They didn't have to live up to their offer of free pizzas if we had won.....but Pizza Inn had an ad in today's D-RC congratulating us on our 24-9 season. And because we went 24-9....at the Pizza Inn on University....all day Monday (March 22) the buffet costs only $2.49.2 points

Very good article. The flip side, do any of these teams want to schedule NT? This team really is dangerous.2 points

If its any consolation, you guys sounded great on TV today. Thanks to everyone who was able to make the trip.2 points

Only one answer, more and more tax money to this "drug war" that we are clearly winning. Legalizing weed and trying to stop real drugs is the only logical choice. I also don't understand why we have given billions to Mexico's leaders when they are some of the most corrupt individuals in the world. I guarantee you most if not all of that money is funding, or helping the cartel kingpins. It's 2010 people, let's take a note from California's book and move to legalize it, they will be voting in November to do this and I hope it passes and the drug warriors don't pull the "save the children" crap again. Taxing it and selling it to people over 21 will keep it away from children. You think drug dealers ID kids? Hell no. Over 50% of people want to see this happen and it's all just a matter of time before it's no longer taboo and the older generation who were subject to seeing refer madness get some sanity of their own and just get with the times. Marijuana is the cartels main cash cow and no one would smoke dirt mexiweed is it was legal and grown in the states and that's the truth. I just have never understood how it's okay for a man to come home from a hard days work and drink 6 beers each night and tear his liver in half as opposed to smoking a bowl and going to sleep with virtually no ill effects...2 points

Antwone Matlock, thanks for toiling away in practice so we could be conference champions. I always enjoyed when you got playing time! Eric Tramiel....you were such a warrior for us. I will miss you donning the green and white. You were arguably our best player the last two years, and one of the best leaders I've ever seen.2 points

http://www.elpasotimes.com/newupdated/ci_14311218 Our local drug task force officer here recently related a story to me that he and his department were told by a member of the U.S. Justice department how very close this Mexican violence situation is getting to Dallas. Well, if you live in El Paso, it's there already. To me, this is an example of a people who live in fear and have no way to protect themselves. It's like getting an act of congress to own a gun legally in Mexico to protect yourself, and even then, it can't be a hand gun larger than a .38 or a hunting-length .12 gauge shotgun. How much worse will this get before the U.S. gets seriously involved, if ever? Rick1 point

Hey, check out the front cover of the latest issue of Sports Illustrated! In the right hand bottom corner is none other than the Mean green's one and only EPPY! SI has six different covers for this edition. Our area gets Kansas' Sherman Collins, but the BEST part is seeing Eppy. If for no other reason that to see the great Eppy, you should check out this issue! Way to go Mean green...great PR from getting to the big dance. Even with the loss yesterday, I think the Mean Green nation as a whole can be very very proud of this team, the effort they made and the great results. It looks great for another trip next season to the NCAA Tournament. Check out Eppy on the cover of SI!!!!!! GO MEAN GREEN!1 point

Alright, who are you, and what have you done with the real Fake?1 point

Don't forget the cheerleader in the top corner, too. And be glad you only got a negative from one person. I'm filled with rage after seeing our season end yesterday, and I don't like seeing Scrappy slandered, either.1 point
-
OK, shame on the person who gave me a negative one for this post...just where is your sense of humor???? Ha! I probably deserved the negative one because I was so focused on Eppy/Scrappy that I missed Josh White being on the cover as well. I see him now...he's in between the legs of Collins. Maybe that's why I didn't see him in the first place...I'm not in the habit of looking in that area. Man, some of you folks just have no sense of humor AT ALL!1 point

I'll go ahead and say it's a gimme: "The Rice game is a gimme." You can quote me. And, for the record, so is Army. We'll paint West Point Mean Green, for sure, dude! Like, totally! The ground has shifted, fellow Mean Green followers. Shift with it or be sucked into Dante's ninth level freezing hell...because that's where were going to send the majority of our opponents and doubters in 2010! ¡Viva Chico Canales! (Someone with nunchuk and computer farking skills needs to create a picture of Chico in a Mean Green Sombrero)1 point

I know, but old habbits are hard to break. I thought by using Eppy...I might get more response. Like I say, old habits, etc. And, I stay confused most of the time just ask drex, SUMG, Quoner, etc., etc.1 point

