the bill? Abolish Social Security before it brings us 30 somethings down!!!! If we could keep illegals out of the country then senior's could start washing dishes and mowing lawns instead of playing with grandchildren volunteering and mentoring. And no cable news for seniors who cant afford it. Why should they get fox news on my dime?

This is another example of what happens when people are deluded into thinking that they do not need to care for themselves...that someone else (the government) will do that for them. I think it's actually 7.5% and your employer chips in another 7.5%. Too bad that is not in some self-directed account that you own/control rather than the government. When planning for your golden years, do not count on anything from Social Security (which was supposed to be a safety net). I read (or heard) somewhere that some of the better looking unemployment numbers were do to some starting to fall off the count because they exhausted unemployment benefits or something like that. I don't put a lot of stock in what our government tells us these days. Keith

You are absolutely right. They don't worry about that because if any of this happens and UT doesn't do well for awhile, they can always become an OU or A&M douche.

They may have a moral right to expect people to pay for that up front, but I'm talking about the Constitution. What part of the constitution allows the federal government to mandate that a private citizen purchase a product simply for existing. Beyond that, there is a strong article 10 argument as much of this is going to be put on the back of states and violates state sovereignty as protected by the 10th.

Perhaps, but you have to remember that the "health care" portion of this bill does not go into effect until 2014. So basically, the addiction does not begin until 2014, so that leaves a 4 year window for this to be repealed.

Take the school allegiance out of it. Imagine you know a coach who has worked his way up through the ranks, paid his dues, and proven himself. You've gotten to know this a coach and you respect him professionally and like him personally. Would you want to see this person who you like and admire coach for $200,000 in the Sun Belt Conference or for $700,000 in the SEC? I want Coach Jones to stay here, but he's earned the right for his shot at the bigger stage and the bigger money, and that's all the reporters are saying.

I think is a given...I know I fall directly into the boat of a person working a job he isn't terribly passionate about b/c of its benefits while putting my entrepreneurial wants on hold...and I'm certainly not the only person in that category. 2 is of course always a risk. I don't see how the two would be exclusive of each other. If you increase employment you increase tax revenue without a per capita increase.

Would not the increase in entrepreneurial-ism in and of itself increase government revenue offset the, what are now just assumed, tax increases? More businesses, more employed, more taxes collected? On a serious note, as has been wishfully-noted by others before, I'd like to see some variety in offensive formations. Not a whole lot is necessary, and we wouldn't necessarily see too much of that at this point since it's mostly nuts and bolts work being done.

How come K State band always got to play first during every break. They would play so freaking long that we couldnt even complete the fight song. The UNT band finally just started playing at the same time. I hate the Big 12, even thier sucky bands.

I believe if you can't beat them join them when it comes to drugs and I mean all drugs. Tax them, regulate them, and take the illegal element out of the equation. Use some of the tax money to campaign against the use of drugs and fund rehab centers. Just the saving in life, money spent fighting drugs, and court/prison costs are staggering. It is a war we can't win, and we are constantly losing ground on. I am not an advocate of drugs, but if a person wants drugs is not hard to find them. Making even the worst drugs safer, and making sure they are cut with safe ingredients is a starting point. The drugs like meth and heroin could be sold at a legal strength level. Let US companies make the money and create the jobs that drug lords have made. I would much rather have drug money going through legitimate companies here. Then support stronger regulation allowing businesses that want to discriminate against drug use as a deterrent along with a social war on how bad drugs are for a person's health especially in the use of shall we call them hard drugs. Hell smoking cigarettes now has a pretty bad stigma tied to them. I am as conservative as most get, but I know this drug war is something we can not win.