Very, very proud of the Mean Green this year. It was a season where we were expected to produce, and we did just that. I will be at the first home game to see our FOUR banners raised above the floor. Next year is the year of the Mean Green. I expect we will be the favorites to win the Sun Belt. We need to also win a couple big OOC games. Our goal should be 25+ wins, regular season title, tournament championship, a 12-seed in the NCAA tournament, and our first NCAA tournament win. Congratulations to the guys, and I can't wait for next season.1 point

To JJ and his players...great year. Just ignore the lunacy that is about to be unleashed on here.1 point

Watching on TV it looked more like no team coulda beat KSU the way they were playing. I honestly didn't think we looked that bad1 point

Of all of the UNT ass-whippings I've attended, that one was by far the most painful for me. My city. My team. Total failure. The only amount of solace taken is that Rice won 10 games that year. And even that, for a "peer program", is only a very, very small consolation.1 point

Now let's get some pitchin in here and make a run next year. Could be a special one.1 point

Dude.... check you schedule. It's almost never cold in Texas. Thats why our women don't have the extra layer of fat.1 point

Forbes.com:Toyota Hybrid Horror Hoax Just like this guy's story above, I suspect this whole Toyota mess is a bunch of crap! It's strange, being a Ford guy and all, defending Toyota. But I just don't buy the stories that there's this massive problem with their cars. Their QC history has just been too good over the years. Rick1 point

.....is pay $280 to reserve tickets to sit here! The 4 hour drive back has helped bring my blood pressure back to normal so, that's all I'm gonna say about it. We did make it home safe and sound as I hope everyone else did also, so that's a positive. It was good to see the great Darrell Daniels and his wife who came in from Kansas to see the game. It was also a pleasure to finally meet GreenGuyBass and hear that voice we all recognize. Without a doubt North Texas has produced some of the most talented people in the RTVF business. With that, here's to a return trip to the NCAA next year and then a first round win for what is going to be a very veteran team. Rick0 points

Yet another "We are all victims, everyone is out to get us" thread. Good job guys. Just can't catch a break huh?0 points

The Dodge family was supposed to sit in the first row, but they sputtered out around row 40.0 points

How did so many Kstate fans end up in our 'North Texas' section? I had to sit near a row of purple making comments about our lack of size and the, apparent to them, ref bias for the 'small school.'0 points
-
If your asking me, I paid that much because, for one, I had to buy 4 of them, two, I wanted to support my school by buying them through our program, plus I wanted to sit in the North Texas section. I did this very same thing in '88 and in '07 and had great seats down low both times, and since nothing gave me an indication it would be any different this time I did it again like the others who bought up the 550 ticket allotment this time around. I won't ever again though, lesson learned! Rick0 points
-
Yup, I'll damn sure remember it for next year too. Lesson learned! Rick0 points

NTEdge should be here soon to verify this as she went back outside(with permission to reenter)to ask our AD ticket folks WTF was up with her seats? She was told she only had 30 points, not the required 45 needed to sit down low. She's a football and basketball season ticket holder, a $1,000 a year Mean Green Club donor and she and her husband spent nearly a week in Hot Springs attending the Sun Belt Conference tourney, and yet that wasn't enough? So she too had to sit with us up near the maintenance catwalk overhead, while Lee Jackson and other administration officials and their families and friends sat on or near the front rows down by the floor. With the price of oil on the continual rise of over $80 per barrel why does the U.S. Congress lay dormant in drilling so that we can become energy independent? http://washingtontimes.com/news/2010/mar/18/obama-surrenders-gulf-oil-to-moscow/ http://www.adn.com/2008/06/12/434045/china-drilling-for-oil-off-florida.html With the restrictions placed on our oil and gas companies we have become the slaves to those countries that have the readied supplies to sell at their price. Case in point. Look at the E.U. who is dependent upon the Russian reserves in their country. Look how much we are dependent upon other countries. The United States has plenty of reserves that we can get at now and help drive down the price of oil if we pump it like a prostitue. At the same time we can always explore alternative fuels that will make us independent in the future. However, the future is now....pump it.-1 points

There is not a D1 team we could have beat playing they way we did today. Thank the Lord for Tristin Thompson or else the embarrassment would have been off the charts.-2 points

Another reason to hate Todd Dodge? I'll take it. But not Rodge.-3 points

Apparently our football coach, his family, all of the administration including Lee Jackson, and about 200 others have 45 MGC points. The stadium should get built without issue.-5 points
